My gas fireplace wasn't working so I scheduled a service call and was given a 3 or 4 hour window. The technician (Will) showed up on time but with his sick child in tow coughing and hacking (not the best impression, nor was there any explanation for him being there). He told me he couldn't really diagnose the problem and it could be a few different things. He cleaned dirty leeds, left and within a week, my fireplace went out. Being that I was just charged $100+ for 15 minutes of work, and my fireplace wasn't fixed, I asked Kim (scheduler) if I would be charged again. She said it would be up to the Will and to ask him when he arrived. He clearly didn't feel comfortable deciding so he consulted with the home office and was told I would have to pay again. Time is money, fair enough. 2 hrs and $600 later, my fireplace was working great. He told me parts and labor are guaranteed for 30 days so to keep the old parts just in case. Two weeks later, my fireplace went out and when I called to schedule another visit, I asked if I would be charged. Kim consulted the owner who said ?yes?. I kindly reminded her of the 30 day parts and labor warranty on the receipt. So as not to get stuck in the middle, she asked the owner (Eric) to call me direct. His response was "why do I have to call her?" A week later, I still have not heard from the owner despite having left a few messages. I consider myself to be a reasonable person and have only asked that the owner stand by his guaranty. Apparently he has so much business he doesn?t care about doing the right thing. Being in sales, this is baffling to me. To her credit, Kim has been very helpful and understanding, which I appreciate. I am to the point that I don?t even want the owner or his technician back in my home. If he lacks customer service skills, I can only imagine the level of service I have and would have received is no better. Most disappointing is the owner's lack of response which is no way to run a business.
Pros: Kim is very nice/helpful
Cons: Owner has poor customer service/lack of response
