STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! 12/14/2011

First off id like to point out that the 6 star review on this page was obviously meant to be a 1 star if you read it. This place has the absolute WORST customer service I have ever dealt with!!!! Not to mention the sleazy salespeople. AHHH! I AM MAD AT THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! Once i decided on a mattress, they quickly did the paperwork with me, and told me the mattress would arrive in one week. This was on 11/20/11. One week later, no call, no mattress, So I call and they say it will be another two weeks. Two weeks go by and no mattress, no call again. So I call AGAIN and now "" It will for sure be there 12/14"". NO MATTRESS NO CALL AGAIN! I call on the 12/14 and they wont even give me a date anymore, they say some time at the end of the week. And the people I talked to were being rude when I mentioned how unprofessional they are. I OFFICIALLY HATE THIS PLACE!! O ya and one more thing. There have been negative posts on here for almost one year. A representative from mattress world replied to several of these reviews saying that they will always strive for better customer service. Well its a year later and they have done NOTHING to improve obviously its just another one of their sleazy salespeople trying to sound like he/she cares. WHAT A JOKE more

Deplorable would be too nice a word for their service 11/28/2011

6 weeks to obtain a replacement mattress under warranty. Ok, I understood. Then they have an inventory liquidation sale?! Suspicious. My replacement bed was supposed to be delivered on 11/27. No call. I called them. No call back. Called again. No call back. Called again. No bed. Called another number to try and get an explanation and was told someone would call on Monday, 11/28. No call. Actually drove to the store (Cornell). They gave my mattress to someone else. No help from the staff. Got corporate number. Called. Waited on hold and was told ""Chris the p.o. guy"" said it wouldn't be able to deliver until Thurs because they didn't have any inventory. Left a message for Sherry Winer to call me back, no call. I swear if I had a staff as inept as that, they would be fired. Maybe they learn it from Sherry? It's not too late to shop somewhere else!!! Sherry, if you are reading this, this cost me 3 days pay. $570 more

BUY YOUR MATTRESS SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! 11/7/2011

I keep getting the run around. When I first went in, we were just looking around although we had cash in our pockets to buy a mattress on the spot. We weren't greeted, in fact I had to go find someone to help us answer our questions. The guy that helped us was texting on his phone and helping us at the same time. His shirt was untucked and looked not happy to be there. We were done with the service and so we made our way out of the store when he brushed us off saying ""you're not going to find any prices lower than ours, how much do you want to spend?"" We told him our bottom line (which was 400 less than what we really had) and he said okay I will be right back. So he comes back and tells us he found us a bed for 300 and that he could only give it to us at that price if we waited for a 4 weeks to receive it. 900 dollar bed for 300, sure we'll wait. So he filled out the paper work (which didn't include any numbers and was barely legible) and gave it to us. We asked him how is it that the price was so low and he goes, ""My mom owns the company."" Um okay, that's professional alright. But we left okay with the fact that we had saved a lot of money so it was fine. So we wait and wait and wait....four weeks passes by and we have not heard a thing. I call and another guy tells me that it has not arrived and I would have to wait another two weeks. Okay fine, waited another two weeks, we did not hear anything so we call back and are told that it has not come in yet. What the hell?! I asked for my money back and he said I'd have to wait a month to have a check mailed to me. ARG, FINE I'll just wait for the damn bed. I didn't want all this waiting to be in vain. Okay so we wait another week and call and they tell us that the mattress is there but there is no box spring for it. The box spring is on order and should arrive soon. Two weeks later I'm still sitting here with my old bed. That's more than two and a half months people!! I just called and was told that he was with a costumer and would call me back. Well. let's see, still no call back yet. This place has pissed me off and I am generally very understanding that things happened, and we paid very little for a nice bed. At this point I had wished we just went and bought a bed at Macy's or something. You pay for what you get I guess. Lesson learned, never again. more

I feel like I've been scammed. I purchased a mattress from this business on 82nd ave. Was approached by a young kid that was more interested in making sure we knew his mother owned the place than actually giving service..""OK I GET IT I DON'T CARE IF YOUR MOTHER OWNS IT ! GOT IT ?????"" At any rate I needed a mattress badly and purchased one. I paid CASH after I have paid for it he tells me ""oh ya it's going to take 2wks for delivery"" why didn't he tell me that ahead of time? So I called this morning because there's been no follow up on their part. Well they have 88 of this mattress on order. hmmmm oh but I'm number 2 in line to get mine. Oh and they might have it by tomorrow and they can deliver it on wed oh but worst case senario they might get later this week and will deliver it by saturday...JUST GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and by the way it's been over 2wks since I ordered this !!! more

Desperate Hungry Greedy Sales!! 1/15/2011

I felt like the vultures of Mattress Sale descend upon me as I walk into this store. The first question ask was, have you seen our ads on TV and just to see what they'll say, I answered no. Apparently this was not the correct answer, the response by the salesman was ' well where have you been?' mm a little rude but maybe he was being funny. I soon learn that it was not the case. After he got done boasting about how Mattress world is the god of mattresses we were shown some mediocre quality mattresses that was on sale for only today, wow did I get super lucky (i think not). The worst was when I tried to leave. My salesman went on and on about trying to get me into a better mattress today. I politely rejected and said I'll be back another day, then he mention that I should pay 10% down to lock in the price of the sale... mmmm let me think about that one paying to lock down a 'sale price' on a mattress that I really didn't want, again I said no thanks I'll be back and that I need to get going. This was meet with another attempt to get me to buy the mattress, at this point I felt like my life would be threaten if I walk out of the store without a mattress. Wow all I can say is what an experience, I don't wish this type of shopping on anyone. Mattress world Please spend some time to educate your sales team on proper sales etiquette. more

It's not too late...To buy you mattress somewhere else! 1/18/2010

My wife and I walked into Mattress World and were met by a teenage boy, wearing an un-tucked (you could tell it had been tucked in at one point), wrinkled shirt. Skeptical, we had him show us some mattresses. Often he wasn't sure abou the product he was talking about, but kept touting their ""great prices"", showing us adds for ""other"" stores mattress prices. For those of you who don't know, commercial mattress sales are rigged so you can't compare mattresses from 2 different stores. They'll change the name of the style, or add a differnet fabric just so you can't compare. Check Consumer Reports, they state plainly that they can't review mattresses for comparison because of this. Anyways, when we told him we weren't interested in purchasing that day, he gave us the old used car salesman treatment, ""well let me see what we can do for you. We'd really want you to leave with a mattress today."" Upon his returning with ""the new deal"", we told him we ""really"" weren't interested in buying today. He said, ""Well, we really want you to leave with a mattress today."" Sorry not buying today. ""Are you sure, because my boss is really going to be mad at me if I let you leave without a mattress today."" Are you serious? Is your boss also gonna send you to your room without supper or suspend your allowance? Needless to say we left and will never return. Cons: Pushy, inexperienced, unprofessional staff more
