Beautiful haircut - eyebrow wax less than. 9/16/2010

Case Verde is a beautiful Aveda Spa and Salon. It is clean and welcoming when you arrive and the staff offers you cold water or hot tea. I booked a hair cut, brow, and leg wax. Hair cut: Beautifully done by a professional stylist who wasn't chatty and focused on making me feel relaxed. She suggested products that might help my oily hair and gave a great scalp massage. The cut was just what I asked for and I was satisfied. Waxing: The leg was fine and the aesthitican tried her best to distract me because I told her I was scared of the pain. She did a good job and my legs were smooth for weeks. I was less than pleased with my eyebrows though - the shape was all wrong and she took way too much hair off - I was mortified! In her defense I should have spoken up and made it clear that I didn't want my brows to look too drastic. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Casa Verde and will return. The employees are professional and it is clear that they adhere to the Aveda concept. more

don't go there! 8/22/2010

I had a groupon certificate for $125 which I used for a manicure ($40) and a pedicure ($60) and a shampoo and blow dry. I checked their website before making an appointment. They don't list their manicure or pedicure prices; however, they list their shampoo and blow dry at $24.50. So when I made an appointment I asked about the manicure and pedicure prices and was surprised they were priced so high. When I arrived I had a short (15 minute) wait until they asked me to choose a nail color. The little alcove where these are stored was so dark I really couldn't tell what the colors were. I chose one I thought was pinkish red but it turned out to be on the orange side. O.K., my mistake. They seated me on an uncomfortable bench for two people (another person was getting a manicure next to me) where I was given the poorly done pedicure and manicure. They used a stainless steel mixing bowl for the foot bath. I didn't complain because I suppose she did the the best she knew how. I have received manicure/pedicures at the strip mall nail places that were much better for $30. Next she shampooed my hair but didn't even get the neck line wet much less shampooed. I told her I didn't feel the lower back of my hair got shampooed. She said it will get wet when I comb it. She did an o.k. job with the blow dry but I was charged $30 for it instead of the price on the website and what I was quoted on the phone. Even though the groupon was priced at $50, I owed another $14.10 plus I gave a measly tip of $15. So I was out appx. $80 for a poorly done mani/pedi and shampoo and blow dry. It was a total waste of my time and money. more

More Than a Facial 1/6/2010

I went in for an Enbrightenment Facial and was pleasantly surprised to receive a complete facial plus upper body massage to enhance the experience! Wonderful - I recommend Diane! more

Facial 12/25/2009

I had a very mediocre facial. The esthetician refused to give me the service I asked for after she had "evaluated" my skin. I basically just got a greasy rub down on my face and had to come home and clean all the goop off my face. I will say she was pleasant though. I've had facials at "schools" that equaled this. Not worth the money or time. more

Never Again!! 8/6/2009

Wish I had visited this site and read the reviews before I visited Casa Verde. All of the written materials in the shop indicate pedicures are $30-50. I was charged $65. When I asked the pedicurist why it was different from all the written materials in the shop she responded with attitude in her voice - she didn't know why, that's just they way it is. That wasn't the worst of it. The pedicure was a mess. Crooked cuts, polish messy and smearing off the edges, it bubbled before I even got home. I emailed the manager and sent photos that evening. Wasn't even given the courtesy of response. I'm in the market for an all service spa to call my own. This wasn't it. Not a very friendly environment. I would NEVER go back...for anything, unless it was for an apology and a refund. more

Great Color 11/18/2008

Hair color - absolutely great. It looked natural and I am very happy. Cut - I don't know if the scissors were dull or what, but I had split ends within 2 weeks and that never happens. I will definitely be going back, but getting my hair cut by a different stylist. Cons: Price of cut was a bit higher than I am used to. more

YAY!!! 5/12/2008

Wow, sorry to hear the review before mine - you should have asked for a manager - if there's anything I know about Casa Verde (been goin there forever!) it's that they'd definitely make it right. Hard to do if the opportunity isn't given. Anyway, I'm 45 and haven't had anything but awesome service there, and they always touch up my makeup before I leave. I know that the people who work there are held to high standards - if the person who helped you wasn't awesome, they won't last long at Casa V. As far as the receptionists go - they are busy and just started oferring appointment reminders by text message so they don't have to spend time calling people and instead can focus on what's happening with the customers that are there getting services (LOVE THAT). I hope you'll give them another shot - try Renee for facials/waxing - she's amazing and she'll complete the service AND do your makeup and she's NICE! Everyone there is very well trained, and if you want to feel like a beauty queen when you leave, see Errol for your hair - he'll do your makeup too (he's straight and there's just somethin' about a straight guy making me pretty...) ANYWAY - you get the picture! BTW, did you know that there are 79 million Baby Boomers (45+), 40 million Gen X, (you) and over 70 million GEN Y, so the truth of the matter is, up until recently, most of the folks working in restaraunts, salons, spas and clothing stores were your age and it won't be long til most of them are younger than you................ Pros: text message appointment confirmations, evening appointments more

Not for Over 30s 4/5/2008

I had a gift certificate and had never been to Casa Verde before. The eyebrow waxing tables were short and uncomfortable (and, I'm not that tall...), but the woman seemed experienced and was nice; she did an okay job but I had to clean up my brows that evening which I've never had to do before... The Signature Facial was a journey in awkwardness. The young woman had difficulty communicating from where to suggest I set my tea as I removed my shoes, to which foot she wanted me to pick up and when. Once we moved to the facial room, she mentioned that the room was chilly and I said it was cold - I mentioned it again during the facial even, but she never did anything about it. She kept spraying scented liquid in the air which literally gave me goosebumps it was so cold. It was as if she was more concerned about "performing" in exactly the way she was trained than in my comfort or my experience. When we were done, she asked me to meet her outside the room (after dressing). There was no mirror or anything and I could not find her to ask where the lady's room was; I blindly pulled my hair back and wiped at my eyes with a tissue I had in my purse... I had to walk out into the bright reception area without any idea of what I looked like - oil in my hair and who knows about my makeup. I was going to ask for the manager, but everyone there seemed under 20; I think that the staff is young and does not appreciate the vanities/insecurities of an aging woman who just wants to be pampered - and look good (I'm not yet 40). I would only recommend Casa Verde to younger, more free-spirited women who don't care so much what they look like. The young woman - she appeared well under 20 - was well trained in the motions, just not in personalized customer service. Not what I was looking for; I will not be going back. Pros: Staff is obviously well trained in spa techniques Cons: Young staff, staff not able to personalize service, cold/uncomfortable treatment rooms more

Save your money!! 1/30/2008

Save your money!! I've went to Case Verde twice, but only just because I got a gift certificate for X-mas. I would never spend my own money there. I felt really uncomfortable there and the staff is not friendly. I've been to better spa's that are half the price of what they charge. Lilke I said, Save your money!! more

Comfortable 7/10/2007

I had a wonderful experience at Casa Verde. I'm not into massage or other touchy feely, but I did have a relaxing experience with a haircut. Their recently remodeled building is lovely. I was very satisfied with the cut, the stylist was pleasant and cut my hair with my wants and my face shape's needs in mind. The stylist helped me find products that work well at home for my hair type, without being pushy or sales-oriented. I am very satisfied with my experience at Casa Verde and will visit again. more

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! 6/20/2007

I would never recommend anyone going to this place ever! They absolutely messed up my hair. They do not listen to the needs and wants of their clients. The go into a world of their own assuming what the client may need. I went in for hair color - and came out absolutely un-satisfied. The color was not close to what I wanted. The technique was horrible. My hair is absolutely fried! And not to mentioned all of this cost over $180.00. The entire time you are there you cannot even relax one bit. They continuously try to upsale you.... push products on you. And get you to spend even more money with them. I would not recomment this salon / spa to ANYONE! more

Good haircauts, ok spa services, unfriendly receptionists 5/7/2007

I purchased a gift certificate with four different spa treatments there, and so far, the only one that I've been happy with is the hair cut package (scalp massage, cut, accent highlights, and style.) The other packages have all left out one thing or another that was supposed to be included in the visit, and out of three different spa treatments, I've only had one where the woman not only was nice, but seemed to know and be interested in what she was doing. And while there's no pressure to buy things, there's also little customer service. The receptionists are curt and unfriendly. I will say though that the place looks nice now with the remodeling that's been done, and the hair stylists seem knowledgeable. Pros: Good haircuts Cons: Price, incomplete spa services, unfriendly receptionists more

Comfy place to get prettied up 8/22/2006

I really liked this place. I've been there a few times and every time that I have been there, I've been really happy with the outcome of my visit. I've had haircuts, eyebrow waxings, facials, massages, and everything has always been great. I like this place because it feels very serene and friendly unlike a lot of other places Ive been to. I'd recommend it to any of my friends. :) Pros: Good skill, very friendly atmosphere and staff. Cons: Average to high cost. more

Didn't get what I paid for 2/20/2006

I went to get a signature massage with my boyfriend and we showed up early. We were to get in the steam room first, but they turned it on right when we were to get in there, and turned it off after 15 minutes when you're supposed to be in there for 30, so the room wasn't even warm, let alone steamy. I have never been there before and I don't know what they do during a back treatment ( that was part of the massage), so when she didn't do anything to my back, I wasn't sure what to expect. After I paid and left, my boyfriend was telling me about the back treatment they did for him. Then I realized the woman didn't do anything and I paid extra money for nothing. I don't think I'll be going back there. more

Pros: friendly, atmosphere, price more
