Dr. Hite and her staff at Camp Road Animal Clinic are wonderful. They've always been very professional and caring towards my animals and myself but this past week they went above and beyond. I rushed my 16 year old cat, Bobby, into the clinic after finding him unable to walk and difficulty breathing - they took him in right away and did their best to calm him and me. Dr. Hite explained in detail what was wrong. Long story short I had to have Bobby put to sleep. Everyone was so compassionate and encouraged me to take my time saying good-bye. A few days later I received a sympathy card with personal notes from everyone in the office and a stamped print of Bobby's paw that I will treasure always. I will continue to take my dog to CRAC and when I'm ready to get another cat, it will also be a member of the CRAC family. more

After moving to the southtowns, for a few years now we have taken our pets to Camp Road Animal Clinic. I can honestly say, in my 38 years of having pets , I have new found a more professional, compassionate, and skilled bunch of ladies ! We have had 2 dogs in their care and a cat. We are always welcomed with pleasent staff and very reasonable prices for the excellent care recieved. When poor bobbi got into alittle scuffle outside they took her in withen 2 hours ! I am so pleased to have a wonderful doctor for all our furries friends. Keep up the good work ladies. more

Great Place for Pets 11/16/2011

Every time I call, I receive a friendly staff memeber and they are always helpful. If I have a question or concern Dr. Hite takes my call as well.\r \r Our pup has a couple of health issues, and Dr. Hite has been extremely helpful. I have called and sometimes made appointments for the same day or the follow day. The care that we receive is worth every penny. We never left the office feeling that we were rushed or it was a waste of time. Thank you to Dr. Hite and her staff for being such great people and caring for my pup. more

Fantastic care 9/1/2011

Dr. Hite has taken great care of our senior cats for years, offering quality care at reasonable prices. Given that, when we adopted out new puppy, we took her to CRAC for her first visit. A few days later, when she was having problems (having nothing to do with CRAC), Dr. Hite responded quickly, and had her in surgery two days later. She's in tip-top shape, and a loving, fiesty puppy. The icing on the cake...when I asked the price, it was about 1/4 of what I'd been prepared to spend. I'm proud to call Dr. Hite my vet! more

Sorry 1/24/2011

I have to say that when my girlfriend gave me a few names of veterinarians to try in Hamburg, (My husband and I just relocated from Lockport) my first move was to search the internet for reviews. \r \r I had found so many on the two clinics nearest to my house. \r \r As consumers we are able to voice our opinions, be it happy or not with a business via the internet. I feel you do have a right to defend your business to a point, but also there is a thin line that can be crossed. \r \r I feel that the rebuttal that was posted in response to ""money hungry"" post was harsh and a tad threatening. I am sorry for the loss of life, and sorry that the practice owner felt so threatened that it was necessary to post a response. \r \r People usually forget the few bad reviews and go with the many positive reviews, but this consumer is going to go with her gut and choose another hospital for my animals. more

Rebuttal to ""Money Hungry"" 1/19/2011

With great sadness, I feel as a practice owner and doctor I am forced to defend my reputation and that of my staff on this board. I must adress one review in particular.\r I am extremely sorry, Laura Deeds, that you feel so disappointed in my service. I have done all I can to try to ease your feelings. As I already explained to you in the detailed letter I sent that included exact doses of the medication, Chloe WAS NOT OVERDOSED. Anesthetic reactions are tragic and unexpected, but unfortunately common in both human and veterinary medicine. I have tried to be as understanding as possible, knowing how devastating your loss was, and dealt with your accusations. However, I must caution you now that you have taken your accusations of ""killing your daughter's cat by overdosing her"" public. Slander and libel is illegal. If forced to take action, I will. As I also explained in the letter, I tried to make things as easy on your family as possible and only charged for the minimum supplies I used in trying to save Chloe. It is an unpleasant necessity of owning a small business. I am very sorry this offended you. more

C.R.A.C. is a bad thing 1/8/2011

Way over priced. I saved almost $300.00 by taking my dog to Dr. Inkley in Randolph. This was just to get him fixed. Camp Rd. wanted $341.00 compared to only $70.00 at Dr. Inkley's. When I made the first mention about their price,... They became very rude. I would never recommend C.R.A.C. (Camp Road Animal Clinic)to anyone. If it was my choice,... They would not even get the one star. more

Money Hungry 1/5/2011

I used to go to Camp Road Animal Clinic when Dr Brown was there and I enjoyed it, but then Dr. Hite took over. I had switched clinics a year or so ago after the first time The Dr was rude to me but my daughter still took her cat there. The staff repeatedly told her how much of a brat her cat was. Which led to them having to put her under for some sort of a work up because no one could handle this cat who was scared, sick and couldn't understand why she was there. ""Something"" happened and she died while under the anesthetic. This cat was my daughters baby as most of our pets are.The Dr. then felt the need to inform my daughter that she would discount her bill! I am not sure if they teach social skills in vet school but I am quite sure that Dr. Hite missed that class. Camp Road Animal Clinic is rude, and doesn't care about anything but money, take your animals and money else where. more

Your local vet rocks... 8/26/2010

I have a dog daycare, training and boarding business. I work with several vets in Erie County and in Hamburg, Dr. Hite has always made herself available for any concerns or questions or consulting I need direction or guidance on. The office has always been available to help providing empathy, knowledge and excellent handling skills. Dogs that have been dismissed elsewhere or muzzled as too hard to handle were not a problem for Dr. Hite's office. Dr. Hite is also very generous with her time with rescue and for the last three years, hmmm, maybe four, she has closed one day a year to donate her time to the local village pet event ... providing her services to raise money for the targeted rescue group that given year. more
