My girlfriend and I arrived at the clinic with our dog, who was having a seizure. After about 30 minutes, the vet told us that our pet was doing good after an injection of anti-seizure meds, and that his temperature had stabilised. He told us that he needed to keep our dog for 36 hours, and that it would cost $1500.00 to keep him supervised, and give him medical care. We were told that our pet had a really good chance of recovering. The price made us wince, but we were told that he had a chance only if they kept him at the hospital, even though we really couldnt afford the hospitalization. The doctor then told us that we needed to go out to the front desk and pay our bill "upfront". The receptionist then informed us that the price was $1700, which was $200 more than the doctor had just quoted us only 10 minutes earlier.
