When my furnace quit on a very cold day they were very quick to provide knowledgeable service to get me up and running again. So I signed a maintenance contract. During the first maintenance call I was advised I needed a new expensive heat pump, which I financed with them, telling them that as a retiree and recent widow, my income was limited. The service rep brought a plumber with him who asked if I might also have plumbing concerns. After I showed him a leak in my kitchen faucet, he said he would not feel comfortable merely replacing the faucet. He wanted to replace all my plastic lines in both baths plus those in the kitchen, telling me horror stories of others who experienced flooded homes. He also told me my water heater would be next. It still works fine, and another plumber came and replaced my faucet without suggesting my plastic lines needed to replaced. I have since cancelled my maintenance contract.
