I agree with majority, Service is the WORST! 5/5/2011

I had a k1200s under warranty. Some issues with my bike started occurring intermittently and after research on the inter-webs i found the solutions. The solutions were to take it to the dealer and replace some parts. 1) bike stalling out issue was caused by a bad charcoal filter, which Jon tried to blame on ME! after 3 trips (they did not see any issues), escalation to BMW NA Motorrad, this was finally fixed. 2) wobbly steering was due to bad ball joints in front suspension, this was a known issue along many k1200s owners. Jon denied any issues with my bike on 2-3 trips to dealership. Warranty expired while he was dragging feet... Then he advised that i am not under warranty and it will cost me money to replace those ball joints. I argued that the issue was reported BEFORE warranty expired, he said ""it's not in the service records""... that's hilarious, because HE is the one who places the notes in the service records!!! After escalation to BMW NA again and a lot of frustration, Jon agreed to replace the parts. When i picked up the bike, he said the only replace ONE ball joint instead of both. Does this make sense to take the whole suspension apart to replace just one ball joint??? now i am waiting for my other ball joint to seize up while i am riding on highway... Thanks for WORST service EVER! PS. and yes, they don't say mean words, but they have that shady attitude in which anyone would feel repulsed to go to this place ever again. more

It is very difficult to get a call back from the this dealership. Thank goodness for the internet, because it is much easier and a lot less hassle than dealing with these guys. more

I concur with the majority 9/9/2010

Speed Triple Guy, Jon must have been out of the country when you received great service there. I will never do business with this outfit again as long as Jon is still employed there. He is the absolute worse service manager I have dealt with in 40 years of motorcycles, and is completely incapable of follow through and returning phone calls. You can tell by his demeanor that he is very unhappy person. Avoid this place like radiation. You will get hung out and burned. more

Absolutely the WORST customer service!! 2/9/2009

My wife purchased a new 2008 R1200GS from the dealership last year for me when I returned home from Afghanistan. She had no issues with the sale; however, the customer service to this point has been so substandard that I would NEVER purchase from Capitol BMW again.\r I took my bike there for the first 600 mile service. Before I even got home, my ""low oil"" light came on and I had to have my wife come pick me up because the dealership was closed and I was concerned that the engine would seize up. After getting it home I checked the oil level and it didn't even register in the crank case. I immediately phoned Jon Ross the following day and left a voice message stating my concern that the dealership didn't put enough oil in the bike during the service. Several days later he left me a voice mail asking what my mailing address was because he was going to send me a quart of oil. WTF??? No explanation as to why they didn't put the requisite amount of oil in the bike, no apology, nothing. I couldn't help but wonder what else they forgot to do. I left at least half a dozen additional messages requesting that he return my call. I just wanted an explanation of why they neglected to service my bike properly. I still haven't received a call from the dealership. Beware of Capitol BMW. They'll gladly take your money but good luck beyond that. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you want a new BMW bike, go to the dealership in Charlotte, NC. more

Capitol BMW----BEST SERVICE 6/6/2008

I've owned alot of bikes and have dealt with alot of dealers and I can truly say that my experience at Capitol BMW in Raleigh NC was and continues to be the best. Yes, yes the bikes are great however; the people are what make a difference.... All the employees at the shop which I have dealt with are professional, kind and always helpful; Jon Ross is with out exception several cuts above any service manager I've ever dealt with. He truly cares about the issue and is ALWAYS willing to help. Doug, Bob and the others (sorry I can't remember all their names) are extremely customer focused, knowledgeable and have always made my visits to the shop pleasant. \r \r I know everyone's experience is different but at Capital I can't imagine anyone getting bad service. \r \r Oh yeah and by the way I don't work at the shop. I am a customer who gives credit where credit is due. I ran across the negative review on the CitySearch site and felt inclined to respond. To the folks at Capitol....My continued thanks for your service...\r \r Signed....\r Speed Triple Guy....:-) \r Pros: See Write up... Cons: Non experieced Yet more

Poor Customer service 1/7/2008

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a review. Warning, just because they sell the greatest motorcycle's in the world, that doesn't mean they provide top level service. My experience with their service department has left me with much to be desired. The biggest complaint I have is that they fail to adequately communicate with their customers. Pros: They sell the greatest motorcycle in the world Cons: They are the only show in town and they act like it more
