Five Stars.\r My three daughters have been under Dr. Mike's care for the last two years and I could not be more pleased with the practice. \r The staff is cross-trained, friendly and they care about the patients.\r Dr. Mike is compassionate, funny and patient. He has a gift for explaining things to my children in a way that they can understand and, instantaneously, can switch and talk to me with tremendous knowledge and great professionalism. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/23/2012

Bucks County Pediatrics is the best!!! They have been caring for my 2 children for over 4 years. I had to write this review because I stumbled upon one negative review and it is completely inaccurate and poorly written. In response to that review, I have to say that I have yet to find a doctor who is going to cover your baby with a blanket while he is trying to do a thorough exam on said baby. Also, all babies/young toddlers cry when they are examined, and your statement that Dr. Cawley is not gentle, is simply not accurate at all! No doctor is going to be able to calm your baby when they are of a certain age. The best the doctor can do is get the exam done quickly, so the mother or father can comfort the baby. My own review is as follows - When my children were born, I was a very nervous and overprotective new mom. I needed to be with an office I could trust 100%. From day one Dr. Cawley has always been available if I have questions or concerns. My youngest child had colic and other mild health problems when she was born. I would call his office constantly, because I didn't know what to do. He reassured me that everything would be okay, and he and his staff gave me helpful tips to help me and her get through it. He said after about 3 months she will start to calm down, and at 3 months she did get better. With his guidance, her other health issues got better as well. Also, when he would do an exam on my baby, he would get down to business and tried to make the exam thorough, but quick, so that I could pick my baby up and comfort her as soon as possible. Now that my children are a toddler/preschooler, he jokes with them during the exam, and they love it. The staff is also wonderful and very friendly. I trust Dr. Cawley and his staff 100% and I would be very upset if I had to go anywhere else. They are the best. more

The best around!!!! 1/17/2012

To start this off...I just read and re-read ""Aurora A's"" review, and this woman is further from the truth! my daughter is now 4 months old, and just recently had her 4 month appointment...and yes, I too got the paper on introducing solid foods. And Dr Cawley did dicsuss how to get this ball rolling. ask questions if you are not sure of something, they are more than willing to answer!\r I too wondered why the waiting room was never packed with families waiting to be seen? So, I asked the front desk woman, and for the life of me I forget her name, But , she told me that they schedule accordingly( if they can help it) so ""our families dont have to wait."" Which I welcome, who wouldnt?\r \r This practice is fabulous! I never, ever have to wait, and if I did, that would be ok, because I never have too. I think Dr Cawley is very accurate and very thorough. Babies cry when they are undressed, held down, checked out..get over it. I'd rather have my daughter cold on the white paper, while the doctor looks her over, then covered in a blanket, and him miss something important.\r and I highly doubt that the doctor refused to talk with this family, I have peppered this poor man with question after question, and he always makes feel at ease and not rushed. I have even called in and talked with the nurses, who are very knowledgeable, and if they are not sure of the answer, they honestly say, that they are not sure and ALWAYS get back to me after talking with the doctor.\r For a small office, I still am amazed at how they do it all, but they do; from the scheduling, to the paperwork and forms they have to get done, for my daughters daycare.\r Dr Cawley is lucky to have the girls he has working for him. I have to say I really connected with Christine, the main nurse there, she recently had a baby and has given some useful mommy tips(thank you Christine!) and the front desk nurse, cant remember her name, sorry, but know her daughter is due to have a baby.....See.....can you get this in a large practice with 7-8 doctors, doubt it, Im sure the front desk people barely even talk with you!\r hope this helped!\r \r \r more

Bad pediatricians 12/13/2011

I will start with the good point. This practice is very small - only one doctor Cawley and couple nurses. You usually do not need to wait in the lane and it is always empty. Fist, we thought it is a good thing - no wait time. But then I started wondering why people not coming here? And very soon I realized that this is not so good pediatrian practice and that`s why people are not comming here. And here is the reason. When we came with the newborn baby Dr. Cawley did the check out. He was not gentle and accurate. His hands were cold and he put the baby at the cold table covered with the white paper (not even blanket!) baby started crying immediately but Dr. did not make any effort to calm him down. We are new parents but Dr. did not make any effort to talk to us and get us now better and tell us about new baby. He was VERY formal. This is not what to expect from small private practice, right? Our baby had some colics and other problems with constipation and we tried to reach the doctor to talk to me but he refused to talk to us and nurse gave us very useless advise. Thanks God, we called our midwife and she gave us very helpful recommendations. Ok, we decided may be fist impression is wrong and we should try it again. So, we came for the immunization and even so it was not any people in the lane we had to wait with the crying baby for 30 min for doctor to come to us. They gave him immunization and then doctor gave us a paper with some notes how to introduce the fist food and again he did not talk to us. Also, it looks like he does not have any children by himself and do not know how to connect to kids. our baby hates him. As soon as he sees him he starts crying. So now we are living this practice and I am surprised were those positive reviews came from. May be this doctor is better to older kids? more

great doctor but for us payment hiccup... 11/29/2011

Overall, this practice is really good but for us, not accepting our Insurance's Health Savings Account card prevented us from continuing to utilize their services. Sadly, we were never informed they did not accept this fom of payment and only learned about it post bill. We felt this should have been disclosed clearly beforehand. It ended up being a lot of unnecessary (paper) work on our end to get reimbursed by my insurance. This was unfortunate, as Dr. Cawley was a really down to earth, warm individual who seemed to have strong medical knowledge base and really listened to your concerns. We were seen immediately when one of my kids was sick and never had to wait. . The office runs smoothly, especially for a one doctor practice and the staff are pretty friendly and receptive to concerns and questions you have. more

The BEST Pediatrician EVER! 7/5/2011

Bucks County Pediatrics is an amazing place to take your children and I can not say enough about it! Dr. Mike is absolutely amazing with all 4 of my kids. When my daughter Maddie was 6 weeks old I called to take her in because she had a very high fever. As soon as we got there Dr. Mike checked her thoroughly and then very calmly told me to pack her up and take her right to the emergency room. As a first time mom I went into a panick! But Dr. Mike and Nurse Kristen kept me calm and cool and got me to the car. It turned out that my daughter had meningitis and would have died if we had waited even a few more MINUTES to take her! I tell everyone that Dr. Mike saved her life and I will be grateful to him and his staff forever! On another account, as soon as we got out of the hospital he diagnosed my same daughter with hip displasia! When we went down to CHOP the doctor down there said that I must have a phenomenal doctor because even he wouldn;t have bee able to tell that her hip was displaced from an exam!! The staff is amazing, and they always get you in, even with there only being one doctor. They always know it's me when I call and just make you feel so incrediblly welcome! I will never use another pediatrician for my kids and I tell everyone who will listen to take their children here! They are second family to us and I know they make everyone else feel the same way! more

Wonderful office! 6/16/2011

For a single doctor practice, there is rarely a wait to get in. I have never had any problem getting my children in to be seen, same day sick or general appointments. I like the feeling you get when you walk in, they greet you by name and make you feel welcomed. Dr. Mike has a great relationship with the kids, they like coming to the doctor. And one of my favorite things is that he explains to the kids what he's going to do before he does it and then will explain to them why - they feel apart of the appointment. A great practice that I will use to measure any other doctors by. more

Amazing Practice 10/26/2009

I never have a problem having my child be seen same day when he's sick. Really friendly nurses and Dr. Cawley is amazing, he actually listens to what you are saying and is great with my son. My son actually likes going to the doctors so it's never an ordeal to get him to go see Dr. Cawley. Love this practice! Pros: one doctor more

one doctor practice. great staff. get to talk to a person when calling during hours, not a recording. 2/21/2008

As stated this a single-doctor practice.\r You always know you are gonna see. Dr Cawley is a great doctor. and my children ask now to see him when they are sick or dont feel well.\r We usually see the same nurse too, which is nice. I never feel like a number when I call in. It is a very comfortable atmosphere. they really take the time to get to know you and your children.\r \r When Dr. Cawley is off, there is always another doctor to speak with, of course they dont know my kids, but glad they are there, just in case.\r The staff is always helpful and friendly.\r I've never had a problem with making appointments, even getting in the same day that I call.\r The office is always clean, and we dont wait in the waiting long at all, even in the winter months.\r Sometimes the nurse is there ready to take us back before we even sit down!\r more

great doctor-staff-patient relations. Phone answered by a person, not a recording. 2/21/2008
