Poor Service - DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR PET! Con-Artists!!Was taking my two cats there for surgery this morning. Had the paperwork faxed to me in order to complete it in advance - was told I would wait 15 to 20 minutes. 35 minites AFTER getting there I go to the back to the exam room, Vet Suzanne Campbell said she could not perform surgery on one of my cats because he'd had literally a small sip of water two hours prior to going in... I tried to prevent that, but he was too fast for me - trust me, literally a sip!! They could have done the surgery later today so that I would not be inconvenienced... but they did not offer any convenience to me at all. So I said well I will take them both home and reschedule. When I called to reschedule I was told the surgery would be $146.00 more than I was originally quoted (they said the girl was new that told me $350). NOT ONLY THAT, NOW I would have to schedule a pre-op appointment at a cost of $27.50 for each cat (they said the girl that scheduled this was new and forgot to tell me that when I called the first time - BUT they did not mention any of this when I arrived at the original appt!!! ONLY when I called to reschedule). SO, this means bringing them back TWO more times when the vet office is about an hour from where I work. I feel like since I left, they jacked the prices up on me when I called back to reschedule. I don't trust them with my babies. I am glad I found this out first had before letting them put their hands on my cats. So now, with the 27.50 extra for the pre-op visit, and the mis-quote of $146.00 the total for the surgery is $525.00... a far cry from what I was told in the beginning...$350.00!! I can't help but think I am being taken for a ride. Am I wrong or would you trust these folks with your pet after this??? Not me! Please think twice before bringing your pet to this office. I felt like I could not trust them after this and I was so glad I took BOTH my pets back home this morning!!\r \r more

Took my two dogs there last week after recently moving to the area and this place being recommended by two co-workers. Walked inside and stood there for about two minutes while the two receptionists were busy chatting with each other until one finally looked up and said ""can I help you?"" After explaining what I needed one of the receptionists ""huffed"" out loud because she was going to have to call my old vet's office for permission to sell me heart worm medications. When the vet tech came out to get one of my dogs, who is usually pretty cooperative, but I guess he could feel the tension as well, he hesitated going with her, but instead of coaxing him gently, she pulled him so hard across their floor his collar slipped off over his head. I immediately intervened and walked my dog to the back myself. Finally, this was a Thursday and was told I would be called in 30 minutes with test results...but nothing. I called Monday and left a message for someone to call...nothing. I called back Wednesday and demanded I get my results. \r \r I do not recommend this place at all unless you don't care about your pets. I was uncomfortable, my pets were uncomfortable, and the entire office had this arrogance. Plus my co-workers told me how cheap they were.....but they are NOT cheap! \r \r Take your animals somewhere else. more

RE: VULPES Review 7/2/2009

This is regarding VULPES review.....I agree that Dr. Lash was not the nicest person and didn't seem to care about the animals BUT she has been gone for over 4-5 years. The vets in there now are totally awesome and love the animals. When my cat had to be put to sleep, the vet cried with us! She had operated on him and the whole office staff was pulling for him to live but he just couldn't make it. They are the friendliest vet I have ever been to and would recommend to anyone. Most of the office staff has been there for years which says something about working for these vets. VULPS, please make sure you know what your talking about before you write a negative review about a business. You're years behind in your information. Pros: Best vet in the country more

Best Vet Ever!!! This is for the person ""VULPES"" 2/27/2009

Before writing a review about someone you should get your facts straight!!! Dr Lash has not been w/this clinic or associated w/ it for over 4 yrs. She has a mobile service. So therefor do your research prior to posting something on 10/26/2008 that is incorrect. If you visited the clinic recently I think you would change your whole review, and by looking at your posting's your not happy with any vet!! Are you sure you went to the one at 40/42 in the food lion shopping center????? Take time to revisit the correct clinic and re-write your review or keep your thoughts to yourself if you cant get your facts straight!! PS-the inside has been completely remodeled and there is no places falling apart. The correct address is 73 Glen Rd..3 doors down from food lion..#919-662-7387. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat and they all love to go there. The staff seems like one big happy family and treats you and your pet the same. So I dare you to revisit the clinic and then write a review. Pros: My pets love it!!! Cons: None!! more

Poor medicine, horrible doctor, hole in the wall! 10/26/2008

I would never ever take a pet to this hospital. Horrible handling of animals. Poor communication to people and pets. Parts of facility not well-maintained/falling apart. And the doctor, wow, in a bad way. She is aptly named Dr. Lash, out of a horror flick. While waiting, I heard her yelling at staff or a client, and could hear staff talking outside the exam room about how Dr. Lash over-reacted/borderline abuse to a client's pet! I have seen all manner of vets and hospitals and this place is the worst: exceptionally penny-pinching for themselves (I'm afraid what the back/treatment area was like...fear the surgery unit would harm rather than heal in a hole like this one!), while charging for exams that are not complete: don't thoroughly check eyes and ears, teeth, abdomen, skin, joints, heart, lungs, etc. What are you paying for if not for a thorough exam of your pet, paying a professional because you don't know animal anatomy, physiology, and disease...but wait, they just look at the pet, say it ""looks healthy""...something I do everyday, except I touch my pet way more than they did. The staff seemed nice...if not wary of Dr. Lash. I'm concerned when staff at any medical and/or pet facility aren't all cohesive, passionate, proud of their work. Over vaccinated pets, wanted to do too many things out of sight, in the back area. Other hospitals have individual vaccine protocol per patient, do skin tests and blooddraws in front of me, calmly and confidently, with great skill/intelligence. My dogs and cats are veterans of a variety of hospitals and people handling them... professionally at ease in many different situations. But here, their body language said worried, unsure, untrusting, and that says A LOT to me. They were hearing/seeing the same bad signals I was. I saw a roommate's pet get ""examined"" and joined just to scope out the place. Told my roomie and friend I know other vets that are much better, and converted her...she'll never go back. more
