Good value for money 2/1/2011

This is a beautiful grand historic hotel. Our room was very large and confortable. The variety of choices at the breakfast buffet was appreciated and we enjoyed the mexican dishes such as chile colorado, the made to order omelets, fresh fruits and Starbucks coffee. The tiffany dome in the classy bar is worth a visit itself and reminded us some of the grand rooms found in Venice. Minor glitches such as elevator problems and outdated tile in the bathrooms are easy to overlook. Don't stay here for the neighborhood, but parking was easy and downtown is centrally located. more

outstanding 1/28/2011

One of my best Hotel stays This hotel exceed my expectations...the elegance and cleaniness was outstanding...I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family. more

Exceptional service 1/26/2011

I loved staying at the Camino Real in El Paso. This precious diamond in the heart of El paso had great service. On my next visit I'll return to the Camino Real. more

It was wonderful. 1/24/2011

It's a classic looking hotel which also happens to be comfortable. I certainly stay there again. more

Nice place for the money 1/20/2011

The hotel and staff were very nice. Very helpful and went out of their way for us. Had a great band play in the lobby one the nights we were there, plus at a courtyard across from the hotel the night before. Room was clean, a little dated, but heard from the staff that they were gradually updating rooms. Pool was very clean as well. Had a very nice breakfast in the hotel. Location was great. more

a great hotel in a slightly crazy city! 1/18/2011

a lovely hotel with all the service and quality you would expect. more

A taste of Old El Paso 1/12/2011

Great hotel for the money. Best part of the hotel is the Dome Bar. A gorgeous, historic ambiance. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. A great value. more

Great El Paso hotel! 1/7/2011

As usual, the Camino Real was superb. The rooms are almost soundproof, are comfortable and very clean. Food from room service or either of the two onsite locations was good. New recipes have been added and more are in the works. We love this place! (My husband always "forgets" how great the hotel is.) more

Class A hotel 1/3/2011

Class A hotel, Just writing to say that we honestly can't see what the bad reviewers saw that was bad in the hotel. During our stay their we got a huge Junior Suite which had a marvelous view of downtown El Paso. All the furniture and bedding was modern and not old and frumpy. Carpeting was very clean and seemed newly installed to match the muted red decor. A/C worked correctly with no issues at all. The suite we stayed in had modern draperies and was very well lit inside. The bed was awesome and huge. New modern linens with full set of huge pillows and blankets that were comfy. You get the option of having your bed done everyday with new comfy modern linens or they can reuse the same linens to save on not using detergents. They are part of eco-friendly hotels who try to use less earth-damaging practices ie. less harmful chemicals, energy efficient lighting (the reason those bath lamps take 2 mins which is really less than a minute to warm up to full brightness). Great choice if you're into staying in a more eco-conscious hotel. The vicinity of downtown with the El Paso Museum of Art right directly behind the hotel and a Plaza theatre where you can check out touring Broadway plays next to it. Plus you are right in the central bus hub where you can take a 25 cent trolley to go to El Paso's sunset heights district or to the bridge of Mexico to partake in fine dining/sight seeing or check out the university. The hotel itself has a great decor the Dome bar is just a nice place to be in because it's something you don't see every day. Likewise around the dome bar you have various actual authentic paintings or Lithographs from renound artists i.e. Salvador Dali, Picasso that you don't see at a Hilton or any other hotel in the area another great site to have your cameras ready to take pics of. Parking is pretty big so no worry about not finding parking and the cars are real close to the elevators to bring up your staff if you don't take advantage of the bellboy service. In/Out privileges everyday for 5 more

Very friendly 12/28/2010

Awesome Dome in the Bar My room was clean and very nice but wouldn't warm up but a call to the front desk got that fixed quickly too! And the tech was very friendly. Went to the bar for a night cap only to be surprised that they had a great band playing and ended up staying longer than I first thought. more

A gem in El Paso Downtown! 12/23/2010

Stayed in the El Camino for Thanksgiving weekend. Hotel must have been recently renovated. Very clean rooms. The lobby and bar is a one-of-a-kind old world charm gem. Hotel staff was super friendly, waived parking fee and went beyond the call of duty to accomodate us. Hotel is perfectly situated in downtown with convention center and shopping, restuarants in walking distance. Would for sure stay again. more

Staying here again on next business trip 12/21/2010

Staying here again on next business trip I booked this reservation the day of and was very pleasantly surprised based on other reviews. My large room was on the 9th floor with a great view. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff was exceptional. The restaurant downstairs in the lobby had fabulous food and the Tiffany dome bar had live music every night I was there which was a treat after working all day. I am coming back into town in July for business and I am booking here again! more

Funtastic 12/17/2010

Hotel was great! The hotel bar was super with super bartenders! more

Exceptional Hotel 12/15/2010

This is a wonderful old hotel. The architectual elements make it stunning visually. I stayed over a long weekend on 8th floor and the view was great. The service received was well above average from a friendly and helpful staff. Camino Real is easy to get to and is in a good location to get to anywhere in the city relatively easily and parking is great. (You receive a parking credit if you fill out the hotel feedback form.) The hotel is old so do not expect state of the art amenties, but the rooms are roomy, clean, and comfy. more

Quality Hotel 12/9/2010

I recently stayed at the Camino Real in El Paso for the weekend. If you are into the nightlife the union plaza is amazing and the camino real is conveniently located just a few blocks away. The shuttle drivers were very friendly and always more than willing to help us out with rides to nice restaraunts. The hotel is very nice and is worth the money. more

I also loved this hotel 12/7/2010

Set right in the heart of downtown El Paso, the Camino Real is an excellent hotel in every way. The rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly - they were particularly helpful in helping us get to Juarez airport. All the facilities are good too. The bar is spectacular with its Tiffany dome and was always busy and lively - although I did not care for the loud 80s rock music the band played but that's maybe what Texmex people like. We ate once in the Dome restaurant which. although pricey, was high quality dining and recommended. Maybe after several days in Mexican hotels, this comfortable, historic hotel seemed especially good but I will definitely stay again if I had a chance. more

Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of downtown 12/2/2010

Great location downtown with nice views. Do not miss having a drive at the famous Dome Bar with the Tiffany Ceiling dome. The parking lot is a little precarious, be super careful. We were told by other colleagues about the wonderful (& free) continental breakfast downstairs, the staff did not tell us, but we checked and it was indeed free and delious. more

Great beds 12/1/2010

Stayed at the Caimino Real with my 7 year old over Thanksgiving and was greated nicely, they put a refrigerator in my room and our beds were FANTATICALLY comfortable. Lots of pillows and veru comfortable. Only thing I did not like is they did not have any TV stations for kids (i.e. cartoon network, etc). Other than that hotel was great. more

Great Value 11/30/2010

Convenient, Elegant, Will stay there again more

We had a fantastic stay at The Camino Real Hotel 11/29/2010

Arriving early to this hotel, they accomodated us with an early check in which was great as we had travelled a overnight to get there. We found the rooms to be excellent, very clean and big. Everything you could want except a fridge. It is well located and we found it great value for money and dined in their restaurants - spot on. more
