Friendly, Warm and Welcoming 8/26/2009

I have been dining at The Buttery for years and have traditionally celebrated my birthday there along with other special occasions for several reasons. The two most important that come to mind is that John and his staff have always treated us as if we were family and then there is the food. Having dinner there is something that you will be talking about for a long time. The crab cakes are out of this world and their salad is so fresh, you will think that everything was just picked from the garden. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE BUTTERY! My kind of place 8/24/2009

Food was excellent. I had a blue cheese salad that was off the hook! Loved the service. Very professional. Felt well taken care of. If you go, Try the Buttery specialty coffe drink. Smooth going down, it takes you by surprise and knocks you off your feet! Pros: Best salads in town Cons: $$$ more

My service was good, but others.... 8/4/2006

I ate at the Buttery recently, and my service was excellent; however, I noticed that several tables next to me had much worse service. My waiter cleared plates, asked how each course was, and was very concerned with my experience. Other servers appeared to be going through the motions. I noticed one table where plates sat there for close to 30 minutes before the waiter cleared them. ATTROCIOUS. I summer in Rehoboth every year, but I would hate to have been at those other tables, considering the prices here!?!?! more

Bad service, surly waitstaff 8/3/2006

Would not recommend. Food great. Service leaves much to be desired. Resting on their laurels in Lewes. Need a wakeup call to the real world. more

Poor service 8/3/2006

I ate at the Buttery in May. I also had very poor service. I'm glad others are talking about it. When you're running $100 a head for a meal, you'd better be attentive, and these people don't know attentive. I get the whole lower slower thing in DE, but if you think you're running a fine dining establishment, start acting like it. more

This is the areas sole ""Fine DIning"" restuarant, if you desire great food service and atmosphere this is the palce, WARNING - like all great things it is not cheap. Pros: Service, Food, Ambience Cons: parking more
