There were times I wondered if I had the Mom gene. After an unsuccessful experience with an Au Pair I called Cambridge Nanny Group. I'm so glad I did! Cambridge matched me with a terrific nanny who expertise is twins. The confidence and energy she brings to work each day has transformed our home. We have become parenting partners. Experienced Mom here who had a a great nanny before she fell in love, got married, and moved to Ohio. Damn her. :-) I reached out to several agencies and Cambridge happened to present the nanny I liked best. I hired her. My take on Cambridge is they're nice, down to earth, normal, cool women who bring their senses of humor and enthusiasm along with their professionalism. I chose their contingency search which meant that they they didn't charge me anything until I hired a nanny. Liked that a lot. I'm not fancy or high profile by any means (Live in a bungalow on Ravenswood) . Deciding to have having a nanny was an enormous financial sacrifice for us. From day one I got the sense that Cambridge cared about finding the best nanny for my family and I appreciated their approach. Overall a good experience but when searching for a nanny recommend reaching out to several agencies so you have several options to choose from. more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I had the most negative customer experience of my life with this company. The nanny they placed with us was not working out, so we requested new candidates (part of the ""guarantee"" they tout). They ignored us and did not send any other candidates, forcing us to go elsewhere (Northshore Nannies, who were great). To make matters worse, despite their ""guarantee,"" when I asked for a refund of their hefty $2500 fee, the owner first rejected the possibility out of hand. After much negotiation, she agreed to pay and I agreed to accept 50% ($1250) as a refund for their failure to fulfill the services they ""guaranteed."" That promise was made months ago, and I haven't received a penny. The owner stonewalled me and apparently now has gone back on our agreement. So on top of terrible customer service, there is no honest dealing here. Words cannot describe the extreme frustration it has been dealing with this disappointing company. more

I appreciate data and numbers so I found the personality tests on their candidates unique and surprisingly informative. Satisfied with the service. Very satisfied with nanny we selected. Would have preferred not to have paid a placement fee but came up empty handed searching for a nanny on my own. Overall a good investment. more

We have never been disappointed for one second. She's always bright eyed and bushy tailed from the crack of dawn to the early evening. Her energy is incredibly - I couldn't do what she does. She has integrated into our family phenomenally and quite frankly I don't know what we'd do without her. Here's the kicker - last week our nanny was on vacation and Cambridge Nanny sent over a temp nanny to cover at no additional charge. They are one of the best nanny agencies ever to deal with. I think why so many nannies work with them is because they really care. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting the owner you will find her to be warm, knowledgable, supportive, and fair. I hired Cambridge for a unique situation and the agency's owner, Ingrid, made me feel like her team could fill my need. Unfortunately that did not happen. Ingrid consistently missed the deadlines she set for herself and I had to keep prodding her to send me additional candidates. She was able to place a temporary nanny for my family, but I was not satisfied and indicated that I was very interested in talking to more candidates for the long term. It took a month for her to arrange an interview with a candidate I'd consider for the long-term.\r \r Moreover, I never felt like Ingrid understood what I wanted in a nanny, so the majority of candidates she presented were not at all a fit. She knew the basic requirements, but never tried to get an understanding of the qualities our family needed in a nanny for it to be a good fit. When I confronted her on this issue, she dismissed those as “soft skills” that were not very important. While she will tell you in the beginning of your search that selecting a nanny is a very personal decision, she really did not seem to grasp that personality is a huge factor in the nanny search process.\r \r Untimately I identified a permanent nanny through my personal network. Ingrid offered to give me a partial refund since I was so dissatisfied. That was two months ago and I am still waiting for the refund. more

Unfortunate experience - we hired a nanny through this group only to find that she was a total dud. We realised this within days of her starting and informed the Cambridge nanny group. They DO NOT offer refunds but will continue the search for a replacement. This is written in the Terms & Conditions which is a button you click on the bottom of the form you fill out with your details. Given that they provided us with a nanny of such poor quality we were slightly unwilling to waste more time with them. We had previously interviewed a candidate through another agency and decided to hire her. Of all the nanny agencies we have used Cambridge nanny group is the only agency that does not offer any type of refund. Very disappointing given the poor quality nanny they provided. more

Every so often I encounter a service provider that makes me so happy that I become a company evangelist. Cambridge Nanny is wonderful. View video's of candidates before meeting them. Brilliant! Fully vetted candidates. Fantastic! Their nannies pass a battery of tests including a psychological/ emotional stability test. Phew! I truly appreciated their approach - never a hard sell or push to ""buy"" a particular nanny. The staff is super friendly. I?m talking so nice that you can?t help but be in a better mood when talking to them - and it's genuine. more

Here's the lowdown. Nanny Job Boards suck. You end up screening oodles of resumes of people I wouldn't trust to watch my pet rock. I then contacted three nanny agencies. The first one told me about all their qualification and awards then proceeded to bad mouth their competitors. They seemed more interested in marketing themselves than listening to my childcare needs. (Scratch from list) The second agency was very nice but they didn't seem to have many qualified candidates (scratched from list). The third agency didn't answer phone or return my call (scratched from list) I asked for suggestion from friends and my boss recommend I try Cambridge Nanny Group. Never heard of them before. This agency needs to do more marketing to get their name out there because their service rocks! Being able to screen candidates from a computer is awesome! We ended up hiring a nanny my wife and kid love. +'s : no nonsense, professional, prompt, and delivers. Good post placement follow-up as well. Virtual Nanny Interviews are freaking brilliant! -'s: Not every nanny video was a personality fit. They sent 5 videos and I passed on 3. They were qualified nannies but just didn't click with them. Higher prices for premium service but then again aren't nannies for rich folk anyway. more
