Best

Awesome burgers. Fun casual atmosphere. Eclectic place. A definite ""must eat at"" when in San Antonio.

Worst

very expenisive, too hard to find and too long of a wait for lunch

Best Burger in the World.... 1/25/2006

Chris Madrid's tostada burger is absolutely wonderful! We've been know to drive over three hours just to have lunch! The homemade picante and pico are heavenly and the nachos are also a favorite. Do not miss this spot with you go to San Antonio - you will not regret it! more

THE VERY BEST!!!!!!! 10/14/2005

I have lived in san antonio for ten years and the people back home always ask what eating place I would miss if ever we were to move from here. I always said there isn't one! That changed when I found out about Chris Madrid's. I LOVE their burgers and their fries and so does my husband. juicy burgers great taste and for little money. I only wish I lived closer to it. Chris Madrids would be the only eating place I would veery much miss if I moved from San Antonio. It is a must for anyone to try,you won't be sorry!!!!!!!! Pros: great burgers, great fries, inexpensive more

The $50 Taxi Lunch -- and Worth Every Penny 8/5/2005

While staying on the Riverwalk, I had been informed that this was the place I had to try for a lunch burger. Too far to walk, they said, so I took a cab, and when the meter hit $20 and we still were not there, I worried. But for naught. The burger was without a doubt the best I've ever had, anywhere, anytime. This place may not be all you expect; its burger will certainly be difficult to surpass. All said and done, the lunch cost me a fine $50, but I'd do it again tomorrow. I'd try to pick a hotel closer, perhaps. more

Impress Your Guests! 6/9/2005

Formally from San Antonio, I reside in AZ. When it comes to bringing pals with you on your trip to San Antonio.....THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Everyone I bring enjoys this place. Awesome burgers at a reasonable price! I have eaten everything on the menu and I highly recommend this place for great times of burgers and beer. I tip my hat to everyone there at Chris Madrids. Keep up the awesome work!! Pros: get $ worth more

Chris Madrid's - the Best Burger in America 4/24/2005

I have completed my quest for the ultimate burger. It can be found in San Antonio, Texas. The ""Cheddar Cheesy"" is the one. Try it with the delicious french fries dipped in the awesome Chris Madrid's Salsa. Add an ice cold beer and you have found the ""Cheese Burger in Paradise"". Pros: Delicious more

Classic SA hospitality and atmosphere 3/14/2005

I had never been to Chris Madrid's although I have lived near SA all my life. Went recently with my family and just loved it. I never knew what I was missing. A great experience for a lazy late lunch on Saturday. Pros: fun, affordable, eclectic Cons: hard parking more

Best Hamburger Coast2coast 11/21/2004

Oh my gosh....this was the most incredible burger I've ever had (and I've had plenty). I found out about this place on Citysearch, but was leary after driving by...we went ahead an stopped, though, and the Tostada Burger was AWESOME. We were in town for 3 days, and we went back the second day for another Tostada Burger. Trust me, you'll never have a better burger, anywhere. If you order fries, be sure and get cheese on them. Pros: Quality, Price more

delicious! 7/18/2004

I love these burgers, especially the chedder cheesy. One thing though - some reviewers made comments on the part of town this is in. It's not a ghetto for God's sake! The cars do get broken into at night occasionally, but don't worry about being there at night. There must be some real hot-house flowers on this sight. Pros: food, ambiance, friendly staff more

The Best of the Best 5/7/2004

I dare you to find a better tasting burger than the macho with cheese. They don't put some cheese that looks more like yellow hot glue stick shavings. These burgers are drowned in beautiful cheddar. Abosultely unbelievable! Pros: taste, place, price Cons: , lacking, unkown more

Chris Madrids 1/15/2004

Chris Madrids is the best hamburger place I have ever eaten at!! It is cheap too!! Everyone who visits San Antonio should eat there!! Pros: Inexpensive, Great food Cons: Bad parking, Can be crowded more

Houston needs a better burger 11/9/2003

Living in Houston is tough enough , but not having Chris Madrids once in awhile is killing me. I always make a point of telling anyone that is visiting San Antonio to go to Chris Madrids, and Rudys,(my favorites). Looking forward to the next Lee reunion for the 69 grads. Maybe someday we will have a Chris Madrids in Houston! Pros: quality , inexpensive, local atmosphere Cons: not in Houston more

Best Burgers In Town 8/8/2003

Chris Madrid's is hands-down my favorite place to eat in this town of over a million people. Though the burgers cost a mere $5, I would prefer to eat here than to have a $50 steak for free. That's how good Chris Madrid's burgers are. The Tostada Burger is a local classic, and their fries are second to none. Excellent nachos and chalupas round out the menu. If this restaurant were not 30 miles away from me, I would eat there every day. Always crowded, Chris Madrid's is truly a spot for locals in-the-know. Dine inside or on the patio, San Antonio's weather usually permits both. If you like big, greasy burgers, Chris Madrid's is for you. Pros: Tasty, Inexpensive, Local Secret Cons: Small Dining Space, Long Lines more

Better than Chesters But not Longhorn 8/7/2003

Chris Madrid's beats Chesters hands-down. At least it's juicy! I like the cheese burger. Still think Longhorn is better. Too many veggies on Chris Madrid's burgers, not enuf meat. Too much bun. But if you are in the location, and it's closer to you... go for this restaurant. more

Hello San Antonio ! 2/22/2003

I'm from Cincinnati and recently visited SA. Chris Madrid's is the greatest ! Ice cold slushy beer and the greatest burgers and nachos in the world. Jimmy the bartender is great ! Hello Carol ! more

My FAVORITE, Hands Down 2/7/2003

In my opinion this place has the best burgers anywhere! They are so inexpensive, but have the best quality. They come as a close 2nd to burgers grilled out in your own back yard, (they may even beat em!) Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious, Fun Cons: Far Away, Parking more

Best of the Best! 1/13/2003

Without a doubt the best around! Great for the price! The only the lacking is a better ordering area. Pros: quality food, reasonably priced, owner cares Cons: crowded, inadequate seating, more room more

You've gotta be kidding! 1/5/2003

Greasy burgers. Rubbery cheese. Yuck. Go to Chesters, Whataburger or stay at home and make your own. more

Awesome Hamburgers and Salsa 12/13/2002

The Hamburgers are one of the best....the Salas is always fresh and are great with the tortilla chips. more
