Fed Up 1/10/2011

It started with ordering take-out from the lunch menu and sometimes getting the drink included, to not getting the drink included. Then it was, your bill is $8.55 and you get back $1.00 from a $10.00 bill--they keep your change. Then it was ordering take-out and them adding a 20% gratuity to the bill. Today, I went there to have lunch. My friend and I each ordered salads from the lunch menu - $6.99 which includes a drink. When we got our bills, they were for $12.30 each. When we brought it to the server's attention, he went to speak with someone but came back and told us we could just pay the amount on the ticket (because he couldn't void it out) and he would give us the difference in cash. We agree to that, but he cames back to us with $2.00 each. When we brought to his attention the difference between $12.30 and $7.48 ($4.82) he ended giving us each $5.00. I don't know what they are trying to pull there, but they won't be pulling it with me. Whoever is managing that place better check the register--there is some hanky panky going on there. I'm Fed Up! more

Insult to ""Chicago"" 1/3/2011

First of all, the food is not even close to anything you would get in Chicago, except maybe East Chicago. You'd find better pizza in the frozen section in Publix. The Italian Beef tasted like a cheap variation of deli roast beef - not at all seasoned. The Mozzarella sticks were also of the frozen variety and nothing like Chicago. Overall, very very poor. more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! 9/5/2010

We went out to the beach to have a chill night and decided we were hungry for some pizza. We landed at Chicago Pizza because we knew the food was good. We were wrapping up our evening, as we knew the place was about to close at 2am. Then, a waiter comes over to tell us it's last call and that we need to be out by 2am. We told him we were working on it and he replies, ""you need to be out by 2am and that's what our to-go boxes are for."" He left our table and we were obviously upset. Most of us at the table has been server or had some customer service job, and we all know that you don't kick a customer out. If they made it into your store/restaurant just a minute before you close, there is nothing you can do about it but talk about it under your breath. That's just how its goes and most of us know what that's like. Well, we asked for the manager, but low and behold, that rude guy was the manager. It was just down hill from there. We asked for his corporate's phone number and he replied, ""I'll give you my corporate's number. I'm not scared."" Okay, that sounds like a manager talking. He did not try to dissolve the issue in a professional manner and never did end up giving us the corporate phone number. When we refused to pay until he gave us an apology, he called the cops on us!! The cops then told us, 'hey, if you had bad service, just don't tip your server.' Are you kidding? The server was a delight. That's just a message to you servers out there..cops don't care about you at all. Paying the bill was never the problem. It was the principle. But when the cops threaten to take you to jail, there's not much you can do. My fiance ended up paying the tab and he did not even eat any pizza or have anything to drink. In fact, none us had any alcoholic beverages. So despite the late hour we were eating at, we were not the drunken misfits they stereotyped us to be. We never did get an apology or one ounce of humility from the managers. Just a promise to get half off our next pizza, as if we're going there again! I just could not believe the poor service. It was as if the managers wrote the book on 'how not to treat a customer.' In sum, do not waste your time there. These managers do not deserve the air they breathe, let alone your money! more

Decent Service and Food, Excellent Night Starting Point 12/12/2009

Just arrived to Jacksonville 2 days ago from overseas. I went out with my coworkers and we were seated promptly and had a whole table already set up. You can call ahead, and they will make accomidations. We got the mini-kegs (The Rocket), and the prices were relatively low. Since it's in a pub crawl location, it served as a beachead for the rest of the night. If you want to start the night right, head here and start pounding beers with their specials and cheap beer. Their pizzas are really good, but they seemed a little pricey for the quality (not the best, but good). The atmosphere has a lot of room, and if you want a specific game on, they'll put it on for you. My bartender was really chill, and the place was friendly to military (Marines and sailors were there). Its not the cleanest place, but its a ""by the beach get some pizza"" place, not Wolfgang Puck. Service was a little slow and the waiter was kind of a douche (trying too hard to sound funny), but we had a big order. When my group wanted more beer, we got it fast. Highly recommend for the start of a long fun night with friends. If you're expecting to go for a quality dining experience, you can probably find a better spot in the area. Pros: Good Tasting Food, Location, Relatively Cheap Beer Cons: Service was mediocre more

AWFUL service is an understatement 7/13/2009

Going out for a drink and appetizers, Chicago Pizza is open until 1am. We sit down at the bar around 11pm, order a drink and two appetizers. We finish our drink, chat with other barheads, and wait. And wait, and wait, and wait. 30mins later we ask where is our food, did they forget about us? The bartender goes to check. Comes back and says we aren't getting any appetizers. They don't serve appetizers after 10pm. Well you could have said that when we ordered so we could order something else. By this time, I'm a little upset and getting pretty hungry. So I ask, since this was your mistake for having us wait for food that we would never get, how are you going to fix it, free pizza? Bartender gets bar manager. Very rude! She says we can give you 25% off a pizza and that's it. I say, ""After waiting 45 minutes before someone even mentions that we ordered wasn't served, you can do better than that."" She gets upset and says that I have to talk to management and I ask her to get management. She tells the bartender, ""give them their card and get them out of here!"" WTF? I'm bringing you business and this is how you treat a customer? She never did get the manager so I ask the host to get the manager. I explain to the manager what happened and he said there is nothing he can do about it. Are you kidding me? Why are you even a manager? I am never eating there again and I don't recommend anyone else eat there either. Cons: Rude, disrespectful, awful service more

TERRIBLE SPORTS BAR 5/2/2009

I have seen other reviews on this place on other search sites. Management will treat you like you are 7 years old, talk down to you and act like you are a major inconvenience to them. They have no clue what games are on, who is playing and God forbid you ask for sound! We have tried this place many times with the same results. This is not a place I would ever recommend you go if you want to enjoy your game. OH, and you get to pay for parking if you eat there. They ask for $5.00. WTF??? Pros: 2 cute female bartenders Cons: They will treat you like dog $%&^! more

Rude! 6/30/2008

Once you get past the numerous TVs and cheap beer the staff and management are rude and in attentive. At both this location and at the beach no one is at the hostess stand though they require you to wait to be seated and there are numerous seats available. Pros: TVs Cons: Rude more
