Service and reliability do not meet expectations 1/4/2012

We purchased an expensive Trane Natural Gas heater in March 2006 from BNG. In less than 6 years, the circuit board has gone out 3 times. We asked BNG to look at to see if the cause for this recurring failure could be identified. BNG's only response was to offer to repair it for over $500. We have had it replaced with a less expensive heater that we think will provide better reliability. We also think the new company will provide better service. Pros: null Cons: null more

most horrible experience to date 7/29/2009

Eric (co-owner?) was quick to give me a price on installing a new furnace and central air conditioning in our new twelve hundred square foot addition. The price was written down and circled....NO TAX!!!!!!. Of course when we were billed for the balance...tax was added!. After several rude phone calls from Kim, finally the tax charge was removed. The tech that was assigned to our project (the best tech they had I was told) quit the company after only a few days of laying out my house, so I was blessed with a total rookie who had never done this before but was promised help was just around the corner. I could go on and on but what led me to wright this in the first place is that it is July 29th, 2009, it is 103 degree outside and even with our air conditioner on....it is 100 degrees upstairs! Eric did not pull a tape measure nor did he consider the additional square footage when "estimating" the bid, plus took over two months to finally finish the job plus I had to rent the equipment and cut the foundation myself in order to get the pipes from the old house to the new, which took me an extra week to do! AND I ACTUALLY PAID THEM!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did a rookie do my entire house, (no fault of his own, he was promised back up which never showed) we are now suffering with a sub standard system which will cost us several thousands of dollars to fix. The friends that recommended Burien Natural Gas to us had them install a new gas fireplace, which works only when it feels like it which is VERY seldom! Would I recommend them?, that choice would be your own. Pros: takes money very quickly Cons: forgets who you are after taking your money more

Owner does not stand by his guaranty 2/9/2009

My gas fireplace wasn't working so I scheduled a service call and was given a 3 or 4 hour window. The technician (Will) showed up on time but with his sick child in tow coughing and hacking (not the best impression, nor was there any explanation for him being there). He told me he couldn't really diagnose the problem and it could be a few different things. He cleaned dirty leeds, left and within a week, my fireplace went out. Being that I was just charged $100+ for 15 minutes of work, and my fireplace wasn't fixed, I asked Kim (scheduler) if I would be charged again. She said it would be up to the Will and to ask him when he arrived. He clearly didn't feel comfortable deciding so he consulted with the home office and was told I would have to pay again. Time is money, fair enough. 2 hrs and $600 later, my fireplace was working great. He told me parts and labor are guaranteed for 30 days so to keep the old parts just in case. Two weeks later, my fireplace went out and when I called to schedule another visit, I asked if I would be charged. Kim consulted the owner who said ?yes?. I kindly reminded her of the 30 day parts and labor warranty on the receipt. So as not to get stuck in the middle, she asked the owner (Eric) to call me direct. His response was "why do I have to call her?" A week later, I still have not heard from the owner despite having left a few messages. I consider myself to be a reasonable person and have only asked that the owner stand by his guaranty. Apparently he has so much business he doesn?t care about doing the right thing. Being in sales, this is baffling to me. To her credit, Kim has been very helpful and understanding, which I appreciate. I am to the point that I don?t even want the owner or his technician back in my home. If he lacks customer service skills, I can only imagine the level of service I have and would have received is no better. Most disappointing is the owner's lack of response which is no way to run a business. Pros: Kim is very nice/helpful Cons: Owner has poor customer service/lack of response more
