Convention Housing Services

Don't rely on what they tell you - it doesn't match up to what you sign. We were told we could make changes to our reservations if we did so by a certain date. Well, we did then were told we weren't being refunded because it wasn't 30 days in advance (it was 27) - even though it was on the date the guy who booked everything told us. Also, they are very difficult to get replies from after you've booked. more

I had the WORST experience with this company. Nothing in writing but your contract, and it contradicts what I was told by phone by several representatives. I ultimately had to pay 2x for the same reservation because they refused to change the name on it after telling me they would. Then offered nothing when I continued to request a refund for the reservation we had. They blamed everyone involved, and took no responsibility. Please save your self the embarrassment I went through with my company and do not use this scam company. My colleague couldn't check in and had to change rooms each night. Save yourself the time effort and head ache, the rates are not good enough to combat these issues. Check out the Better Business Bureau first. They are not a member and have had several complaints!!! more

I love the act of traveling but I absolutely hate the dealing with all the arrangements. I run a whole beauty products company and travel around to all the conventions and shows. We are a nationwide company and I have people in every region who do the same so I am constantly making arrangements for several employees heading sometimes to the same conventions and sometimes different ones. I found convention housing services and they have been wonderful. Whether I just have a few or several, they seem to be able to fit me and get me great rates and take care of it all! I even call them when I plan my own personal family travel and again, they always can take care of it all and beat all the on line sites. After doing this for 20 years, I have always loved to travel but hated the dealing with it part. Now I don't have to and I thank CHS for all there help. I know I am a pain sometimes and I change stuff around but they always accommodate me. I just wanted to take the time to let people know what type of company they really are. I don't do a lot of this online stuff because I am super busy but I obviously need to do more for those companies that really are wonderful and stand out like Convention Housing Services. more

It's not easy dealing with travel. It's such a cut throat business and things change on a moments notice. I've found a great company that takes care of all my travel needs. I just booked a personal vacation to Orlando and got group rates. Saved me several hundred just in hotel. I happened to go at a time that there was a convention that they were the main travel provider for and got airfare too much cheaper for me and my family. I saved almost $1,000 and got a top notch trip to Orlando in style. I will recommend CHS to everyone. I will continue to use them for much more than just a lucky personal vacation. If it can be done, they can do it! Thanks CHS! more

I got a cold call and was asked to book rooms for Las vegas. I was a little nervous because I have had a bad experience with booking companies before. These guy are the real deal. I booked 6 rooms for 24 nights in a 4 star hotel. It was 25 dollars less than anywhere I could find it. I took a chance and I am glad I did. We only travel 2 or 3 times a year but I will use them again for my trip in oct. Everyone I dealt with was very nice. I did not get charged for my changes and I had a very good experience.. I would use this company again!!!! more

Don't bother working with Convention Housing Services unless you want to have a sales person lie to you, customer service give you the run around, and then management threaten you with their terms. They call to say they have low room rates and I never give any of these companies a try, but this salesman sounded desperate, so I decided to give booking a try. Should of went with my gut and just said no, because they are not honest and they make you fill out the forms while they keep you on the phone, rushing you to fax the forms back. When asked what the cancellation policy is, the salesman lied and said its completely hassle free, not surcharge, just call and they will cancel....quick and easy. Lies, all lies. Avoid at all cost. Hopefully you are reading this before trying them out instead of after. more

They called me stating to represent a professional organization for a conference our company attends. He summarized the contract, and convinced me to sign while on the phone, saying I was getting the last few rooms. Said I could make changes up until 30 days before the event (in May) before they charged the last half of the prepayment. He flat out lied about everything - they have charged my card, I can't get anyone but the receptionist to answer, and no one will call me back. They charged an additional $1,063 for ""Surcharge"" that wasn't stated. more

Great place for one stop business travel. I've been using CHS on behalf of my company for several years now. They handle on my travel arrangements from start to finish. I must say it is really nice to be able to not have to create a massive spreadsheet just to try and organize travel for several employees. We go to about 5 conventions a year and CHS takes most the hassle out of travel. I have rarely had a problem and when I have, it's been quickly resolved. This is a crazy business and very competitive. I have done my home work when it comes to Convention Housing and group travel and CHS has always given me a fare price and really good service. If it's not broke, don't fix it! Thanks CHS! more

It's nice to have a business you can count on. It has been last minute or months in advance, CHS has always done right by me. They just keep getting better too. I like to talk to live person but they got this down pretty good which means they got some great partners on board. I'm more than happy to book my business travel with them. I've seen nothing but good things from them. Great prices, service and support. I really have had no issues with them. A couple questions here and there but I can name a million things a deal with that are much more difficult so CHS gets an A or 9.499 in my book. It doesn't get much higher in my book. more

Very happy with CHS and the help they provide for me and my company when I need to travel. Between Conventions and Conferences, myself and several employees are all over the country several times a year. Some places give you a little discount if you book everything with them but it's really just not a true package deal. This is what CHS provides and I'm not just getting a little discount off my 18 rooms, I'm also getting discounts with everything! it works out to save my company over 25% on travel expenses and over a year's time, we are talking a lot of money. This is the difference on whether I may receive a bonus or not so i am very up to date on everything. CHS has continued to impress me. I appreciate their professional staff and they know who I am when I call. I may not be the biggest client but they sure treat me like it and that is great to get from another company. Thank you CHS, you have continued to earn our business over and over! more

I am a little league baseball coach. I coach a local all star team that travels around the country and plays teams and then we are part of the little league world series. We have to raise money to travel and it can get pretty tight. Travel costs are very important. I heard of CHS when going to a regional tournament in Houston. Even though they are in Las Vegas, seeing how it is the travel capital of the world at least for many things, I called them to start asking for packages for my team and families. We travel many people and CHS has helped us use that to our advantage. Rather then separating everyone, we now can put most people together or close and put together some great package deals for everyone. We could not do this without the help of Convention Housing Services. They have been able to break the average cost per person almost in half from what other travel agencies could do. This has only allowed us to get more people to travel to support our community and our kids. I will continue to use CHS and I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to give them a try. I really appreciate all they do for us Frisco Allstars! more

I wish I had known about this company years ago. I hate dealing with travel. It's almost a full time job in itself when you are constantly trying to stay within a budget but yet you need to be at all these conventions all over the world. I never found someone who could just take care of it all and especially outside the country. CHS, thanks for what you have done for me and my company our last 2 trips. I'm in Southern California and I even had them help me with a convention in San Diego. I am a believer and you have saved me a ton of time and headaches. Thanks, I really appreciate it. Things in business are never perfect but I can't tell you how much it helps when you do a ton of traveling with many employees and you can just call one company and have it handled. I thought it was too good to be true. I was very apprehensive when I first started talking to them but they have pulled through now 2 times for me this year. I have yet to see another company do what CHS does but I have had some say they could. I think there are some upset people because they are losing business they once had. They have always been straight forward with me and I the kind who won't play around. I'm so glad I now have CHS dealing with my travel for my company. Maybe I can get home at decent hours now and not have my family upset all the time and my wife heating up my dinner. LOL! Thanks CHS! more

This company was a good company to work with. I have used the official housing services for some of these conventions and although they were ok, when I heard from CHS, they offered to give me pricing on the convention my company was about to attend. I didn't really care how they found out I was going to this Convention, I just wanted to keep my options open. I was pleasantly surprised. They were very easy to work with. I called them the next time, still comparing prices as we all must do but again I was happy with all they offered. It's hard when you need 20 rooms near a convention center. I feel they provide a great service and it's helped me a great deal. I haven't ever had a bad experience with them. Thanks for all your help! more

I often book group travel for my company to go to Conventions all over the country. We deal in wide format printing so Conventions is a big part of our business. I have used CHS for the last year on 4 different Conventions, Las Vegas, Seattle, Dallas and Orlando. They made my job so much easier in trying to get bulk rates on many rooms for days at a time and at a decent price. Everyone else either blew me off or wanted a ton more money. Tim, the sales guy I delt with was upfront, honest and just made the travel experience for my employees so much easier. Not only was the pricing as promised but my guys came back and were always happy with how seemless all there travel arrangements were. As much as I wanted to take credit for it all, I really owed all the credit to CHS. All I can say is I am already discussing next year and january in Vegas with CHS. They can handle it all! Just a few words about this company. I run a staffing company and I have to travel and send my reps to conferences and conventions all over the country. I stumbled upon CHS when booking a convention in Las Vegas. Then to find out they could help me with all my other travel stuff, I was very happy to hear. They have been a pleasure to work with and I am happy with the service they provide. It's a pain to make these arrangements and to have CHS take the hassle out of my hands in very nice and makes my job a little easier. I can say that there is a lot to chose from out there when it comes to travel. Then you add trying to book several room for a few days and wow! I go to and bring employees to conventions. I've tried many different methods to do this. I received a call from a gentleman one day from this company. I get calls all the time about this stuff but I needed a quote for an upcoming Convention in Seattle. It was a fair price so I decided to book it. I know prices change all the time but I was happy with the price and I compared it to the usual convention planners online and some through the local Seattle Chamber. It was a good price. I have used Convention Housing 2 times since and if its not broke, I don't fix it. I did have a last minute change that was kind of a pain but it worked out. Now I think about it, i'm not sure anyone could of fixed a last minute change and yet they did a pretty good job of accommodating me. I don't like messing with stuff too much and CHS made things pretty easy. I always want better though, doesn't everyone? Thanks for all your help this last year! I really appreciate it! more

Traveling is supposed to be fun. Business Travel is just not that much fun at all. Making arrangements for several employee's in nothing short of crazy! Convention Housing has done a good job taking some of that craziness from me. I used to try and to do it all on my own, I've tried using some of the preferred Planners for each particular convention but I have found with CHS, it don't matter where I am going, they will get me good group packages. I got a call from them about a year ago. I normally don't take many calls but they got me on a good day I guess. They new I was registered for the Convention and asked if I had made my accommodations yet. I told them I was working on it but no not yet. They simple asked if they could propose a package deal on my travel. All they wanted was a chance to earn my business, they gave me there website and told me what they did. I was never told they were a preferred travel planner but that they do a lot of group travel for companies all over the world. I was a glad to get with a company that would give me good pricing and take most of the hassle away from me. I gave them a try figuring if they could do what they say or even close, my life just go a little easier with my conventions. We don't just go to 1 or 2, we are going to many. We also have distributors all over and have reps constantly traveling. It's actually been better every time I deal with them. Rarely are there any issues and when issues arise, they are quick to try to resolve them. CHS definitely has earned my business and simplified all business travel for my company. I don't write many reviews but I am seeing why you should good or bad. They simple asked when I spoke to them a few weeks ago that if I had a chance would I please write a little about my experience's with them. I can now see why and will definitely make sure that my marketing people are asking our customer's for there comments as well. I want to hear good or bad from people as ways to improve the company. I have used them 2 times once for 5 rooms and once for 3 rooms. They saved me 12% and 10% beyond any rates I could get. I was hoping for 25% but they did not charge me for changes. and they were very nice. I read some hoopla about them and got nervous. My sales person made me promise to write this on check out last time and I forgot. .. this time he reminded me about my promise so here is my review. They are a good company. they took very good care of me. and I trust them and will use them again. more
