Good Thai Food. Great place for lunch. 10/13/2009

I really like Thai Food. I live in Burbank and so Chadaka Thai would be an obvious location to try out. I went with my boyfriend for lunch. He ordered a Chicken Curry dish and I had a Green Beans / Shrimp dish. The food was decent, I especially liked my boyfriend's dish. I find my entree a bit too spicy though. *and I can eat above average spicy-ness* Now, having relocated to Los Angeles recently from Indiana, I would consider this really good Thai Food. But compare to Hong Kong or Thailand... Err... It's OK at best. Bottomline : will be back! Pros: Inexpensive lunch prices Cons: A bit too spicy more

gourmet thai food 8/19/2009

Chadaka thai has good food. however it is a more high end gourmet kind of thai food instead of more traditional family style cuisine. It was good food but not the best Pros: good food Cons: pricey more

Spicy Food just became Overly Sweet 6/29/2009

Its high time they shut this place down. Used to be good when they started. They started degrading on a downhill and yesterday was my worst experience.\r Hoping to have a fulfilling sunday lunch, we walk in at around 12:30 and find ourselves alone. The crew was yapping inside the kitchen and we had to yell for a hello.\r We asked for the food to be extra spicy. The panang curry was sweet, the eggplants in it seemed to be a last minute raw addition. The fried rice was devoid of any vegetables, for a vegetarian fried rice.\r We paid 65$ for a lunch of 3 entrees, one starter and iced coffees.Such a waste! Cons: Bad Service, Overpriced Menu, Uncooked curries more

Never Disappoints 4/28/2009

I'm a regular customer here. Been coming to Chadaka for nearly 3 years. This place never disappoints. I particularly enjoy sitting at the half-moon bar for a drink and dinner on weeknights. The food is fresh and fabulous, the ambiance is trendy yet cozy, and the owner there is incredibly attentive. Lychee martinis are to die for, and it also makes for a great date spot, too! As far my fav dishes go, I would probably say Crab Noodels & Crying Tiger... I have referred so many friends to this place and all have been very pleased. Check it out for yourself! Pros: Ambiance, HappyHour (esp w/ bartender Nate), Delicious Food more

Pleasant Experience at Chadaka 12/31/2008

Chadaka Thai was a breath of fresh air compared to our only other Thai experience in LA which was on Brand Blvd. Chadaka had great music, ambiance, and decor. Very hip. The food was fresh, clean, and tasty. Good portions too! I love the Tom Kha and the curry. The service was average. Friendly, but not exceptional. It was more the experience of an urban chic atmosphere. A great place to enjoy a New Year's Eve dinner, I wish I would have known about the party after, would of got there a little later. Pros: Ambiance, Food, Music Cons: Slow service more

Food was very good. I will order from there again. more

good food and lacking service 8/28/2008

There weren't any staff in sight when we entered. The restaurant is well decorated, it looked clean and neat. The place settings do not include knives! There weren't any knives on any of the tables, only forks. When we asked for some, they only brought one, so it turns out we had to share. The waitresses were dressed very unprofessionally. One had a sweet-sixteen dress on, and the other one was wearing a knit shirt as a dress. The food was pretty good, but got cold quickly. I would, however, recommend the peanut sauce chicken skewers with cucumber relish. The chicken curry was tasty, a little too watered down for my taste. Also, liked their ""champagne cocktails"", such as, their Maui Sunrise. Their happy hour prices are great: $5 per appetizer and $4 for cocktails. Pros: Good drinks, food, and prices. Cons: Service not professional. more

Watch out for... 7/5/2008

I love Thai food and the food at Chadaka's is tasty. However, beware... I got very ill after eating bad shrimp at the restaurant and will never return to eat there. I love thai food and the best thai restaurants in my opinion are hole in the wall thai places; and the employees there are usually way nicer. Don't let the elegant look of Chadaka's fool you. If you get sick the employees of the restuarant will not acknowledge it! Cons: Service more

Over-salty soup, chewy meat, hectic service! 1/17/2008

While the atmosphere is modern and trendy, the food does not live up to the promises. The soup was saltier than the Dead Sea, so I had to return it; fortunately the next attempt was okay. But while I was still busy with the soup, they pushed the main course on me and tried to take away my wife's soup while she was still eating. And then the beef turned out to be like rubber. What a waste of time and money! Pros: Ambience, Parking Cons: Food, Service more

BAD MEAT! 12/9/2007

their meat was livery tasting and tough! What is it with thai restaurants in particular using cheap subsitutes. Their recipes are good, everything else was tasty, but the meat in both orders was well below average, more like street market quality meat. I AM NEVER GOING BACK Pros: soups, noodle dishes Cons: meat and poultry, bad service, unhappy looking waiters more

Great service! 10/1/2007

I took a friend here based on these reviews and I couldn't have been more pleased. My friends and I have Thai food all the time at various places in the Pasadena-Glendale area and I've decided that Chadaka will be my preferred place for Thai.\r \r The food is solid with most of your standard dishes. I always try to get the Pad Thai when I go to a new Thai place so I can compare, and I really enjoyed the Pad Thai here. My friend got the peach salad and really enjoyed that. Next time I'll try something more unusual.\r \r What really stood out to me was the decor and the outstanding service. The atmosphere was intimate without being stuffy and it was great to sit outside and people watch. The service was excellent and attentive and I even made it a point to thank the owner for the great service. \r \r It's a good place to go with a few friends and have a good time, or to take a date for an relaxed but intimate dinner. more

nice mood, nice food 7/22/2007

I've only been to chadaka thai a couple times but I found those couple times very pleasant. The first thing I noticed about this place is it's setting. Although it's not a very big restaurant, the environment is very quiet, pretty, and dim. The food is also very tasty. It's one of the best thai foods I've tasted. It's a perfect place to go eat out with your boyfriend or girlfriend and family as well. It's a walking distance from the mall, movie theater, and other popular stores so after you're done eating, you'll have other entertainments to turn to. Take-outs are also available. Cons: parking more

Trendy but not tasty 7/21/2007

A reservation is a must for this attractively decorated restaurant. The menu looks great but our chicken and beef were so overcooked and tasted like cardboard. I would never go back. more

Make it a Happy Hour Tradition! 7/2/2007

Somehow, Chadaka Thai is easy to pass by, but the flavorful food and innovative drinks make it a place worth hunting down and checking out. \r \r It's my favorite of the owner's three restaurants, especially because I can make it here for happy hour! The discounted drink and appetizer menus is always unexpected and delicious, and it all ends up being very reasonably priced when you split the bill between a few friends. \r \r I recommend the drunken noodles, pineapple shrimp fried rice (NOT overly sweet!), the jungle curry, and the catfish. As for parking, if the closest lot on Palm fills up there are about 10 more within a mile radius--just drive a block or two! Pros: Good food, innovative drink menu & a hip, casual atmosphere Cons: Might need a reservation for dinner more

best place for thai food 6/17/2007

One of my favorite restaurants in the Valley. The food is great, service is very good, and the staff is friendly. The place is kind of small, but perfect for a first date, or just to hang out with friends. Can't say anything bad about the food. I have tried pretty much everything on their menu and not once have I been disappointed. I am one that doesnt really like curry, but their chicken with curry and coconut milk is AWESOME. I thought it was going to be sweet, but it is just perfect. They also have a good variety of beer, for those who enjoy a nice cold beer. The only problem is the parking, but just park around the corner at the structure and you will be ok. Other good thing is that you dont need reservations, unless you are going with a party of 5 or more. Great place, and highly recommend to anyone! Pros: staff, food Cons: parking, drinks more

BURBANK 6/15/2007

Yup, again my job at FOX takes me to the valley to get some post work done. Read about Chadaka here at Citysearch, had to check it out. VERY GOOD! Beautiful decor, outstanding food and an incredible happy-hour. Bar staff was very friendly, and to my suprise the customers were great. I'm a self admitted SF snob, so Valley people frighten me. Actually looking forward to my next trip to Chadaka and the San Fernando Valley. Pros: ALL GOOD Cons: ZERO more

parking??? 2/2/2007

We had Prok Chop and Musanun curry lastnight. It was really good, service was great, manager came by the table to make sure things are fine. We really need more this type of restaurants in Burbank. Pros: great food and service Cons: parking??? more

SO-SO 1/30/2007

I truly expected much better based on the review I read here. The food was average with a slightly above average price. AND the service was horrible. I would reccomend any of the martinis and the thai fried rice. I DON'T recommend the Thai Beef Salad. The beef was not good at all!! Pros: Very nice ambiance and good drinks. Cons: Horrible service and not so choice meats more
