Beware of Dr. Zach Lane! 6/2/2016

Do not take your pet here if Dr. Zach Lane is on duty!! He has no idea what he is doing in \r regard to exotic care of small pocket pets. We have a beloved pet rat who became ill during Sunday of this past memorial day weekend and began mouth breathing which is a sign of respiratory distress and can be very serious in pet rats. We have had this happen before when we adopted a rat from a local rescue and we were given medicine and a certain protocol for care. Our pet rats also have a specialized exotic vet we use for things like being spayed or neutered, injury, illness, etc. So, we were very familiar with care particularly associated with rats. \r \r After 24 hours of trying home care, we decided to take Baby to Cobb Emergency Vet Clinic in Woodstock. Dr. Zach Lane was on duty. When Dr. Lane examined our rat and my husband told him what we had tried to do (based on previous vet and rat rescue group advice) he began shaming him and telling him that he made things worse by treating her more

Sadly, we had to spend a lot of time at Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic last week, but I wanted to say they are absolutely amazing <3 We have dealt with other emergency clinics and had horrible experiences so we were bracing ourselves for the worst. The entire staff was so nice and compassionate. Both vets, Dr. Maddox and Dr. Quinlan, we saw were wonderful! I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family. more

DON'T BRING YOUR PET HERE! 9/16/2014

I wish I could give no stars or minus stars\r We brought our beloved kitty here yesterday, had I read the horrible reviews I would have never brought our pet here!\r We brought her to have care\r We brought her home... dead! \r With an outrageous bill of over $800 and no explanation as to why she arrested and later died. Allison Maddox is Heartless!!!! The only thing this place cares about is taking your money. They will not even tell you why your pet died!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

KILL BELOVED PETS FOR MONEY 9/16/2014

This clinic should NOT be in business. My family brought my cat to this vet because it was our only resort for a blood transfusion that she needed. Not only was the veterinarian Allison Maddox un knowledgeable of any of our questions and defensive when we asked them, she was rude and heartless. As we accepted to pay a ridiculous overcharge to bring our family cat back to health and said our goodbyes before the procedure, five minutes later they called to bluntly tell us our lifelong pet had died and they couldn't even tell us why.. Sounds suspicious right? This clinic is not a place to bring your pet unless you want to be overcharged and under cared for. I truly believe our cat would be alive or had a better chance if we had the option to bring her elsewhere. This place deserves no stars or clients. Not only did we come home without our precious pet, we still have to pay 1,000 with no explanation of why. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/15/2014

I brought my amstaff in around 1230 AM today as she was vomiting and had bloody diarrhea. $400 later they still don't know what's really wrong with her. They gave me some meds for colitis. I paid my bill and am now waiting for her to be released because apparently it is taking longer for them to hydrate her. I also don't like that I haven't laid eyes on my dog for the past 2.5 hours I've been here. I will be taking her to another vet as I get a strange feeling about the staff here. Every unfavorable review you've read please take heed. I hope my baby will be okay. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/24/2013

With as many as 6 pets over the last 7 years, I have had to make several trips to Cobb Emergency vet clinic, and they are my heroes. From the front office desk to the medical personnel, I have found them to be compassionate, efficient, skilled and professional. It is true that they are expensive, but they have kept me informed of cost every step of the way so that I could make appropriate decisions about my pets' care. When I walked in with my badly injured Wilbur cat about 3 weeks ago, he received attention immediately and I was able to witness the extent of their caring and medical skills again as they shortly brought him back to me so all prepped up that I could say a proper good bye to him. Two days later, My Teebu cat was in need of intensive care and needed surgery as well as a several day days stay for bladder problems, He is now thriving again at home. The doctors, surgeons and medical attendants all are superb professionals with great hearts. They have kept me sane in times of great stress.I drive the 30 minutes it takes me to get the CEVC with no second thoughts, although I have an emergency clinic closer to me in town. I am so thankful to Cobb Emergency Vet clinic for everything they have done foe my pets, and I would not go anywhere else in an emergency. more

Go to Woodstock Emergency Vet instead!! 6/7/2013

I had to bring my cat in at around midnight because he was in pain and very stiff when I tried to pick him up. He had struggled in the litter box three times prior to that so I assumed something was wrong with his being able to go to the bathroom. I could hear him howling in the back room at the vet so I felt terrible. The Vet came into the room where I was waiting and told me he was fat and that he needed to lose weight. She then drew a picture of a cat peeing and a cat pooping and asked me which one he was doing. She then said, "Well I could do an Xray but your cat is not helping me much and I don't know what I'd be looking for. I then took him back home to monitor him myself because nothing was being done. My cat then experienced an additional night and morning of pain so we brought him back. The vet miracualously knew what the problem was this time. His Urethra was obstructed. This is a very common problem fo rmale cats so I am not sure why an experienced vet would send a cat who c more

DO NOT GO TO THIS VET 12/3/2012

DO NOT GO TO THIS EMERGENCY VET!!! They charge a ridiculous amount of money and they only did two tests on my dog who was vomiting and pooping pure blood. THEY SENT HER HOME! I was there from 6:30 to 11 am, the woman vet ALLISON MADDOX does the bare minimum. I got my dog home and she was still pooping blood so i took her to her normal vet and she was still extremely dehydrated. The vet immediately knew what was wrong with her and kept her for 2 days. I will NEVER be returning to this awful place. I tried to get my money back and the woman told me I declined overnight stay which was NEVER offered to me and she also lied and told me I declined because I was going to take my dog to the normal vet which was 2 hours away. I didnt decide to take her until AFTER I got her home and she continued to poop blood. DO NOT GO HERE! more

They wanted to kill my puppy 11/23/2012

Awful expierence. Rude girl up front. Then FINALLY told me after forcing me to pay over $100 up front to just examine her, that all they could do was euthanize her. I said no way, she will pass with me at home. Esoecially sense they wouldn't let me back with her. Then had to balls to tell me if I had money, they would suggest overnight stay with them. And to tell me she wouldn't make it through the night. I watched my pup all night, and now she is as good as new. I amlost lost my dog due to them. They do not care about you or your pet. Go somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!! more

"Give me your credit card or your dog is going to die."\r \r Horrible experience. Pressured into paying for treatment "estimates" that increase rapidly with no explanation.\r The way they talk to you is unbelievable. I don't know how they sleep at night. It's like a terrible scam where the bargaining chip is your dog's life. more

very bad experience 9/4/2012

I cannot express my dissatisfaction enough with the diagnosis provided from Dr. Allison Maddox, DVM in regards to my pet Rocco, who was seen for a leg injury Monday, August 13th, 2012. She seemed entirely unconfident in her diagnosis of my pet?s injury and was not able to provide me with any relevant information. For most of the visit she was unsure as to if we were even looking at the correct animal in the x-rays provided. When questioned about a cloudy area on the screen, she informed me that was my pet?s testicles, when in fact my dog is neutered. When asked if we were even looking at the correct leg, she was completely unsure and had to step out of the room to double check she even had the right slides on the screen. She kept using completely irrelevant veterinary jargon that was in no way informative or understandable; informing me that she was sure it was not a ?bone cancer? issue. I had clearly stated that he injured his back left leg and she kept referring to his spine more

They're going to take your money!!! 7/29/2012

I took a small dog (3 lbs) with a broken leg to the clinic on 41 on a Sunday at 3pm. 2 xrays and a splint with pain meds cost $635.00. A break down of the fees, emergency visit $45, office visit $54, 3 pain shots $41, $46 & $41, 2 xrays $127, charge to read the 2 xrays $127, splint for broken leg $79, pain meds to take home $68 + tax and a disposal fee. Sound like a rapist to you? Me too. They took care of the dog which was the most important thing & I'm thankful for that but man! A little attitude from one of the ladies up front also. more

The place to take your pet to die 3/27/2012

Went to Cherokee Clinic on Sunday March 25, 2012 My dog walked in alive at 10:30am and I carried her out dead 4 hours later. They delayed treating her because they felt more important cases came along. Twice they sent me home saying they would run blood. I turned my loving companion over to them not saying goodbye thinking I would have her back in 20 minutes never saw her alive again. they will not allow owners back there. My precious love died alone without me because of their careless, inhumane treatment. YES they are ALL about money. Ran my bill up higher than estimated when I said I would pay whatever it took to SAVE her. not run test after test when it was obvious she was terminal that day. On top of that while she was comatose they wanted to euthanize her when they said she was in no pain and not coherent. More money for them. Then charged me $70 disposal fee when I stated I was taking her home for burial. My baby went into a coma while I was waiting in a room to be given the new more

yuck 2/13/2012

My cat became ill due to the ingestion of a weeping fig (ficus) while in the care of my friend. My friend brought the cat in after she had vomited multiple times & began drooling excessively. She expressed her concern to me many times, saying that she believed eating the plant is what made my cat ill. She also said she explicitly said this many times while in the vet's office. Apparently, however, she was brushed off and the cat was treated for another diagnosis ("stress; change of diet") and was sent home. However, the kitty continued to throw up, have diarrhea, and was unable to keep any food down, growing increasingly dehydrated and lethargic. The toxicity of the plant is what made her so ill.\r \r Had the clinic listened to my friend, they could have accurately treated the cat for poison. Severe gastrointestinal or liver damage may have been done, and I am peeved that I paid over $400 for an incorrect diagnosis. So, we were forced to go to yet another clinic and pay yet another bill more

Cobb Emergency Vet Clinic/Would not recommend!!! 9/23/2011

My girlfriend and I arrived at the clinic with our dog, who was having a seizure. After about 30 minutes, the vet told us that our pet was doing good after an injection of anti-seizure meds, and that his temperature had stabilised. He told us that he needed to keep our dog for 36 hours, and that it would cost $1500.00 to keep him supervised, and give him medical care. We were told that our pet had a really good chance of recovering. The price made us wince, but we were told that he had a chance only if they kept him at the hospital, even though we really couldnt afford the hospitalization. The doctor then told us that we needed to go out to the front desk and pay our bill "upfront". The receptionist then informed us that the price was $1700, which was $200 more than the doctor had just quoted us only 10 minutes earlier. When we asked why, they said additional "medical procedures" may need to be performed. While we were putting the outrageous bill onto TWO credit cards, we were asked more

Horrible place 7/14/2011

Horrible care received here twice. My first pet arrived there with seizures. In the span of 30 hours, the "vets" administered "care" that totalled $2,300, and then euthanized my dog.\r \r I was forced to got there again on July 4, 2011. My tiny chihuahua was ill. The "vet" took 10 minutes with me to hand me pain medications and charge me $136.00.\r \r When I followed up with my primary care vet, my dog underwent emergency surgery.\r \r When I called Cobb Emergency vet to report that my dog had been misdiagnosed and that I would like a refund for at least a portion of the cost, I had to wait 3 days for a surly call from the vet, followed by an even nastier call from the office manager.\r \r I will never darken the door of this sorry excuse for a hospital again. more

wonderful experience, clean hospital 5/18/2011

My baby a german shepard had to have surgery due to bloat and without them I don't think she would have made it. The staff was wonderful and updated me on her condition and yes even though it's expensive it's well worth the money. \r I was also very impressed with how clean this hospital was. I have been to several clinics and this one was clean and when I say clean I mean clean. This girl came out to clean the bathrooms and swept the lobby while I was waiting for an update on my baby and was nice enough to smile while doing her job. I do think all of these reviews are unfounded. I had a great experience there and if it wasn't for them my little girl would not be with me today. Thank you to Cobb for saving my baby. more

No compassion all about money only 9/15/2010

My elderly parents "baby" was in respiratory distress and they took him to this "vet". (I am using that term for lack of a better one. They have a sign saying exams are 89.00 however they made my parents give them $500.00 cash to even look at Shorty even though he was very distressed. After a while they told my mom she needed to leave him there but only if she gave them $1200.00 up front. I had access to transfer money for them to vet but as soon as my dad told them he would have to get the extra money and would have it when they picked up Shorty the next morning her comment was "do you have good credit?" "you can just take your dog home if you don't have the money right now". They told my mom and dad that he was alert and sitting up then. That was not true at all he could not even stand up. He died 2 hours after they literally threw him out because Dad only had $500.00 cash on him. Could not even wait until morning for the $1200.00 when bank opened. They ONLY care about the mo more
