I have been in different spas trying to find the best massage to relax and get rid of the toxins and found Delfin. Very courteous, a gentleman and dedicated to his job. He is very professional and knows his job!! I am so glad that I could find a place that is not in "Manhattan" that can provide a great services, specially for massage. I really highly recommend him for a deep tissue and for relaxation. I try both of them and they are great. I feel great and also see the difference in my skin and body. Pros: In The Bronx. I went for a deep tissue massage with Delfin...EXCELLENT!!! He is the best in techniques and advices. I used to go to spas in Manhattan because they were close to my job, but the quality is not compare to Canela, which is the best. He is so good that everytime I tried to book an appointment with him, there is no chance...everyone ask for him. It's very hard to find a good hair dresser for my curly locks but this place was my life saver. The hair dresser suggested the perfect hair treatment that left my lock soft and shiny. I loved the end results! I enjoy every moment of my visit. I would definitely be a returning customer. more

I planned a day at the spa with my friends for my birthday and we had the best time. The service and staff were excellent and we were extremely happy at the end of the day. Definitely will be returning to be pampered some more. more

The hair color was good there, but the hair cut was horrible, not what I asked for. I now have to go back and get it fixed, and it will be a lot shorter then I want. Also all the hair stylist did not speak English as the first language, so it was a little hard to understand. Pros: Good hair color Cons: horrible hair cut more

With my mother recovering from her cancer treatments, I decided to take her to Canela for an afternoon of rest and relaxation. They did not disappoint! Staff and facilities are definitely top notch. My mother enjoyed her sessions (massage & facial) immensely and actually recommended that I make an appointment asap. It was exactly what she needed. Cheers! This is the first time I've ever straightened my hair so I was a little nervous about how it might turn out because I always hear about straightening products that damage and dry out hair. That is definitely not the case with the Brazilian Hair Straightener. I have curly, frizzy and very dry hair and I must say this is the healthiest my hair has ever looked since I straightened it. Not only did my hair come out super straight but it's really shiny and soft. The hairstylist did such an amazing job. I love it! Pros: Hairstylist are great. more

I got married last month and used Canela for massages and hair treatments leading up to my wedding as well as for my hair and all of my bridesmaids' hair on the actual wedding day. It is difficult to please 8 women on such an important day and EVERYONE left the salon feeling gorgeous. Not only did the stylists do a wonderful job with our hair they even provided us with breakfast! I have gone to many of the top spas in Manhattan for massages and hair treatments and Canela ranks up there as one of the best! The staff is incredibly accomodating and will work and re-work your hair or any other treatment until you are completely satisfied. In addition to the wonerful staff, the salon itself is beautiful and warm--you feel cozy the minute you enter! I highly recommend the salon!! more

About 2 weeks ago I went into Canela spa for a massage, a gift certificate from my friend. I love how nice it is. Very clean and hospitable and they have great scents all around. It's bigger than it appears to be. I was introduced to this male masseus Jose. Very young looking, but warm, friendly and very attentive. He asked me some questions, offered me something to drink and walked me into the spa. I was a little nervous and somehow Jose sensed it and immediately made me feel at ease by informing me what he intended to do and told me if I felt uncomfortable at anytime, to please let him know. He also told me I was in total control of the massage. I've never been told that before. I felt good knowing that. Some things he said made me laugh too. But what'll make me return soon are that mans' hands. He has the hands of a god. He pressed and rubbed and stretched and did so many things I couldn't even describe it. I felt so relaxed almost immediately I fell asleep a little, til I had to turn over. I don't recall his hands ever leaving my body, but then again I fell asleep. I went in tensed and came out floating on clouds an hour later,but it felt like so much longer. No masseus in any of the many spas I've gone to treated me so well or have ever done half the things he did from the moment he saw me. If I could take that man's hands home I so would. And from that experience its obvious they train their staff very well. I'm traveling to the Bronx for a massage anytime. They are worth the cab ride up there. more

I remember telling my roommate one day that her hair looked great. She told me that she was recommended by another friend to this "new spot" called Canela. Since her hair looked so nice, I decided to try it for myself. Needless to say I was very pleased not only with the hair style, but with the customer service and attention from the minute I walked through the door. I was used to going into salons and standing there until someone decided your money was green enough or you were worth talking to. Often times, I'd go into a Salon and I'd count to 30 and then walk out. Believe it or not, sometimes they don't even realize you're standing there..lol. However, Canela is different. The place is very clean, the decor is modern, stylish and inviting. The staff understands the value of customer service and they treat you like they want you to be there. Canela is a little out of the way for me but the service and the people are so great that I don't even think about how long the commute is. I have been going ever since and I highly recommend it. What an amazing place!!! Canela Spa brings a new flavor of style and decor to the Bronx. I've been to many Spa locations through out New York and by far Canela tops them all. I absolutely love their Signature facial and Canela Message. Canela also has a salon, which is outstanding with color and cut. You have so many different services to chose from all at your disposal, what more can someone ask for. Canela's staff is extremely friendly and pampers you from the moment you walk through their door. They?ll even bring you a beverage and small snack if you desire. Since I've been going to Canela I brought my mother and sister for some services (message/facial/back facial). They are so pleased with the results of their services and the tranquility environment Canela creates. Living in Parkchester has made relaxing and being pampered a lot more easier now that Canela Spa and Salon is here. The staff is ultra friendly and very helpful willing to answer any question you may have in their field of expertise. First of all the atmosphere is warm and inviting from the moment you go in, the staff as I mentioned are all wonderful people who make you feel at home as if they've known you for a very long time. The massages there are OH MY LORD relaxing and GREAT!! Not only does Jose and Joanna make you feel relaxed and at ease especially for a first timer, but my subsequent visits have only gotten better and better and I feel so much more energized and less stress everytime I get a massage there. After a friend's recommmendation, I had to visit Canela. The first time I visited, I booked a massage for my mother and myself. We were both first timers and were VERY pleased with the end result. My masseuse was Jose and he is great! By the end of the 50-min Canelassage we couldn't have been more relaxed. Most recently, I've had the pleasure of getting waxed by Gina. No stranger to the Brazilian, I was ready for the pain but of all the sessions I've had, my session with Gina was my best experience so far. It's an awkward situation, but Gina made some recommendations for the upkeep and took her time which I appreciated. I definitely plan on becoming a regular! more

I have been to numerous spas in New York. For some reasoon or another I was never fully satisfied.whether it was the customer service or the quality of the services they provide. I'm a very picky person and I was a bit skeptical about going to a spa in the Bronx. But from the start Canela has been like a breath of freah air. Their staff ia friendly , the decor is so warm and inviting and the service is also top notch. I have been going to Canela since they opened and they have never disappointed me. I get my massages, hair, manicures and brows all done all at Canela. I m treated like a Princess whenever I go to CANELA! I recommend Canela to anyone who truly wants to pamperr themselves. I am a New Yorker at heart and a former Bronx Chica! Now living in Virginia and traveling the globe makes it difficult to just relax. I have been to several spas around the globe Canela Spa being one of them. Canela Spa, is a customer friendly atmosphere not only do they offer the sweet and sensual Vanilla Canela aroma, they pride in treating their customers with respect. They made me feel like a valued customer as if they known me for years! I try to RSVP whenever I am in town; it beats from going to the hectic down town city spas. Of course, they tend to be over booked - precisely my point... but it is worth it ? they are reservation-friendly! So far in my two visits to the spa, I've experience the Canelassage, Canela Signature Facial. I haven't yet to try the Canela spa manicure and pedicure, but I heard is great. Canela is sweet indulgence at a reasonable price. Canela is hygienically and freshly clean! Pros: Conveniently located within the Parkchester Hub. Easy accessibility via the 6 train and there is parking. It is very close to the shopping center. Cons: It's 4-hours away from Virginia. more

From the very minute we walked in, we were greeted nicely. We were given tea and sent to another area to be warm. My gf had the bikini wax first, she said that was mediocre. She and I then had some great warm stone massages. Jose had some hands that were incredible. My gf had Joan and she was also great. He gave me some tips that I will be following to remedy my upper back and neck area. I then had a Canela espresso facial with Maria and this was nice. I felt it was very genuine. She wasn't trying to push any products, she was giving me advice and suggestions. No one there was trying to push any products, it was there, if we wanted to buy, we could. I enjoyed the calm atmosphere. We had a fabulous time and we will be returning. Pros: Excellent service, no more to say Cons: none really besides the bikini wax wasn't all that more

My first Canela experience was in the summer where my mom and I had 50 minute stone massages. It was the best stone massge I have ever had. My mother is disabled and funny about things like this but she still raves about the massage being one of her best experiences ever! Later in September my aunt came to vist from another state and she went for a massge and loved it. The following week I had a Canelassage massage & it was so relaxing that I didn't want to leave. Canela's staff makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. It is a great place with great prices and I am so glad that it is so close to my house! My boyfriend gave me a Canela gift card for Christmas. This weekend I used it towards a facial treatment and 1 hour massage. It was wonderful! Everyone was SO nice and so professional- they make you feel right at home. The space is great too- much nicer than anything I've been to in the neighborhood before. I've already booked a return appointment for another facial a month from now and would strongly recommend Canela to anyone who asked. PS- my colleague gets her hair done at Canela (color and cut) and it always looks great, so I think I'm going to try out their salon too. I have been a fan since this gem opened..... The staff is very professional and courteous.... the ambience is tranquil and relaxing... I love the fact that I do not have to go downtown to get a quality massage and facial. I have standing appointments which makes life so much easier.... they are always confirmed by phone which is great... The atmosphere is warm and relax, the decor is done in subtle hues of earthtones, which automatically relax es you.. Your room has a wonderful scent of lavender and mint.
