Editorial review from Citysearch 10/10/2012

Excellent venue for our wedding. We were just married at Chateau on the Creek this 10/6/12 and were very pleased with our experience there. The grounds and house are very charming and open, and we found Kathy to be very kind and professional. We choose the premier package and were very happy with the quality of the food. There were some complications with the DJ but Kathy allowed us to use our own. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/8/2012

My Daughter and Son-in-law are coming up on their 4 month anniversary and I have been to several weddings this summer and I have to say Chateau on the Creek is a stand out for any bride and family planning a wedding in the area. My daughter was married at the Chateau on the Creek this past June and although ?Perfect? seems a strong description of how we were treated it seems to be the only fitting word for Kathy and the staff at the Chateau. We began planning the wedding last fall and from the very first meeting we knew Kathy ran a well organized business. We used the vendors she had on her preferred vendor list for the food (Courtney?s catering), photography (Adam Copeland Photography) and flowers (Fancy Flowers). Of course Kathy made the wedding and grooms cakes and they were nothing short of spectacular. One person told me that they don?t often notice or pay attention to the flowers at a wedding but she couldn?t stop talking about how beautiful the flowers were outside for the ceremony and inside at the tables. As the Mother of the bride I cannot thank all of them enough for taking care of everything. Kathy and her team allowed me the opportunity to enjoy soaking in the beauty of my daughter on her wedding day and spending time with family and friends instead of worrying about the details. By now you might be thinking that I am someone that is easily impressed and that would not be further from the truth. I plan weeklong sales meetings and parties for the company I work for in Austin and to put my trust with someone for my Daughter?s wedding was not easy?..Kathy didn?t let me down. Thank you Thank you Thank you. more

Amazing Experience 5/17/2012

I just had my wedding at the Chateau on May 5th and it was amazing. I went to one of their open houses and from that day, I was hooked! Kathy and everyone were so nice and helpful. They took care of everything. The venue inside and out was perfect, the DJ, the Cake, the Food, it was all wonderful. And the flowers (by Fancy Florals) were gorgeous. It was such a pleasant experience working with them. more

Chateau made my wedding day beautiful! 6/28/2011

I booked my wedding at Chateau on the Creek after talking with Kathy and touring the venue. It was so pretty and I loved how sweet Kathy was. Everything was great. She made the planning of my wedding so easy and she and her staff were very professional and easy to work with. On the day of the wedding the grounds were gorgeous, the inside was decorated just how I asked! Everything went off perfectly! Kathy and her staff were great. The food was excellent. The DJ was great. The florist gave me the most beautiful bouquets I have ever seen. And the cakes...oh my...so good!! Kathy made my wedding dreams a reality. I loved my wedding day! It was perfect! Thank you to Kathy and her wonderful staff!!! more

A great experience 11/10/2010

I am writing this review because I have seen some not so stellar reviews regarding the Chateau. When I first walked in to view the venue they were playing Frank Sinatra and I thought it was a sign. (Seeing as how he is one of my all time favorite artists). After we booked the venue and as time went on, I kept reading reviews and I began to get nervous because...well...they were not great. However, I felt I had to write a review to alleviate some of the future bride?s stressors. I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Kathy at the Chateau. Yes there were times when I may have wanted a certain wedding favor and it was not approved, but that's fine. I understand the purpose. This is their venue that they have to use every weekend for other peoples weddings. I feel that as long as you treat them with respect, they will treat you with respect. Also, people have to pay attention to the contract. Don?t do something it clearly says not to do. Some of the previous reviews did just that. Go in with questions and a vision of what you want. Think of questions for every possible scenario so that you are prepared. The DJ did get the introduction wrong. It was supposed Mrs and my maiden name, but it?s fine that they addressed me by my husband?s last name. They did play some songs that I am not a fan of, but they were very responsive when I gave them a look to change the song. As the night went on, they picked up on the types of songs I liked and didn?t like. The DJ checked with me when they got a lot of request for a certain song that I wasn?t a fan of to get approval. I felt that Kathy was very helpful in answering all of my questions and addressing all of my concerns. I recommend the Chateau to brides who are drama free, know and express what they want, and are willing to be flexible. more

How time flies and memories are cherished! 11/7/2010

It is hard to believe that one year ago today, my husband and I were saying our ""I do's"" on a beautiful day, under the oak trees, surrounded by family and friends. We were reminiscing and going through pictures and celebrating the year that has gone by and I just wanted to urge anyone that is planning a wedding to strongly consider the Chateau. more

Wonderful wedding venue! 10/18/2010

After months of preparations, I was delighted to arrive at the Chateau on the wedding day and simply enjoy the evening. Kathy (the coordinator) and others under her guidance kept things moving, well-orchestrated and organized, while my husband and I enjoyed spending time visiting with guests. Many people approached us during the evening and after the reception, to say what a beautiful setting the Chateau is, how much they enjoyed the delicious meal and cake, and what a good time they had. I was able to use the caterer, DJ, florist, and beverage service company recommended by Kathy, and was delighted with all of them. Kathy herself designs, bakes and decorates the wedding cake-- and we received rave reviews from our guests about the cakes (multiple flavors!) as well. more

Loved My Wedding 10/9/2010

Kathy made our wedding perfect and unique. She really cared about me as a bride and made sure I had everything I needed and that not only was I happy, but my groom and guests. She even went out of her way to sneak some extra cake into our limo for us to have on our way to the hotel. I thought that was so sweet of her. more

It was my perfect day! Outdoor setting was beautiful. 3/28/2010

During our final consultation, we had told Kathy that we needed several handicap parking spaces, one for my great-grandmother who needs a wheel chair to get to and from. The thing that touched me the most was that Kathy's husband came over and helped get my grandmother out of the car and into her wheelchair and then pushed her inside until it was time to start the wedding. They checked on her frequently during the evening including bringing her something to drink as soon as the wedding was over. I enjoyed peaking out of the front window from my bridal suite, watching everyone get seated. When it was my turn, standing at the front door, waiting to make my grand entrance, I got butterflies. However, when I walked outside holding onto my Dad's arm and saw all my friends and family and how gorgeous everything looked, I couldn't wait to get down the isle. The food was great and everyone raved over Kathy's cake. We even took some with us for a late night snack! After the cake they dimmed the lights for lots of dancing. I even had Pete play a few of the old songs that my parents used to dance to (KC and the Sunshine Band ""Get Down Tonight""). It was the perfect evening, not just for me, but for my friends and especially my family as well. Pros: Staff was very helpful, park like lawn, intimate interior Cons: That my wedding had to come to an end more

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! 4/17/2009

I am telling all my friends to have their wedding at Chateau on the Creek! It was perfect. Kathy and the rest of the staff were so nice and helpful. Planning a wedding from another town can be stressful, but Kathy took care of everything. I loved the personal attention she gave myself and my guests, even opening the door and welcoming my guests as they walked into the reception. The food was amazing and Kathy even went through the buffet line and prepared a plate for my husband and myself because we were greeting our guests. The cake was beautiful....and it tasted great! The flowers, the music, the private romantic setting...it really was the wedding of my dreams! I can't thank Kathy and her staff enough for the great job they did. Pros: professional and kind staff, beautiful facility more

Amazing Wedding Venue! 7/29/2008

I was married on 7/19/08 and I could not have asked for a better location. I've read the reviews of Kathy changing once she is paid, and I never saw this. She was as nice and helpful from day one until the wedding and reception were over. Kathy and her mother work as a coordinator day of, and this was made clear. They are not wedding coordinators throughout the entire process, just the day of you event. That worked out perfectly for me and they were so helpful day of. There were so many small things that I didn't even have to worry about because Kathy and her mother took care of it. Such as personal decorations, flowers provided day of for the cake, etc. In fact I had hurricanes with candles to line the front flower beds and they were misplaced twice due to my poor communication. Kathy and her staff had no problem moving them 3 times for me! The wedding and reception without very smoothly and my guests loved it! I had no complaints and tons of compliments about the venue from all of my guests. My husband and I want to eventually go back for an anniversary party because we loved Chateau on the Creek so much. We are going to recommend this venue to any and everyone! Kathy was great, her mother was great, Adam (the photographer they work with) was great, the food was great, and the location is breath-taking!!! Oh, one more thing, the cakes Kathy made for my husband and I were amazing!!! I've never heard so many compliments regarding a wedding cake as I received on mine. Just to let you know I chose the wedding wine cake with a raspberry filling...yummy! Pros: EVERYTHING! Cons: You can only have water in the bridal and groom rooms. more

Ruined our special day!! 7/26/2008

Please beware when you visit this venue. Pros: Nice setting Cons: They are rude!! Little access to bathrooms more

Your day is too important; PLEASE BEWARE 7/26/2008

I appologize for waiting this long to write this review. I see others have also had a bad experience. As others have mentioned, Kathy is very nice until she gets fully paid. It is like a switch. My wedding day: When I first got there, I was walking up and Kathy's husband who I first met to pay the down payment, asked me if I was a delivery person. I guess the bride shirt that my little cousin gave me the night before did not clue him in??? Yes, they invite other potential customers while you are preparing for your wedding. A little awkward but manageable. As my fiance and I were bringing in the supplies (decor) Kathy and Jan were moving the boxes under covered tables. Needless to say, we did not find the personalized dessert napkins until after the wedding. They rest we heard from our wedding party and guests after the wedding. Kathy cut in the reception line before some of our guests. She actually dipped her finger into the salad dressing and tasted it. I was fine with them eating; we had plenty of food. The problem was the event was not for them. It was for our family and friends. We were extremely embarrassed when we heard that. My husband and I left the reception and my family and the wedding party stayed to make sure everything was taken care of. They treated my parents horrible. After we paid them thousands of dollars they have the nerve to treat customers that way. They kept telling my parents that they needed to hurry but if everything was not picked up, it would come out of the deposit. You have no idea how many times you will hear ""It will come out of your deposit if you don't ...."". The best man and another groomsman was still in the room which Kathy and her family did not know. Kathy and her family were talking badly about some of our guests. They started talking about some boxes that were not even ours but since they were in the garage it would come out of our deposit. Luckily the Best Man and Groomsman took them away. (cont.) Pros: Beautiful setting Cons: they ruin the special day with bad service and disrespect to guests more

Chateau Staff Creates a Perfect Wedding 7/2/2008

My daughter, Lindsey's wedding at Chateau on the Creek was exceptional and wonderful in every aspect. I would like to share a few references, recommendations, and positive comments with you.Our vocalist, as well as other guests, were Beta Siga Phi sisters(National Sorority), so if you are a Beta sister, you should tell everyone you know about this wonderful venue. Speaking of sororities, if you are an Alpha Delta Kappa (teachers' sorority) several were there, including a previous district president, who had only the highest compliments for Kathy,Mark,Jan,Jess, and all of the staff. Many of our friends have worked in the media industry and all wedding related comments were extremely positive. On a more personal note, my mother is in stage four cancer, Mark directed traffic expertly, and made sure that she could easily reach the gazebo. Jan checked on her often and caringly met all of her needs. The staff was professional, attentive, caring, and personable at all times. The rehearsal was just as professionally done as the wedding;I'll never forget how Jan and Kathy reassured us by telling us to go back to the hotel, relax, and don't worry they would take care of everything;and they did. Their planning was perfect down to every detail. Kathy's cake, many said, was the best they had ever tasted The bride agreed, and she had tasted many cakes at the two cake decorating classes that she had taken in college before she became a florist. A florist can be very picky about where she has her wedding; I know;I helped her investigate several possible locations before she decided on the Chateau. The interior decorating was elegant, and the outdoor grounds were beautifully maintained. The new sidewalk to the quaint, beautiful gazebo which is not pictured on their website is a work of art in stone demonstrating Austin beauty (we live in a Houston suburb) the bride and groom live in Austin. I know they will highly recommend the Chateau on the Creek to any of their unmarried friends. more

Memories for a Lifetime 6/23/2008

Perfect! Those are the words of my daughter and her husband, as well as many of our guests and relatives. Her wedding was this past weekend, the first day of summer. The well groomed grounds nestled under century old oaks with a beautiful gazebo for the ceremony just set the peaceful mood. What kept me sane through every step of the process were the wonderful people, Kathy and Mark, Janet and Jess, and their staff. From our first appointment, we knew we had been blessed with not only a gorgeous and unique location, but truly friendly professionals. They accomodated our every wish and need. I knew from their website and from my conversations, exactly what to expect. Their combined years of experience are priceless. They kept the sequence of events running smooth and with a calm demeanor. The indoor reception facility provided an elegant setting, it was cool and comfortable for our many elderly grandparents aunts and uncles. Not one complaint from anyone and we had almost 200 guests! Kathy makes the most delicious cakes, an added plus! We had already selected our caterer when we found the Chateau, and they were most impressed with Kathy and Janet's willingness to work with their needs. Our photographer commented on the incredible grounds and the perfect picture opportunities. Did I mention PERFECT? It truly was perfect, in every way and everyone in attendance will remember Desiree and Wesley's special day for life. Thank you Kathy, Mark, Janet, Jess, and staff. You fine folks are the top of the mark! Pros: Friendly professionals, incredible setting and facilities. Cons: There simply were none. Totally Positive In Every Way! more

Absolutely Wonderful 5/31/2008

Having read other reviews, I felt compelled to share my experience at Chateau on the Creek. My time constrained schedule does not allow for the heavy demand of planning a wedding, so it was wonderful meeting with Kathy and her staff in one location and planning my wedding day. Kathy's list of preferred vendors was thorough and covered my needs. Her onstaff photographer and florist met with me at the facility to discuss my needs and I was very pleased with the end result. Jan coordinated my rehearsal and her diligence and experience gave me confidence that all would go well on my wedding day. Kathy and Jan worked very hard to make sure all my needs were met and their expertise and attention to detail brought everything I envisioned to life. From our first meeting until they bid me farewell at the door before our formal send-off, they made me feel like my wedding was the most important event on their calendar! The Chateau setting, with it's lit gazebo, cluster of lighted trees and fire flies, made for a magical evening (I know they ordered the fire flies just for me). All in all, I highly recommend Chateau not only for the convenience and facility but for it's well experienced and warm staff who made planning my wedding a wonderful and enjoyable time. Pros: The Staff and Attention to Detail Cons: Not a One!! more

Don't miss out on this spectacular location! 5/27/2008

I had my wedding at Chateau on the Creek three weeks ago. Let me say that my wedding at this venue was more than I ever imagined! Kathy (the owner) was extremely helpful in working with us, and she made the experience very easy in planning our wedding. She was so accomodating to what we needed with our wedding. We were able to get everything at this one location which took the stress out of planning such an important event! The venue is absolutely beautiful, and getting married in the gazebo was exactly what I imagined my day to be like. A creek flows beside the gazebo, and they have a huge yard that my photographer used to take amazing pictures. Kathy also did our cakes for us, and they were both beautiful and delicious. The other vendors that Kathy recommended (DJ, photographer, florist, and caterer) were all very professional and fun to work with. All in all, I was very pleased with what I received from Chateau on the Creek. In fact, I was very surprised to read the other reviews because my experience was beyond spectacular. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a quaint place to say ""I do""! Pros: Great to work with; ability to put all parts of my wedding together Cons: no multi-media equipment; had to bring my own computer for slide show more

Decent location, poor customer service 5/25/2008

First, the good: The location is somewhat secluded, yet close in to town. They have an open yard and a stream out front of the building allowing good locations for picture taking. The food trays were well prepared and presented, and the cake was well done. Pros: Close location, secluded feel Cons: Highly unprofessional people more

Great setting - Very bossy and unprofessional staff 5/25/2008

The location is great-pretty close to town. The outdoor area is very well groomed and the building is cute and good for a smaller wedding. They food was presented well. Pros: Location, building, outside setup, food presentation Cons: Staff's unprofessional and unfriendly demeanor, did not provide what was promised more

nice location/ unprofessional staff 5/25/2008

The Chateau on the Creek provides a beautiful manicured outdoor location and a rustic stone lodge indoors which provides ample space for a small wedding. The groom's room is decorated comfortably and the bride's room has large mirrors, private bathroom and plenty of space for primping. Pros: Facility, Refreshments Cons: Staff, Service more
