Awesome burgers. Fun casual atmosphere. Eclectic place. A definite ""must eat at"" when in San Antonio.

Grease Madrid 8/7/2002

The place is filthy, the music is too loud. If you have to eat outside you will have to compete with flies to eat your burger. We all like a greasy burger; but not to the point were you have to wipe the grease running down your hand every time you take a bite. Nor the kind that makes the bun soggy after the first squeeze (to the point that by the third bite your fingers are touching the meat and the veggies directly.) Speaking of soggy, by the time you get your fries all you are going to have are little stick-sponges of oil. This is the most overrated burger joint in San Antonio. GOD is the cook at Chris Madrids 8/6/2002

Since the place opened with the 2 tables then the cable spools outside and the umbrellas stuck in them that would blow away unless you were savvy enough to grab the pole and not knock over the Coronas when a strong gust of wind appeared out of nowhere, the BURGERS HAVEN'T CHANGED! Doesn't this make one suspsious that GOD is the short-order cook there? Chris has NEVER volenteered a tour. So what or who is he hiding back there? my parents were eating at chris madrid's the night i was born. i have been eating there my whole life, and it doesn't get any better than the macho cheddar cheesier. if you have a chris madrid's shirt, i promise you can wear it just about anywhere english is spoken, and someone will tell you that is where the best burgers are served.
