I looked at a FX35 in the used car area of the lot. I wasn't impressed with the car but the sales person was persistent in asking me to make an offer. Pros: null Cons: null

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/13/2013

I went to Coggin Honda because I knew exactly what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. I was not prepared for the way I was treated or the fact that Coggin sells things to people that does not exist. \r \r The finance person, Sammy, got my paperwork wrong 3 different times. The first time he did not even have my name or address correct. The second time the paperwork had the wrong insurance information. (I was told this was not important and I should just sign the documents and stop reading what was in front of me). \r \r Sammy kept pushing items I did not want to buy. I kept saying no but he would not take that for an answer. I asked for my keys back and he refused to give them to me. I ended up purchasing a service package for an extra $600.00. I was told it would be good for oil changes, new tires, tire rotations and anything I needed to get done on my new car for the next three years. I purchased my car in the beginning of August and I have yet to see any of the coupons or documentation for this extra service. I have called and gone to the dealership twice to get this resolved. I was advised both times that my coupon book is “in the mail”. I also called Honda corporate who stated that what I purchased was not an authorized Honda item and they had no record of me buying the package. \r \r It is the middle of October and I have nothing to show for the extra $600.00 package I am making payments on.\r \r When I left the dealership with my new car my salesman did not take the time to teach me anything on the car. I had to set up my own Bluetooth and kept bumping my head when I got out because the seat and steering wheel were not adjusted to my settings.\r This dealership will sell you things that do not exist – like fake service plans…and then take your money. \r \r Every time I get in my car I am reminded of the horrible mistake I made by purchasing it at Coggin Honda. Please do not make the same mistake I have.\r more

UN PROFFESIONAL!!! 2/27/2012

I looked at a FX35 in the used car area of the lot. I wasn't impressed with the car but the sales person was persistent in asking me to make an offer. I told the sales person even with a crazy offer I doubt the car would work for me. I through out a number and the sales manager comes over. He proceeds to show me a website with FX35's that sold in the area in relation to there price. I told him about the other FX35's that are on the market in much better condition and 2,000 less, and he said well you better call them know and put a deposit down. The guy basically called me a liar. The original sales person dissapeared after I spent over an hour sitting there. I felt like the sales manager just wanted to come over and act like a big shot, so to speak, with talking down to a customer. I have been in sales for 17 years and have been a consumer longer than that. That deaership is un proffesional. What a joke!! more

A very stressful experience 10/23/2011

Spoke with JR (sales manager) by phone after test driving vehicle. Came to an agreement on price with JR, he said come in and we could finish the deal. We arrived at dealership, spent over 3 hours and then finally went to the finance office. The deal was completely different than what we agreed to by phone. Proceeded to walk out, JR said he could do the deal as agreed. Spent another 30 minutes because the deal had changed again. We told JR we were leaving and his quote was "Fine, leave. I don't want to sell you a car anyway" more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ! ESPECIALLY IF YOUR A FEMALE ! 6/5/2011

I called before arriving and explained all circumstances to the salesman before having to waste his time and especially mine, taking into consideration that I was traveling a hour and a half to get there. They wanted to give me $4000 for my trade in that was easily worth $6,600 at any other dealership. not only that they wanted $2,000 dollars down to get me into the car I was inquiring about. Ive heard about taking a loss on car deals but this was an absolute rip off. i will never go back there again. more

Horrible after the fact customer service 3/20/2009

My boyfriend and I went to Coggin Honda Orlando to purchase a vehicle. They showed him the car and he loved it. He filled out all the finance paperwork and purchased insurance for the vehicle because you can’t drive off the lot unless you have insurance. We keep the car for a week and the salesman called and said there was a problem. We went back up to the dealership and they told us that he was not approved for financing. We were fine with this, because he has not been in his residence and job for at least 6 months since he just moved to Orlando. That was all fine. I was a little upset that they let us drive off the lot and keep the car for so long but I got over that. I never made any formal complaints or anything. The problem that I had was with the Finance department. According to my insurance company in order to break the 6 months contract with them we needed proof that he was not given possession of the vehicle. I went to the dealership and the Finance Director Robert Odel wrote me a letter. I gave the letter to my insurance company but they rejected it because it had no date on the letter. My insurance agent tried several times to contact Mr. Odel and he spoke to her at first told her he was going to add a date and fax it back to her. He never did and when she called him back he hung up the phone on her. I drove up there and ask to speak with him. He came out his office and was very friendly to me until we got in his office. Then his whole tone changed and he said he was not writing me another letter and he had a meeting to go to and he did not have time for this. I told him I totally understand that you are busy I am suppose to be at work myself. I asked him again please just write the letter I will get out of your way. He told me no. I took my papers and told him fine I won’t contact you again the next person you will hear from will be my lawyer, he said for me to do whatever I wanted to do. I was just so upset that he was making this such a big deal. It was part of his job. The insurance company is not just going to terminate a contract just by word of mouth they need proof. Anyway I went to the front desk and ask for someone over him. But the receptionist said they were all in the meeting. Mr. Odel came to the desk and once again his tone changed and told me that if I wait till he got out the meeting he would write the letter for me. About 10 minutes later he came out and put the paper on the table and told me to write the letter and he will sign it. I just could not believe that it took so much to get him to write a 2 line letter just stating that he never took possession of the vehicle and the date. This was a one month process. The purchase date was on the 2/21/09 and I fought with them on this until 3/20/09. His attitude was insane. They are all nice to you when you are signing all the papers buying a vehicle from them then after that their customer service skills go down the drain. more

Beware when purchasing from them! 2/3/2007

Sure, their smiles gleam with kindness. Sure, their voices sound innocent. Truth is, they're just in it for the money. Be aware of the most common bait-and-switches - they use them. NEVER negotiate off monthly payment. Watch all prices they give you in every category. They will try and hit you with a HUGE(!!!!) $595 documentation fee that is pure profit for them if you're not vigilant. Watch out for them trying to change your financing years without notifying you. Be certain to watch your trade-in value as they will definitely give you the lowest amount possible for it. When you negotiate, know the price you're going to buy for it and do not budge. If you go in uninformed, they'll go a couple negotiating rounds with you acting like their final deal is the "best" price to give you when in reality it's definitely not. Take this advice from somebody who experience many of their little tricks and bought a car from them. This is a dealership not worth trusting during the sale. more

I had a positive car buying experience at Coggin Honda 3/4/2006

I recently made a new car purchase at Coggin Honda, I found the staff to be professional and up front. The customer waiting area offers many comforts, such as snacks, for the kids, movies, and coffee. The only downside is the whole price negotiating process takes to long. more
