Review content:
We went out to the beach to have a chill night and decided we were hungry for some pizza. We landed at Chicago Pizza because we knew the food was good. We were wrapping up our evening, as we knew the place was about to close at 2am. Then, a waiter comes over to tell us it's last call and that we need to be out by 2am. We told him we were working on it and he replies, ""you need to be out by 2am and that's what our to-go boxes are for."" He left our table and we were obviously upset. Most of us at the table has been server or had some customer service job, and we all know that you don't kick a customer out. If they made it into your store/restaurant just a minute before you close, there is nothing you can do about it but talk about it under your breath. That's just how its goes and most of us know what that's like. Well, we asked for the manager, but low and behold, that rude guy was the manager. It was just down hill from there. We asked for his corporate's phone number and he replied, ""I'll give you my corporate's number. I'm not scared."" Okay, that sounds like a manager talking. He did not try to dissolve the issue in a professional manner and never did end up giving us the corporate phone number. When we refused to pay until he gave us an apology, he called the cops on us!! The cops then told us, 'hey, if you had bad service, just don't tip your server.' Are you kidding? The server was a delight. That's just a message to you servers out there..cops don't care about you at all. Paying the bill was never the problem. It was the principle. But when the cops threaten to take you to jail, there's not much you can do. My fiance ended up paying the tab and he did not even eat any pizza or have anything to drink. In fact, none us had any alcoholic beverages. So despite the late hour we were eating at, we were not the drunken misfits they stereotyped us to be. We never did get an apology or one ounce of humility from the managers. Just a promise to get half off our next pizza, as if we're going there again! I just could not believe the poor service. It was as if the managers wrote the book on 'how not to treat a customer.' In sum, do not waste your time there. These managers do not deserve the air they breathe, let alone your money!
