Canine Castle & Dog-Deli

It is hard to find a good feline groomer in this area. Canine Castle's staff were friendly and informative. I took my three long-haired rescue kitties there. The groomer asked me specifically how I wanted each cat groomed and styled. She also handled my cats very well, even my skittish kitty. Their pricing is very competitive and location is convenient. My male cat was given a cute "lion cut" per request. Nail trimming and ear cleaning are included in the grooming price. Both things I could never do with my cats without much protest and stress. Coming in and leaving, the courteous staff helped me with the cat carriers. I’m a repeat customer! more

I have been taking my long-haired doxie to this groomer for a couple of years. Service & cost were excellent when I first started, but the last couple of times, it felt "rushed" and my dog came home totally stressed out (not good for an older dog!) Also, the owner didn't seem to listen to what type of cut I asked for (the same one since first visit) and my dog came home closely clipped - in NOVEMBER! I was upset when I picked her up, but of course, the owner was long gone (which is most of the time at pickup). I didn't feel it was fair to the young lady to unload my frustrations on her. I am now looking for a new groomer who doesn't use cages and listens to the owner - may cost more but I will pay what it takes for my doxie. more

I decided to have my labrador retriever stay at the Canine Castle & Dog deli. They appeared to be a good deal and their location was more convenient than where I normally boarded my dog.\r \r It was a bad decision on my part.\r \r All dogs are kept in crates next to and on top of one another. \r They do go outside on a leash several times a day, but there's no fenced in area for them to run around in. So... limited exercise opportunities.\r Dogs are only fed 1x per day\r The owner does not follow care instructions.\r \r After one week of being boarded there, my labrador retriever had gained a noticeable amount of weight. He no longer had a noticeable waist. Before boarding, he was at ideal body weight based on vet charts. After boarding, he would be considered overweight by the same chart. I asked questions to determine the cause and found out that the dog had been getting fed 50% more than what we had instructed. I was told "I'm just a feeder and he seemed so happy to get fed".
