Great program, great focus, good results. 6/3/2009

Custom Fitness Concepts is exactly what I was looking for because it emphasizes core work and injury prevention. I initially decided to try Custom Fitness Concepts because I knew Tom Kalka from his previous employment and was impressed with him. So, he was the first person I thought of when I wanted to make a change in my fitness program. I have been training with Custom Fitness Concepts for nearly a year now. I enjoy the program very much and actually look forward to going to class. Previously, I used to dread getting up and going to fitness classes. I recommend Custom Fitness Concepts all of the time. Tom is one of the best instructors I have come across. I like his approach. He listens and makes sure that you are working to the best of your ability. Sheila Siebert more

When I started training with Custom Fitness Concepts about 4 years ago, it was so hard. After every class I went to, I said that it was my last class! I stuck with it because I was getting such a good workout. I love it. I usually show up tired, right after work, but once the workout begins, I am always so glad I went. I like that the classes are outdoors. I have had gym memberships in the past but have never used them. With Custom Fitness Concepts, we do a combination of cardio and strength training, including Pilates movements, yoga and stretching. The instructors are helpful no matter what level you are at. They push you and modify the exercises for everyone so that you do what you can. Everyone goes to their own limit. I am definitely a lot stronger and have more endurance now. Building that endurance has helped me with my soccer. I always recommend Custom Fitness Concepts to people. I know some people who were overweight and were able to lose the weight from doing the classes. If you go 3 times a week, you will start seeing a difference immediately, within the first 2 weeks. If you like to work out and are serious about getting in shape, I would say give it a try. Dana Marthinsen more

Only exercise that has held my interest for a decade. 5/20/2009

I have been working out with Tom for 8 years, since he started Custom Fitness Concepts. My experience has been very positive. Without this program, I would never have been able to continue working out the way I do. It is the only form of exercise that has been able to hold my interest for a decade. I like the community aspect of the workouts, meeting a group of people to exercise with. I also like being outdoors. I appreciate the simplicity of the exercise and how unpretentious it is. I have been happy with the results. With Custom Fitness Concepts, you pay in advance for a set of classes. So, you have to stick with it and attend the classes to see the results. Gena Wade more

Completely changed my life for the better. 4/27/2009

When you get to be middle aged, you start to have some aches and pains. I found this to be unacceptable. I was in my 50s and I was having some back pain. Custom Fitness Concepts was recommended to me by the physical education teacher at the school where I work. After 3 months with Custom Fitness Concepts, my back pain was completely gone. I decided to continue training with them. Tom, my trainer, pointed out that people tend to fall more as they age. He suggested that we work on balance, in addition to core work, strength training and cardio. He is very creative, so he changes my workout every week. I also go to physical therapy for a problem I have had since I was a child. Tom and my physical therapist communicate via email so that he knows what I can and cannot do. I am 62 now. I have been working with Custom Fitness Concepts for 5 years. Prior to this experience, I had never exercised or played a sport in my life. My advice for others is: Do not think that you are too old or out of shape to work with Custom Fitness Concepts. Also, once you start the program, stick with it. I had a neighbor who was interested in Custom Fitness Concepts and I agreed to go to a complimentary trial with her. It was a challenging workout. In fact, I almost threw up in the first class, but we decided to sign up and try it for a month. After the month, I decided to stick with it. I like the variety of classes that Custom Fitness Concepts offers. There is always something different. I also like the trainers. Even if there are a lot of people in the class, they find a way to individually assist you. They know when you are ready to take the next step and they help you do it. The workouts are motivating and challenging. I have seen a difference in my body and the way I eat. I like that classes are offered at multiple times and a number of locations. If the time of one class does not work for me, I can go to another later in the day. I highly recommend Custom Fitness Concepts. Based on my initial experience, I would say that even if it is hard at first, you should persevere and go back. It is so worth it. As someone who was not athletic, I feel that now I could go into any athletic situation and be up to the challenge and master it. I have learned how to work out. Kesley Anderson more

Wonderful program 4/17/2009

I've been in this program for a number of years, and it still keeps me showing up almost everyday. I have lost weight and inches while in this program. The instructors have wonderful personalities, and the workouts are very challenging. All questions are answered without hesitation, and I cannot say that I have felt bored or cheated in any way. I would highly recommend Custom Fitness Concepts to anyone. more

Great workouts, value, and trainers! 4/16/2009

I began working with CFC almost a year ago and I continue to be challenged on a daily basis. The trainers are motivating, focused, experienced, and help you get the most out of your time with them. It's has helped me realize I can use the weight of my body and the outdoors to get just as good a workout as I would get waiting at a machine in a gym. more

An Outstanding Workout Tailored to Meet My Needs 4/15/2009

For years, I was a member of the CFC outdoor conditioning class. I stayed in the class until I was seven months pregnant and vowed to go back once I was able to exercise after the C-Section. However, after having the baby and getting into the "Mom-routine," attending class at 6AM was not an option. I tried to structure a program for myself, but was not seeing results. I began working out with a CFC trainer who comes to my house two times a week. She is creative and flexible, and every workout, she pushes me to focus on form and work as hard as I can. She sends me follow up emails during the week to ensure that I am getting doing cardio on my own in between our sessions. I have become stronger, faster, healthier and most importantly, I am eight pounds away from my pre-baby weight. I couldn't be more pleased with CFC and I can honestly say that they have developed a fitness program for me that fits my lifestyle. more
