Two things: \r - Sign by the road advertised $19.99 oil change. I drove in, had an oil change, and was charged $29.99 plus tax and assorted fees. When I asked about the price increase, he said it was because I asked to have my brakes looked at which made it ""special"" not basic. This should have been explained at the beginning.\r - During conversations about my car trying to get pricing options on new brakes, Steve (manager) was often rude and even hostile. He is in the wrong job for sure! \r I finally decided that I didn't need the stress and brought my car to another shop since I want my business to be valued. Unless you're pretty knowledgeable about your car, and about how much the service should cost, I would stay FAR away. I am a loyal goodyear customer. I've been to Gemini stations in Austin, Dallas, and Spring TX with a number of different vehicles. I've had fantastic luck -- honest people, good work. This was a major exception. First, I received a quote for a 30k mile check up on my car from my dealership and from another location, when I got there Steve sized me up, and explained that it would take ""at least one hour of labor"" and gave me an estimate HIGHER than my dealership?! Plus he was rude and curt the entire time. I explained that I'd go ahead and pass on the 30k mile check up because it seemed a little pricey. From there he tried to bully me into it! Finally, I dropped my car off around 11 am. He said it would take at least 1.5 hours (for an oil change?!) so I said I'd come back for it when it was finished and gave him my phone number. 30 minutes before they closed (I didn't know their Saturday hours), and asked if I had any plans to pick up my car today. His tone was rude, and said I better hurry up because they were going to close. I apologized saying I must have missed the earlier call, he said I never asked for a call so they didn't call. All in all, it was a stressful, and unpleasant oil change that didn't have to be. Steve has absolutely no interest in customer service, I will never go back. I had to check for exhaust leaks as the car was loosing power. I stopped by their place and explained the problem to Steve and said it can be due to exhaust and wanted to know more like how much money is needed to fix it. Steve said it can be due to more than one problem and he has to run a FREE diagnostic and give me quote so that I can decide to pay from my pocket or by insurance, and it would take a day for that. He had the car for three days and I called for quote to talk to insurance company. He said to stop by and would explain when I come to take the car. I stopped by, steve wasn't there even though he said he would be there at that point of time. his colleague gave me a paper which says ""exhaust leaks"" . I explained him that I already knew it and I wanted a quote to talk to insurance people. He said they did not know that I asked for quote and denied to call steve, it was a business hour. And on top of all that he charged me 44.60$ and when i denied he made fun of me and embarrassed me, said nothing in this world comes for free and said I was lying to them and I am a LIAR. He said I have to pay the amount to get the car or come the next day or when ever steve was around to talk to him, and then take the car. I did pay and got home. called steve next day and surprisingly received the same answer that they dont work for free and nothing is free in this world. And when I tried to explain everything from the beginning, he said If tried to talk about that he (steve) would call police to file charges.\r \r I was told that---- they would give me FREE quote in a day for exhaust and other repairs\r I was given----- billed for 44.60$, a paper which says exhaust leaks( which I already knew),NO QUOTE, had no car for three/ four days, and was called STUPID and a LIAR.\r \r I lost time, money, respect for nothing. I called two days ago and talked to the owner Steve, I made arrangements to bring my truck in for the weekend for routine maintenence. On Friday morning I called again to confirm and to get an estimate of what the charges might be. Several hours later, afetr not receiving a return call, I called Steve back. Not only had he not considered my estimate request, but he excused himself by stating other customers were leaving town and ""needed"" his attention. Moreover, he had lacked the foresight to staff for the busy weekend. I, a regular customer and one that was a ""sure thing"" for the weekend could wait. I needed the estimate, so I asked him for a nearby store that might give me an estimate; my intention was to still bring my truck in to Steve's location which happens to be very close to my home. Steve denied having any contacts. i reminded him that I have been there when he or his staff has called associates in the past. At this point I was simply called a liar! Unbelievable. My recommendation is to never go there or even slow down going by it. I am a 15 yr veteran of Discount Tire but after much research decided to try Goodyear Gemini mostly due to location conveniece & $. I was looking for inexpensive tires & found them here. I was very disappointed to find when I picked up my car, none of the tires were what we had agreed on and the rear passenger tire was completely different than the other 3. I wouldn't have minded that much given I was buying cheap tires, but they didn't tell me this upfront. I had to bring it up to them before they explained why-which was they were out of the inventory. I won't be going back to them, I'd rather go back to my old faithful who I can trust to at least be upfront with me. more
