Stay Away!! Suzanne H's experience isn't isolated. I too had a bad customer service experience where they were unapologetic and argumentative. more

Nut allergies beware!!!!!!! 11/27/2011

I just recently placed an expensive dessert order with the cafe for I do believe they have the most amazing desserts. I inquired about nuts in their baked goods for I have a niece that has a nut allergy and was informed that there were no nuts in their apple pie when indeed, there are nuts baked into the crust. This then caused a visit to the emergency room on Thanksgiving evening and when I brought it to the owner's attention, there was no apology and nothing was done to make the situation better. Instead, the owner just became argumentative and defensive and had a very bad attitude! I was shocked!!!! I understand simple mistakes can be made however, when it comes to food allergies, which can possibly lead to a life or death matter, should you not train/inform your sales associates of what ingredients are in your baked goods? Am I really expecting too much? The whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth and could have been eased with just a bit of empathy and a simple apology and efforts made to rectify the situation. So in all, if you have nut allergies, stay clear of the cafe and if you do have a bad experience, do not expect an apology or anything done to rectify the problem. more

Delectable Sweets and More Delivered with a Smile! 7/23/2007

From the moment you walk into Ganache to the moment you leave, you feel as if Hoboken never was more classy or refined. The selection of pastries, sweets and goodies is vast and even one interested in a more hardy or substantial breakfast lunch or dinner would have no problem finding something tasty to eat in or take out. Live music is frequently played by always a subtle but classy musician and the entire staff is intent on making your day and your coffee as pleasant an experience as possible. Do go to Ganache, Dont wait ! Pros: Ambiance more

Gourmet Desserts 7/18/2007

Ganache is the highlight of my Hoboken experience and has been a second home to me. Amazingly friendly staff and owners, Jessica and Keith, make your experience so special. From quiches to almond croissants to yummy cinnamon muffin... breakfast at Ganache is my weekend thing. Jean Claude's cakes are also out of this world. The Ganache cake and chocolate mousse cake are my favorites. Ganache feels like Paris in Hoboken (with a little of American twist of course) more

Decadent and delightful cafe that left you with a fun feeling 7/14/2007

After traveling from an area that does not know what a croissant is, we were delighted to come upon Ganache. This unique cafe delighted us with a wonderful, delicate and decadent selection of pastries and desserts as well as wraps. It was heaven to share and sample the variety while making a game of which was the favorite. Pros: Unusual Selection; friendly service Cons: Finding the location more

Amazing! 5/22/2007

Yum is all I can say about this place! I just went there after reading the rough review about the white chocolate mousse (made me curious!) I ordered it and it was delicious!! I guess different strokes for different folks! I actually met the owner (Jessica) and she was so nice and explained to me what the difference in sizes of the cake meant. Also got a free sample of a chocolate chip cookie!! Hooray for chocolate! I liked the white chocolate mousse so much I bought the bigger one for a dinner party I was headed to for Mothers Day and everyone was so happy! more

Avoid a potenital disaster! 3/11/2007

They lure you in with samples of their cakes which taste great, but when you buy the bigger cake for $28.00, you'll get it home and be disappointed, because instead of all of the sweet indulgent flavor you experienced in the sample, the bigger cake is full of really dry cake with a strange flavor. HEAVEN FORBID YOU BUY A WEDDING CAKE FROM GANACHE, based on these samples that ARE NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE REAL DEAL. These samples have about 1 millimeter of cake, while the actual cake is about 90% cake which is really dry and tastes strange. more

This is one of my most favorite places ever! 2/19/2006

The dessert is what brought me here in the first place -- a friend of mine had ordered a cake from them and recommended that I check it out. I was not at all disappointed. Their main draw is their pastries, but they serve Illy coffee -- which is the best, in my opinion -- have a large selection of muffins and these huge ""overstuffed"" cookies. I could spend hours gobbling up their sweets, all of which are fantastic. I've also had their wraps and quiches a few times, which we both very good. They also do catering and from what I hear, they do a great job with that too. Friendly service, nice hang out away from the noise and crowds of Washington Street. Parking can be a pain, depending on what day and time you go, but it's a breeze compared to dowtown or Washington Street. Pros: free wifi, ATM, outdoor seating Cons: parking more

The best in town (and then some)!! 4/6/2005

I have to say, out of all the cafes I've been to over the years, this is the one that keeps bringing me back time and again. Whether it's for a quick coffee in the AM, or an evening treat, they aim to please. The staff, especially Jessica & Keith, are without a doubt as stellar as their desserts (too many to mention them all - a few favorites are Strawberry Shortcake, Cinnamon Pear tart, and Pumpkin Nougatine when in season). But it doesn't stop there...they have wonderful wraps, salads, teas, and of course COFFEE! I've also had the pleasure of working w/them for a cocktail party & they came through in a big way - hor d'ouerves, desserts, etc...everything was PERFECT & they were so helpful & accommodating. I honestly can't say a bad thing about them...except that maybe they should be open 24/7!! I love this place! more

Off the Beaten Path 3/26/2005

What a find! My friend and I had a delightful, first-time experience at this cafe. Friendly owners Keith and Jessica Carpentier made us feel right at home as they explained the different desserts they offer. We tried their mini signature cakes like the ""Chocolate Ganache"" and Hazelnut ""La Dome"" as well as their delectable cinnamon pear tart (my personal favorite). And if that weren't enough, Ganache also serves an impressive selection of organically-grown, aromatic, loose-leaf teas such as ""Shanghai Rose"" (white tea with rose petals), ""Burrough's Brew"" (black tea with coconut), and ""Ruby Sipper"" (blood orange and pear tisane). And you must try the ""Fiji"" tea--green tea with wild pineapple and papaya. The wonderful fragrance of the leaves alone will have you ordering a cup on the spot! A wide variety of high quality coffees, hot chocolates, cookies, muffins, scones, wraps and quiches are also available. Definitely worth a visit! more

great place for sweets and friendly service! 3/12/2005

This cafe has any type of coffee you would like. It's the best!! I stop by a few times a week. I had Ganache do a wedding shower cake for me. It blew everyone away both by taste and design. Their dark chocolate mousse cake is best I have ever tasted. Also, they created cookies designed as wedding dresses for the favors. It was a great added touch for the shower! more

Diamond in the rough 12/19/2003

Ganache is an adorable spot tucked away from the chaos of Hoboken's main drag. The staff is always warm and accomodating.... but that's only gravy. The desserts are not only the most beautiful I've ever seen, but by far the most delicious. The illy coffee is the perfect complement to any of the treats and for all you tea buffs out there, they have a wide selection of those too. A comforting treat for anyone who needs a self indulgent moment...and we all need those every now and then. more

Catered to please! 11/13/2003

I must say that Ganache do their job best at pleasing a customer. I ordered a basket of cookies and a food platter for my company's event. I was pleased at the presentation, and everyone loved both the food and the cookies. I especially liked the steak/vegetable wrap and chicken sandwich. They were also fresh. Oh, and the cookies were out of this world!! Big, chunky, and they melt in your mouth. One of my supervisors even complemented me and said that she'd love to use them for her Thanksgiving party. Thanks Ganache, you made me look good! :) Pros: Delivery more

Kid in a candy shop 1/15/2003

As if the food weren't rich, delicious and beautiful enough, Keith and Jessica, the owners, are amazingly friendly, sincere and helpful. I highly reccomend the rasberry-white and dark fudge cookies, as well as the Buffalo Bob wrap. I'm a Buffalo-native and it's the closest thing I've had to authentic wings since coming to NYC. more

You won't be disappointed! 1/6/2003

This cafe has it all...great service, great ambience, great coffee and last but not least...great desserts! Tucked away in uptown Hoboken, Ganache is certainly one of those places that you just can't get enough of! A frequent visitor, I've sampled most of the desserts (La Dome is to die for!) and as an admitted coffee junkie, theirs is out of this world (trust me!)!! But words alone don't do this cafe and all its decadent offerings justice...once you go, you'll see why! more

THE ""uptown"" hot spot 12/30/2002

Such a fabulous addition to ""uptown"" Hoboken. This little cafe is a great place to relax and enjoy quality, comfort food. I meet my friends here regularly and sometimes I enjoying ending a date here too! You can't go wrong with any of the desserts. more

A little slice of NY in Jursey! 12/19/2002

Finally. I have been waiting for a place like this to open up for sooo long. I used to always go to Cafe Lalo when I lived on the Upper Westside. Since moving to the Boken I haven't found any place like it until I accidentally came across Ganache ( They need a bigger sign- but maybe its better that way so they get don't get mobbed..anyway back to my review.) If you're looking for just an every day dessert there are plenty other places to go to but if you need something a little special and you're accustomed to NY standards then it's worth your trip to this new little place in ""Uptown"" Boken. Pros: quality, unique selection Cons: location, price more

Is this place heaven???????? 12/19/2002

It took me awhile but once I found Ganache I can't control my cravings for their cafe and desserts. I wish they had advertised more so that I would have discovered this hidden gem a lot sooner. I consider it a crime that they've been in Hbocken for nearly a year and I just recently stumbled upon this desert lovers paradise. All my holiday deserts will be from Ganache. Pros: great desserts/cafe, cooperative service Cons: location, parking more

Noch at Ganache 12/9/2002

Ganache's coffee is rich and robust and the COFFEE MOCHA IS TOO DIE FOR! I have sampled many of the delectible treats served at this hip, chic yet comfortable cafe. Picking one favorite dessert is impossible-they're all amazing! But a definite must have is their Lemon Tart. Also their quiche IS for ""real men"" and women, too! more
