Great experience 4/9/2014

We took our kids to Dr. Mark last spring to see about braces. We were taken back to see Dr. Mark right on time, and the staff was so nice and courteous. Dr. Mark spent a considerable amount of time assessing our kids' needs for braces. He answered all of our questions without making us feel rushed. He was so laid back and matter of fact. more

Love Dr Mark 3/24/2014

Dr Mark is amazing with kids!!!! My kids love to see him and they are always talking about school or their sports or anything else that is going on in their lives during their appointment. He cares about them as people, not just patients. When they were just little tots he was very friendly and made them feel at ease. My son actually fell asleep having a filling done. I would not have believed it, if I hadn't seen the whole thing. When I have questions he sits down and looks at me in the eye and explains things so I can understand. I don't feel intimidated when I talk with him. The staff are great and so good with my kids. I've sent many friends to Dr. Mark and they have sent their friends to him as well. I don't think you'll find a better place to take your kids. more

Great Dentist!- Quality Dentistry 3/18/2014

If you are looking for a dental practice that provides quality dental care with a caring knowledgeable staff- this is it. Dr Mark is an excellent dentist with attention to detail and is very personable. My kids feel very comfortable with Dr Mark and the staff, and they have seen that going to the dentist can be a fun place.\r I never felt pressured into scheduling, but after Dr Mark thoroughly explained our treatment plans, it was clear I would not need to look elsewhere.\r I have recommended this office to many of my friends and they are just as happy with their experiences at Children's Dental Health Center. more

I have been bringing my kids to Dr. Mark for the last 16 years. 3/11/2014

I have been bringing my kids to Dr. Mark for the last 16 years for cleanings, fillings, and braces. Once I came in with my daughter after she fell and was a bloody mess. I was so freaked out and he never became flustered. He calmly looked at her and checked that none of her teeth were chipped or pushed back. She just grazed her gums and that's what was bleeding. I felt so relieved to be in capable and compassionate hands.\r \r I find he is very friendly and patient with the kids. I never feel dumb asking questions and he actually seems to enjoy taking the time to explain things to me. The assistants are very good with the kids to help them feel comfortable and teach them the correct way to brush and floss especially when they were wearing braces.\r \r The open concept is great so you see everything that is going on. There are many kids that I see with special needs there and they are treated with care and respect. I've seen many of these moms get teary thanking Dr. Mark. If that's more

Great Pediatric Dentist!!!! 3/11/2014

My children have been coming to Dr Mark for years! I cant tell them about their appointment until the day of because they get so excited to go, and would ask daily if today is the day they get to go to the dentist!\r \r The office staff is very friendly and helpful, in addition to the girls that do the cleanings. They always make it a fun experience for my children. We will continue to come back and would refer anyone looking for a great pediatric dentist. more

Please be mindful if you go here...my parents loved him, too at first 1/30/2014

I was so sad to read some of the reviews of this place because I suffered abuse from a Dr Steinmetz DDS in Appleton that was very similar to what has been described. He was my first dentist back in the early 80s, and my trauma was so terrible that to this day, I cry and become nauseous just sitting in a waiting room. He would hold me down, scream in my face, put his hands over my nose and mouth so I couldn't breathe, tell me that if I didn't stop crying he would either hit me over the head with a bottle of Brandy he kept in the cabinet or that he would make me drink it and tell my parents that I was a very bad girl. He would tell them that anyway, usually (that I was bad) and I would get yelled at from my patents. I don't honestly know if this is the same guy or his son, but the practices sound the same. more

Horrific: Holding him down and screaming in my 5 year olds face 8/6/2013

Horrific!! I almost starting crying and why I did not do more I will never understand. The way they treat my young child bordered abuse. Holding him down and screaming in his face. The Bruises and swelling it left was awful. This was for a filling the size of the end of a toothpick. My son had to be sedated to go back to another dentist from the trama. I have 3 boys and one has had fillings before (not here) and it was nothing like this!!! I am glad the place was closed when my husband got home and saw all the swelling. Then I talked to other parents and this seems to be a theme of how they treat young children. How can he still be practicing. more

Best Pediatric Dentist! 4/12/2011

The previous reviewer and I must not be talking about the same dentist! Children's Dental Health Center and Dr. Steinmetz are awesome! I have been taking my 4 kids here for years. This dentist was recommended to me by a pediatrician who took her kids there. She told me Dr. Steinmetz is the best and she was right! \r \r The office is warm and inviting. It has a nautical theme, and there is even a big boat in the waiting room where kids can watch movies while they wait for their appointment. During regular cleaning appointments, my kids can all sit in a row and get their teeth cleaned at the same time, this really eases their nerves to be in there together. The hygienists are friendly and great with kids. The appointment/billing area is always well-staffed as well. And of course there's the "treasure box" at the end of the appointments! The dentist and all staff are very courteous, knowledgeable and professional.\r \r Prior to my kids' first appointments, Dr. Steinmetz took x-rays more

Awful! 8/31/2010

Would never recommend this doctor. He and his staff hold down your child and begin procedures without consult or agreement from parents. Not just one visit, but all four. The philosophy, is that the doctor knows best, and just sit down and buck up little ones, even if you are scared! Awful! We will be changing offices and spreading the word!! more
