Best

Our son has grown so much here. The teachers are kind, patient, and knowledgeable. They had lots of activities and their curriculum helped our son grow into such a smart and kind ...

Worst

These reviews are obviously ever-changing based on the staff (which turns over like crazy) management (also major turnover) and the individual teachers and classes. But if the man...

Are the reviews true? 10/7/2011

The review dates all seem to be entered in just a few days span ..June of this year ..which does not seem so convincing. Can any parents who enrolled their kids here provide their feedback? more

Outstanding Pre-School 6/24/2011

I have two children who attend Carpe Diem, one in pre-school and one in the summer camp. Both love it! This was our third pre-school to try, and we wish we had found it first. My son comes home and tells me new things he has learned each day. His favorite, by far, is music; they learn about a new composer every few weeks. He gets so excited telling me about Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, etc. He is learning to speak Spanish, which is so important here in Texas. My daughter, in the summer camp, enjoys field trips to the local library, Dallas Zoo, various museums, etc. All in all, this is an outstanding school! more

We love Carpe Diem Allen! 6/23/2011

As soon as I walked in the door of Carpe Diem Allen I knew I had found the preschool of my dreams! After visiting 5 very different schools I stopped by Carpe Diem on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Thinking I would just pick up a brochure, I was warmly welcomed in by the Director and given a tour on the spot. From the lobby we entered through the locked door that requires a fingerprint to enter. Instantly I felt like my children would be safe here! It didn’t take long before I noticed how spotless the classrooms were and how happy the children were. I showed up around 9:15am and it was so peaceful, just children learning and playing. There were no children crying for their parents, or chaotic classrooms overrun with too many kids. I learned that my child would have a main classroom, but during the day would also spend time in other classrooms for fun activities such as music, spanish lessons, computer and playtime. It sounded perfect! I was also impressed with the weekly menu and relieved to learn I wouldn’t be responsible for packing a lunch (and now my daughter is a self proclaimed lover of spinach thanks to the Carpe Diem kitchen staff). And as far as I am concerned the best feature of all - the Carpe Diem webcam! I was glued to the webcam for the first few months (ok, maybe I still am)! Between the open communication with the teachers and staff, daily progress report (did I not mention they record everything from what she ate, to how long she napped, to how often she went potty, etc!) and webcam access I feel like I know everything about my child’s day! It’s almost like I’m right there with her! Other things to mention are compared to the competition, the class sizes are much smaller, and the staff turnover is less! When your child is excited to go to school, you know you have made the right choice! more

My prayers have been answered- Thanks Carpe Diem Allen! 6/22/2011

1. Like many new mommies, I was devastated at the thought of leaving my new born @ daycare. I visited 4 other daycares in Allen, but was still unsatisfied. So many babies, so few teachers. I ran across the name of Carpe diem allen on a review forum. There I learned that Carpe had the best student teacher ratio in the area. I toured and confirmed the ratio was 3 babies to 1 teacher- PERFECT! Oh and the webcam- PRICELESS! It's worth every dollar to know your baby will have more one on one care than anywhere else! more

Carpe -Diem A two perspective examination ;) 6/22/2011

My daughter has been in Carpe Diem for almost two years. Her perspective- She loves her teachers and is excited about school everyday. It is so hard to leave the place, she needs to kiss and hug everybody. Our ride home is always full with stories about her day, and the new songs she has learned. My perspective- I was looking for a safe and productive environment for my daughter. Mostly I wanted a place that could enrich her beyond the conventional academic skills that are so important to us. Well…I Carpe Diem does that. I love their activities and their programs. I can truly say that they are Instructional and broadening her knowledge in so many aspects. She learns Spanish, music, and she gets Drama classes…programs which a lot of other schools make you pay extra for. She meets interesting people like police officers and fire fighters, she know about composers (“composer of the month”…so cute), and bout the butterfly life cycle…this is amazing to me. It is a great school! more

Carpe Diem is the BEST!! 6/17/2011

We are so very impressed with Carpe Diem Allen!! My two year old son is thriving in this wonderful school. He has learned sign language which has really helped our communication while he is learning to talk. The teachers have done an excellent job of teaching the students how to share and play with others. He has also learned to pick up his toys and clean up which is such an important skill to install at this early age. With the dedicated music teacher and music time, I have noticed that he also begun to recognize songs and really enjoys singing them with you. He seems to come home every day and have learned something new.\r In addition to the skills that my son is learning, I have to mention how wonderful the staff is. My son’s teachers are so caring and helpful. I have greatly appreciated their patience and guidance as we have gone through a few “terrible two” moments:) I have gotten to know several of the other teachers and feel so comfortable for my new baby girl to start there in July. The Owner, Director, and Assistant Director are so friendly and engaged. They do an excellent job of running this school! We feel blessed to have our kids at Carpe Diem Allen.\r more

Great preschool 6/10/2011

If you are like me, you would have probably investigated all the schools(note -ALL) in the area and within driveable distance to your work and toured each of them atleast 2/3 times. \r Carpe Diem was always our first choice. I could walk into this school anytime to take a tour and ask more questions and the directors were always willing to address them. That impressed me most and the fact that things were always in order anytime I visited.....and the most important thing you would want to know is.........Nothing changes.......the love, the attention is always the same even after you join the school. \r \r I am so happy with the school. Allen is a fairly newer center and I really wish they had started much earlier. \r more

Hello! We have a lot in common if you just googled this! :) Reseaching all schools you are interested in is important. Rest assured, Carpe Diem of Allen, is a brand new, fully secured, SCHOOL, and not just another babysitting company. In my opinion, the teachers are maternal, and understand where you are coming from. I have placed my two young children in different schools, and this one far out weighs them. I could not believe my 4 yr. old, on the first day, ran up to the friendly director, and gave her a hug!? He had been crying (sometimes a kicking battle) with me EVERY morning at the other school at morning drop off. Trust me, I was just as shocked, and so was the director. I remember my little toddler, did not cry when being held for the first time by a new teacher either. I like how the infant room has a little sleeping area for cribs. He has since moved up to the toddler room. The curriculum is a great program - learn something new everyday! The teachers are trained to watch out for those with allergies, whether it's food, or the laundry detergent they use on their sheets. It is peanut free. CD has a library, computer lab, music room, and large activity gym for variety, so they are not confined to 1 classroom all day long. The playgrounds are age appropriate, fun, and secure. They have their own cook, so breakfast, hot lunch, and snacks are served. The other place we were at did not serve breakfast or lunch, just crackers for snacks, so let me tell you what a relief that is to not worry about packing lunches, esp. for 2 kids! Another bonus is access via webcam. OMG - how neat is that to be able to take time out of a stressful/busy day at the office, and watch your kids eat, play, and sleep! All this is included in the reasonably priced tuition. The only thing they do not have is a Before school program, which is still a little far off, but then again I look at things long term. Most of all, I think my two little toots, I mean boys, have learned so much at CD Allen - I highly recommend it! Remember, happy kids = happy parents! :)\r \r more

Carpe Diem Private Preschool - Building A Foundation For A Lifetime Of Learning

Owner Message
  • At Carpe Diem in Allen, we provide a strong foundation for children by teaching them how to learn. Our curriculum emerges from the child's interest and through experiential learning. We encourage every child to ask "why?" and discover the answers for themselves. Our programs also include character-building activities that teach the importance of fairness, integrity, and honesty. This approach inspires our students to think more creatively and develop problem-solving abilities. At Carpe Diem, the interactive process of teaching and learning begins with three core principles:.Carpe Diem teachers take a hands-on approach to implementing a curriculum appropriate to your child's development and maintain ongoing assessments of their progress.
