One of the worst companies to do business with. I have been trying to get my pool opened for over a month now. needing parts for my filter and every time I call I am told I will get back in touch with you or I will be there tomorrow. And nothing ever happens. Then when they finally show up to do the work I am charged an amount that I didn't even know about. The owner of this business apparently does not know that he can't do everything his self and needs to hire staff or he will lose his business. Based off all of the reviews for this company not many people are satisfied. I would not recommend this company to anyone that needs pool repairs. more

We had a new liner installed by Capital Pools May 2014. Within 2 weeks there developed a split in it. Ben the owner instructed us to let the pool go down until it stopped leaking so that they would know at what level the split was. After two weeks we finally hired a diver to find the leak which was a split in the liner about 6"" long. We personally paid for the diver. 3 weeks later they installed a new liner. The day it was installed they discovered that it two had a split in the liner. 3 weeks later they installed a new liner. Ben stated that on each liner he paid a 1500.00 insurance fee to cover the cost of labor and reimburse the home owner for new start up chemical costs and diver fees if any were incurred. He told us that our part would be $500.00. When we asked him when he was going to pay it he stated he would get it in the mail right away. Fast forward to Nov 2014. When we asked him why he had not mailed the 500.00 he stated they had mailed it on Oct 15, 2015 and stated that the check had not cleared the bank so he was resending one that day, Nov 11, 2014. As of today 12/1/14 we have not received a check. It is sad that these people are even allowed to remain in business. It is one thing to have a problem, it is another thing to just tell outright lies. Hopefully enough people will find out their business tactics and they will go out of business, which will be the best for the public. more

I DO RECOMMEND CAPITOL POOL FOR A NEW POOL AND/OR FOR SERVICE. 8/14/2014

Capitol Pool installed our pool 9 years ago, the pool is still in perfect condition, no crack , concrete or wall move, no liner or pool bottom deformation , like I have seen with some competitors pool owned by friends or neighbors. \r I have stayed in touch with Capitol Pool for the past 9 years but I like to do things by myself , so I have not been the perfect customer asking Capitol Pool to do all the maintenance for me. I do my own pool water testing and do all the technical maintenance by myself.\r What I have extremely appreciated with Capitol Pool is that even if I am not asking them to do the maintenance and not buying tones of products or equipment every years, they have always considered me like a first citizen customer, giving me outstanding advice and offering very competitive price for everything I bought.\r As an example, I got a leak from my diatome filter which was draining diatome powder back inside the pool, and I was ready to change the complete filter screen, but th more

I DO RECOMMEND CAPITOL POOL FOR A NEW POOL AND/OR FOR SERVICE.\r \r Capitol Pool installed our pool 9 years ago, the pool is still in perfect condition, no crack , concrete or wall move, no liner or pool bottom deformation , like I have seen with some competitors pool owned by friends or neighbors. \r I have stayed in touch with Capitol Pool for the past 9 years but I like to do things by myself , so I have not been the perfect customer asking Capitol Pool to do all the maintenance for me. And in addition I was few day close to the end of the warranty, and nothing was argued or said about that by Capitol Pool.\r I could write much more about the help and good services I have received from Capitol Pool during these 9 years, the list goes one and one, the shop owner is very professional, and his team is very well managed by him, and very knowledgeable, as a result it?s always a pleasure to interact with them.\r A lot of contractors have worked on my house and property, and I can say that Ben is one of the very few that I will recommend for new projects, or for services.\r \r more

I have called numerous times and can't get any one to call me back..... I'm about to be spending $1000.00 for liner, foam, and new pump and filter system you would think they would like to take my money but I am now doing business else where. This is terrible I got one guy the first time who sounded like he was maybe 16-18 and didn't know a thing about the questions I was asking I left my number with a man the second time I called and that was a week ago haven't heard back. I've called a few other times where no one will answer at all. So I finally give up and will not do business here. more

I agree with below. Their service is horrible. They don't call back after all these promises from manager and how they valued us as a customer. Have been waiting for weeks for parts we were told would take only a couple of days. They called today and said parts were in and I informed them that we were considering another source, their response was, ""OK"" I asked them if they even cared and their response was, ""no, not really"" Will I go back...No, not really Stay away from this outfit more

We were told mid-March that if signed the contract the job would be done in 3-4 weeks. The following week they said they were coming to measure for our liner replacement. Did not show up until mid-April. Last week in mid-May they install the liner. The next day a huge bubble appears under the liner. They show the following day and put in another vacuum to pull the bubble out. They say they could not come back for another week (today) but two days ago showed up to remove both vacuums. Liner has a huge star shaped wrinkle and is pulling away from the sides in 3 places. Returns still not cut so can't add chemicals and water is starting to turn after a week of hot sun. Would not recommend. more

so after 3 days of trying to get someone to call me back on a quick repair of a automatic pool cleaner. I called 3 days in a row just asking for someone who could tell me what is wrong with it, I was told that someone would call me back soon. Well this is the 3rd day and 3rd time trying to get a call back, as I called and talked to Justin, when I told him who I was he said OMG I apologize again for forgetting all about you. that is the end of these people for me. more

If you want great customer service, DON""T CALL THEM!!! What you can expect is lies from every employee, after 5 weeks and no return calls, and still no pool repair, we cancelled and went with someone else. They did return our money though. Make sure you pay by credit card!In truth, the new pool company isn't any better, after 4 weeks, we're in the same boat. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 4/29/2013

Stay away. No idea what customer service is. They had one person that knew what he was doing but he is no longer there. The owner Ben is disengaged and apparently doesn't care what his staff does to his customers. After 5 years I will never go back! more

Great to work with.. 5/31/2011

Not sure why people have problems with them. I have been going to Capitol Pools for about 7 years now for water testing, chemicals, parts, etc. They have helped me from replacing my sand filter, pump, liner, etc. My pool was from Rec Warehouse and was low quality. Now with their help everything has slowly been replaced with industry standards Hayward parts and no more problems. more

We hired Capitol Pools to maintain our pool. They did not show up when scheduled, nor did they call. Each time we called, we got excuses. We made phone calls and requeted to speak to the owner after the situation escalated. The calls were never returned. The pool was treated incorrectly and never did clear up as promised. Capitol Pools can respond all they want to this post in their defense, but the bottom line is poor customer service, a lack of courtesy and an unprofessional attitude. I would not recommend Capitol Pools! more

Poor customer service. Hired them to maintain our pool. They did not keep appointments or show up when promised, nor did they call. They did a poor job cleaning the pool. They did not treat the pool correctly with chemicals. We called several times to speak to a manager or owner and got no response. Would not recommend them, very unprofessional! more

A NO GO FROM THE GET GO :( 7/11/2010

My husband and I went into the store over a month ago to discuss plans for building an in-ground pool.We were ready to commit to this project and needed someone from CP to come and survey the property. We filled out all of the information to get started and the clerk helping us said that the owner would call us to schedule a time to come out to look at our yard. We were ready to go.However, we never got a call from CP. We tried again to contact the owner to set an appointment, but he never called us back.We were so excited about starting the pool and were sure that we made the right choice in choosing CP, but apparently they didn't have the time for us.Disappointed in the service from CP.....Never got any :(. If they could not even get us started, would they be available if a problem came up during construction or after ?????????? more

Capitol Pools & Spa is TO BE AVOIDED! 8/19/2009

Bought a pool cover from them, and then had them close the pool after installing. Only problem is, their worker forgot to drain my pool heater, which was located right alongside all the other components of the system they remembered to drain. When we opened the pool, a major part of the heater started gushing water, as it had burst when the water inside it froze over the winter. Have asked them to pay for the the replacement part, but they have ignored me. Stay away from these folks, they won't take care of the mistakes they make. more
