USBC Bowlers stay here, you won't be sorry 11/24/2010

Just got back from National's. Although our bowling wasn't good the visit to ElPaso was fabulous. The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and take care of our needs. The shuttle drivers are eager to please and the hotel restaurant food is so good and priced right there is no need to go else where. The servers go out of their way to meet your requests. The people on the streets were very polite and we even took a ride on the public bus where the daily people were eager to engage in conversation and welcome us to El Paso. Just a walk across the street to bowl and walking to fast foods if that's your choice. It truly was a wonderful experience. I want to go back !! more

Outstanding Hotel 11/23/2010

The room was great for the money. Other coworker stayed somewhere else and paid more, and ended up coming to stay at Camino Real because they were so impressed with the hotel. All the staff was truly wonderful, especially Jared from the bar staff, and Lupe from the Azulejos restaurant. Very friendly and courteous! more

A wonderful experience! 11/15/2010

If you enjoy being within walking distance to some fine restaurants (one infront of the Greyhound bus satation of all places...very run down art school looking, with a small but fabulous menu...the other Cafe Central was as good as it gets),a fine museum of art, and the colorful streets full of very modestly priced, but colorful Mexican American shops this place is for you. The hotel staff was welcoming from check in to check out time. The bed linen was sparklling white, the breakfast prices fair for hotel breakfasts(the oatmeal and fresh orange juice perfect), the Dome Bar a beauty. The furniture in our roon on a non-smoking floor was sort of a mixed bag, but comfortable. The bathroom needed another towel rack and looked a bit tired, but was very clean . We stayed in El Passo for three nights, and would definitly stay at the Camino Real again. If you want an "original" and not a cookie cutter boring hotel stay here! more

Affordable Gem 11/11/2010

We visited El Camino Real en route back from a wedding in New Mexico and were delighted to experience this jewel of an historic hotel in El Paso. We adored the beautiful historic features, chandeliers, etc. Our room was large and very clean had great views of El Paso. Service was excellent. There were very few guests--the hotel was quite quiet. We were able to use the really nice weight room and pool...both virtually empty. The hotel's location is central to everything and we were able to catch a super efficient free hotel shuttle both to and from the airport. All at a total cost of $94/night. At this price the Camino Real--and a visit to El Paso is a real bargain. more

Why the complaining ??? 11/8/2010

I don't understand all the belly aching about this hotel. I was there in October 08 and was very impressed. For those of you who don't like it - ITS AN OLD HOTEL !! It has a little character and is not a brand new generic, bland, milk-toast, boring box room with puffy sheets. I had a corner room big enough to play raquetball in, with a great view, the staff was great, the bar was great, no problems at all. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Not SUPER for business traveler, (old desk was a little small) but the wifi was strong in all areas I was in. Great hotel - go there with confidence understanding it has character. more
