This is one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure to visit. The people that work there are great, everyone has a smile on their face and are happy to serve you. Our waitress Tracy was very helpful and recommended the asparagus beef and the firecracker shrimp, both dishes were delicious and you can tell that they make their dishes fresh when you order. I live in Livonia and will be driving to Novi from now on to get my carryout. I urge everyone that enjoys great Chinese Food to try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed! I highly highly highly recommend this restaurand for several reasons. First, the service is superb. I've always said that you can go anywhere to get good food, but what people remember is the service. When you walk in you are greeted with a warm smile, and when you leave you always get a thank you...whether it be from the hostess or from one of the owners from behind the bar, they make a point to let you know they are thankful you chose their restaurant. It isn't just the regulars that get the warm greetings and goodbyes...I always sit at the bar and eat, so I am near the door and can hear them. It is literally every person that walks in the door that is made to feel like they have been coming their all their lives! Secondly, the food. Earlier I said that you can get good food from anywhere...because I believe that if you are a restaurant , especially in this economic time, that you server "good" food...and people are relatively satisfied. I can tell you with complete honesty that I have NEVER been disappointed with a meal I've eaten at China Cafe. I have been going there for over 6 years, usually at least once a week...and I have tried almost everything on the menu (and a lot of things not on the menu!). If you are in one of those finicky moods, just let them know what you feel like and they will accommodate you. Another thing I'd like to mention about the food is the pride the owners take in every dish that is served. Kelly (one of the owners) is in the kitchen each night, working on the line and cooking alongside his kitchen staff...he takes great pride in the dishes that they create and it shows in the quality of food that they serve to their guests. Lastly, the atmosphere is incredible. Definitely not what you would expect to find in any Chinese restaurant, especially one tucked in a small plaza. The decor is modern, with a Chinese flair (a fusion if you will!) You can easily spot the influences of the Asian culture without it being like what many of us imagine a typical Chinese restaurant looks like. I think that the genuine friendliness of the owners and the staff somehow carry over to the guests. I say that because I always see smiling happy faces, either in the dining room or at the comfortable bar. I always eat at the bar, and the other guests are always conversing and laughing and enjoying themselves...it truly is an experience. Anyone who enjoys great food and a comfortable atmosphere needs to make a visit to 10 Mile and Novi road. From just the website and location, I asked for a buffet dinner to be delivered for 50 people in town for a competition. What a great find!! From the moment I called, they could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Food was delivered early, hot and in great quantity complete with chopsticks, plates, napkins, serving utensils, fortune cookies and even little signs to identify the different trays. The food got rave reviews and the cost per person was cheaper than our boxed lunches! We will definitely be calling again when we return next year. Pros: Fresh tasty food, excellent service & attention to detail Cons: Too much great food!! more

WE MADE RESERVATIONS AT THIS RESTAURANT FOR MY BIRTHDAY. WHEN WE ARRIVED WE GREETED THE HOSTESS. WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE A FEW MINUTES. Great place to eat, hang out for a cocktail or pickup a carryout. The food was fantastic and the owner you can tell takes great pride in his food. I sat at the bar to eat. Very little smoke and the service was perfect. Pros: Food Cons: Can get there enough more

It is perhaps the best Chinese food store in the entire area. The people are very amiable and the food is consistently good. I have the orange chicken almost once a week as my reward for making it through the week. I have also dined there with friends and the atmosphere is not what you'd expect to be lying along a strip mall; it is very sheik. My only critique was that the egg roll recipe has changed and not for the better. Aside from that, I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Chinese and classy atmospheres. I traveled from the East side of Detroit to experience exceptional Chinese Cuisine @ the China Cafe. The atmosphere and freshly prepared Chinese Cuisine was fantastic. I did not realize how the food could differ in such a wonderful unique way. My meal was prepared fresh and made to order with fresh vegtables & other fabulous ingredients. This was the best Chinese Cuisine I have ever experienced, the staff was exceptional and the pride taken was apparent by the food, service and establishment. If you are looking to experience great Chinese I highly reccomend the China Cafe in Novi ( You Won't Be Disappointed)! Pros: Best Chinese / Great Atmosphere Cons: None more
