True Jewel of East Tennessee 3/24/2012

This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was helpful, pleasant, and full of southern hospitality. The bathrooms in the rooms are amazing. The beds are amazing. Absolutely beautiful, the hotel has all antique furniture. I almost wished there was a chain of these hotels, but then it would take away the personal feeling the hotel offers. Very clean hotel. If you wonder about this hotel, wonder no more Book your hotel room now!! The room alone felt like a vacation. My husband and I felt at home. I liked everything about this hotel. I wish I had more time just to look around the hotel like the library. The library looked interesting and amazing. If I ever go back to the Bristol races I will book this hotel time and time again. No signs of bugs dead or alive throughout hotel. Pros: null Cons: null more

Fabulous Day Spa 11/15/2011

I have been going to Austin Springs since they opened the doors, in 2002 (I think). I have had every service they offer and have never been disappointed. Pros: null Cons: null more

Poor experience 7/8/2011

We stayed in this beautiful property over the Fourth of July weekend. Gorgeous public areas and nice room. However, there was damage done by the housekeeping staff to a medically necessary breathing apparatus. Hotel denies moving or dropping the unit which was rendered totally non-working for the second night. Front desk clerk understood the damage and took a report, but hotel management denies any responsibility and refuses any compensation for a unit valued at nearly $800.00. The fact the floor was wet beneath the unit shows that something happened. I certainly will be filing in court to recover these damages. Ruined a wonderful weekend getaway. more

Best in JC 2/11/2010

At this point, the Carnagie is the best hotel in Johnson City. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the bathrooms have to be seen to be believed. They are HUGE. It has lovely public rooms and banquet spaces. The Wellington Restaurant on site is good, but spendy. It is located right across from ETSU, and next to the Millenium Center, so it is convenient for people attending conferences. more

Great Services 1/4/2010

I had a massage there in 2008 while staying at the hotel. It was a great massage and since my SIL is getting married there in October 2010 I am looking forward to another massage and this time a pedicure! Pros: Great environment Cons: A little expensive more

Amazing Spa!!!! 1/7/2009

After visiting Austin Springs Spa, I am officially hooked! From my first phone call to book an appointment through the check out process, I was handled by a professional, courteous staff. The spa itself is top-notch, offering traditional as well as cutting-edge services that exceed all other spas I've visited. My favorite services are the 90-minute massage (worth every penny) and the "four-hands" massage. If you're anxious about having a male massage therapist - don't be - he is extremely professional and did a fantastic job! The skin care services are amazing; I've had Signature, Diamond Microderm and Glycolic facials with Angela and her knowledge and attention to detail is the best I've come across. The hair salon, although more expensive than other salons in the area is worth the extra cost with its tranquil environment and excellent scalp massage. Also, since it is open every day except Sunday, you can usually make appointments that fit your schedule instead of waiting weeks as is the case for many other spas in the area that offer limited availability. Overall, Austin Springs is an upscale facility that offers impeccable service by a caring and courteous staff....there is no reason to go anywhere else! more

friendly staff, exceptional spa attendants, variety of services 1/3/2009

Austin Springs Spa and Salon is the best spa in this region and beyond! The reception staff is very knowlegeable and politely assists you in planning your relaxing day at the spa. The services are top notch also offering additional aspects of traditional treatments. After the planning and greetings from the lovely spa attendants, the therapists whisk you away to a paradise that exceeds all of your expectations. The best skin care specialist is Eva. Once she puts her magazine down and gets off the counter, she is on the ball, giving her clients that facial glow they have come to expect from Austin Springs. I have also become addicted to Scott, the massage therapist with the magical hands! My satifaction with Austin Springs Spa is continuously built upon by the separate call center to accurately book my appointments and front desk retail specialists to help me purchase the products to continue my spa experience at home. Pros: great reception staff, relaxing ambiance, champagne w/pedicures more

A great first impression 1/3/2009

My initial experience with Austin Springs Spa was fabulous! When I booked my appointment, the person on the phone seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. Upon arriving, I was greeted with friendly faces and was then escorted to the hallway where I was treated with a soothing neckwrap. My nail technician, Wendy, was unbelievable! I received the best manicure and pedicure. She is not only sweet, but also very meticulous with her services. I would suggest Austin Springs Spa to anyone who was looking to be pampered. Pros: great service, lovely atmosphere, front desk staff friendly more

comfortable and relaxing, and well worth it 12/20/2008

In the area for business and as a guy I was a bit concerned about having any treatment - I am not used to such things. The staff, the service, and the treatment (sport facial or something and a haircut) have convinced me this should be the place and the way to decompress. I was warmly greated and waited on hand and foot until my service which was fantastic. I now take time in new york to do the same about once a month, but nothing compares to the true southern hospitality and service that I received here. more

Don't Miss an Appointmet at the Best SPA in the Tri-Cities Area! 12/17/2008

My job requires me to travel all over the US and I have visited numerous spas and I found that the best is in my back yard. Austin Springs Spa has the most courteous staff, qualifies therapists and the best facitlies that I have encountered anywhere. I visit the spa 4-5 times on a monthly basis for a variety of services and I have never been dissappointed. I even convinced my husband to go in for a spa treatment and he is a regular now! If you are in the Tri-Cities area, you can't miss an appointment at this spa! Pros: Very professional staff, lovely facilities, extensive services. more

Best Spa in Tennessee!!! 12/16/2008

Austin Springs Spa and Salon is a must if you are visiting or live in the tri-cities area! Their facility is absolutely lovely, and their staff is very professional, knowledgable, and friendly! I stay in the Carnegie Hotel quite frequently on business trips, and it is very nice having such a wonderful spa there to help me relax and unwind after work. Make sure to call ahead though. The good news must be out, because the appointments at this spa are in high demand. They offer a variety of services including body, skin, nail, and hair. Take it from me, you'll want to take advantage of all if you can make the time!! Pros: beautiful ambience, great location, polished staff, large variety of services, more

Austin Springs has the best spa environment in the area; beautiful treatrment rooms and the nail tech I had was excellent and very professional. more

Dont go here!!!!!!!!!!!! 12/2/2008

This spa was the absolute worst spa I have ever been to. The director was so completely rude and snobby that it is apparent that she needs to be in charge of a sorority rather than a spa. The front desk attendants didnt have any idea how to deal with the public and were rude as well. The only great thing about my visit was my service and my service provider. But it is beyond me why such wonderful employees would want to work in such a terrible spa. Since my visit, I have talked to other people as far as virginia who have said the the same thing. Dont waste youre money, go somewhere else. more

worst place to go 6/3/2007

Lack of attention to their customers for example, I just finished my 80 minute massage and then was passed off to one of their couches near the work out room. I practically sat there for 30 minutes and after a while I walked up front to find my aesthetician (Counts?), and she was sitting on the counter reading a magazine. Now what is up with that? You pay hundreds of dollars for good service and you get The Johnson City local Mall type service. If you can at all, go to Asheville if you want five star quality services. more

Terrible reception 2/7/2007

One would expect a spa to be a place where you go to be pampered and to ease the stress of daily aggravations. Unfortunately, Austin Springs Spa is ruined by their terrible reception. No thank you, no smile...basically rude and unwelcoming even though I was purchasing hundreds of dollars of spa services. The spa services I have had there have been good, but who wants to go to a spa that puts you in a bad mood as soon as you walk in the door? The owner should fire the horrible receptionist because she is ruining it for an otherwise nice spa. Pros: great esthetician Eva and Angela is fantastic for mani/pedi Cons: horrible receptionist with blond hair (don't know her name), others may be nice more
