My wife and I have been Cameo Salon & Spa customers for over five years. My wife has Laurie as her hair stylist and I get my haircuts from Yolanda. We both like the professional cuts or, style suggests these professionals provide.\r Laurie and Olaf are the managers of the Salon & Spa. Olaf a former nurse with chronic back problems similar to mine suggested I try the pressure massage from his new spa masseuse \r Kiki. I must admit I was skeptical at first. I had been suffering since a return from a VA-PA trip on October 20th. The throbbing pain when walking was on right side from the gluteals-posterior mid-thigh muscles - knee- and bottom of the foot. \r In summary Kiki assured me that she would adjust her pressure if it was too painful. It was so painful the first hour treatment that she could not work the right side as she normally would.\r However, I could walk out without any pain when I left the salon. So, I did some shopping for a few hours. Olaf and Kiki had both forewarned me that there would be pain afterwards for a couple of days. I felt so good the next morning that I mowed the yard for a couple hours(power mower not riding mower). \r The pain baseline before the first pressure massage on a scale from 1-10, varied from 6 to 9 even when taking maximum doses of IBUP(800mg) & Tylenol (1000mg) every 4 hrs. The window for walking without pain was zero. If I walked or was seated even on a pillow there was pain. No position in bed allowed me to sleep more than an hour or two. \r \r The first massage(60 minutes) allowed me to lower the doses down to 600mg IBUP and 650 mg Tylenol-extended release tablets, but I still had to take them every 4 hrs. I had to continue to use a cane to walk, but now with less pain. Pain scale 6-7 with a limited window for activity.\r \r The second massage 4 days later was a 90 minute massage and Kiki had a change to work my legs and back extensive this time. Sleeping was still naps for 1-2 hrs.\r The results of this massage was that it now allowed me to walk with a cane after 2-3 IBUP's and, 1- 650 mg Tylenol every 6-8 with a pain index from 4-7 depending on the duration of my activity. Sleeping was still napping for 1-3 hrs.\r \r The third massage 10 days later was again a 90 minute massage. Fantastic change.\r The results a week later are that for the last 2 nights I have been getting 7 hrs of uninterrupted sleep. The IBUP dosage has dropped to 400mg tablets taken every 6-8 hrs with none needed before bedtime. Now the 2-500mg of Tylenol and the Melatonin I was taking along with the IBUP before are allowing me a full nights sleep. This time I followed Kiki advise and allowed myself more rest time between activities. I put more cushion pads in my shoes and roll around the house on my pillowed desk chair to rest and still get something done.\r @ I can now walk without a cane and not have excruciating pain for 15 - 20 minutes. I basically use the cane if I have overdone my walking without it.\r The pain level has changed to a range of 2-5..only a 5 if I have slept the 7 hours and not had a change to take a couple IBUP.\r \r I would recommend going to have Kiki's 90 minute deep pressure massage for a ""delightful relaxing - pain experience"" that will expedite recovery of various musculoskeletal system disorders. If you are healthy treat yourself to a relaxing massage. \r \r ***** A five star rating!!!!!\r Ron Goddard\r \r \r \r \r more

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/15/2013

I am very disappointed at the salon as I went by there one day last week to see Kristin Davis who seemed very sweet and helpful as I had had a very bad experience with extensions that left my hair in really poor condition, additionally broke. Kristin assured me that she would be able to place new extensions in my hair and was supposed to call me the next day to advise me on what hair products she recommended for me to use in order to get my hair back into some sort of condition. I left the salon feeling relieved that someone actually cared and was going to become my new stylist. I never heard back from Kristin so I have since taken my business elsewhere and have found another person to do my entensions. more

Great haircut! 7/10/2011

I moved here two and half years ago and had been unsuccessful in my search for someone who could give me a good pixie haircut. I tried three different hairdressers and hated the way I looked. In desperation, I called Cameo Salon based on a review I read of Richard, and made an appointment with him. He is a total artist! I left delighted with my look, and needless to say, I found the perfect stylist for me. more

Will Not be Returning! 4/23/2011

Torn!\r I must say that as far as my stylists went I was impressed! Kristen did a fabulous job both coloring and cutting my hair. She did a awesome job listening to what I wanted and creating that for me. \r \r However for the amount of money I paid I went for an experience, and that I did not get. No one greeted me when I walked in and no one even told Kristen I was waiting. My experience with my stylist was wonderful conversation and she had great knowledge however the conversation I heard around me was not to impressive! \r \r One of the stylists...I later found out it was one of the owners of the salon was engaged in a conversation with her client that was full of gossip and negativity...what made it worse was that she was talikng about someone I knew! Then I overheard her talking about her own staff to another stylist. Very unpleasant! \r \r I also received some kind of hair treatment there which I thought would be a enjoyable relaxing experience...it was not! The shampoo bowls are incredibly uncomfortable and the whole process of getting my hair washed was awful! It felt like I was back there FOREVER b/c it was so uncomfortable, and I left with a stiff neck!\r \r I wish Kristen the best for she is outstanding but b/c of these other factors I WILL NOT be returning to this salon for my hair nor will I be telling any friends to go there! I almost did not write a review I rarely do but I think people should know how dissappointed I was in the ownership and experience! more

WORST HAIR SALON EVER!! 1/26/2011

WORST SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! I went in for full highlights and left with brassy, damaged, broken hair, and a burn on my scalp from the bleach (which is not supposed to touch your head). I called them the day after and after being re-assured by the receptionist and one of the owners that I would be taken care of and be 100% satisfied, they had the other owner (the wife) call me back. She talked to me like I was an idiot! Telling me that I had an allergic reaction to the dye, because "I'm just not used to using high quality products!" Are you freaking kidding me?!?! How did she know what products I was using?!? Also, she told me that I should come in and let her look at my hair to see if they can fix it. And that if they could fix it, I would have to sign a waiver, bc they could further damage my hair! Well, its been 6 months since, and I am now a brunette thanks to all the damage and broken hair that Brittany gave me :( more

Great Salon! 10/20/2010

I've been going to Cameo for probably two years now. I started out just getting my eyebrows waxed, and eventually switched to getting my hair cut there. While they don't really do crazy coloring (which is fine, I color my own hair), they do FANTASTIC cuts. Everyone on staff has always been very kind and friendly. I've recommended several friends here and they've been happy with the treatment they've received as well. I usually schedule my appointments last minute for waxing or my hair and can get in within a week, which is great. I've never had to wait longer than that. Sonia is fantastic for brows, Monica is great for pedicures and Laurie is AMAZING with hair. I highly recommend this place. more

Cameo after 6+ years of do it myself 5/17/2008

I was pretty confident in my own cutting and coloring. I was only a third of the hours short of the training for being a stylist. Yes. I was a beauty school drop out. \r I went to Cameo after rcv'g a gift certificate for Christmas. I was apprehensive so it took me 9 or so months to actually go. I knew it was a salon. I knew it was upscale. I didn?t want it to be suffocating & stuffy or pretentious. It isn?t! Gr8 people, great atmosphere & uber skilled stylists. \r I gave Yvette free reign for the cut and promised that I'd be back for color. I explained how willing I was to experiment. All I told her was that I was a do it myself-er and that I was looking for a change. I went from 500+ colors of blonde and brown to my natural color (I was curious if I had any ""natural white"" coming in). And she gave me the best cut I ever had!! I am still going to see Yvette and I adore her skills. She gave me a short asymmetrical bob. People actually ask me where I get my ""hair did"" (LOL) nowadays! I LOVE IT!!!! I love Cameo and I love Yvette!\r Pros: Great people, great location, very skilled stylists Cons: wee bit pricey more

New ownership,Chic decor,Awesome cuts and color 4/20/2008

New ownership obviously made a difference.I've read some bad reviews about Cameo during the previous ownership , but heard someone else bought them. Decided to give them a try. I received the best hair color in years. The stylists are great and service prices are reasonable. My hair stylist was ready for me as soon as I walked in the door. The new interior remodeled decor is chic. Pros: Stylist make you feel at home.Love the coffee/tea/cake bar Cons: They need more earrings for sale in display more

BIT PRICEY, SERVICE OK 11/15/2005

I went for a hair highlight and cut. I did have to wait about 15 minutes even though I had an appointment. The man who did my hair didnt push to hard on the products but it seemed he needed to consult several other high stylists there how to do the highlight and which color to choose. I would have liked the highlights to be more vibrant whereas it came out more "natural looking". PROS: VARIETY OF SERVICES AVAILABLE CONS: PRICEY more

Not Impressed 10/6/2005

I had to wait over 20mins for my appointemnt. The prices were a little high compared to other salons in the area. The staff was friendly but my stylist push thier hair products. I would not go back more

High Price, ok service 9/7/2005

I went with a gift certivicate. It had been a long time since I did anything for myself. I got my nails done. Jennifer was great, she even changed the color after I didn't like the first one. The man who did my hair was good, but used to many styling products and tryed to sell me some. He really didn't know how to wax my eyebrows, I wasn't satisfied so he had another lady come over and even them out. All in all, I payed to much even with the gift certivicate. more
