Goldilock's burger finally 2/23/2007

2/23/07 First off being a local to Vegas it is important to get there fast. The only way to do it is to valet to the North side off of Mandalay Bay Road. Go up the escalator and turn right. This is a very popular place so make time for a wait. My first impression was good walking in. There is a nice long bar to the left with lots of LCDs showing ESPN. There are plenty of booths and tables and the service staff were milling about carrying orders loaded with fries and onion rings. The acoustics are rather good for the amount of people dining. The environment is inviting enough for you to not want to leave. The options for picking your burger are the best I've seen. Four buns types, three primary meats, and at least 20 toppings. I went for the classic burger,$12.75, with Ridgefield farm beef, cheddar, and bacon. The burger was an inch thick and was not too juicy or too dry. It was cooked perfectly to order, medium well, so that it was just pink in the middle. This burger I'd like to dub the Goldilock's because 'It was just right'. The fries were very bountiful - at least two large orders at most other places. You can substitute sweet potato fries or onion rings since they sell on the side for $2.55. Service was great and served by a hottie. What more could you ask for except her phone number. Guys - this is the best overall burger I've been to in Las Vegas. It is not the best burger I've had, but when taking into account the options, the quality, atmosphere, and service - it is the model for how a burger place should be run. Pros: hamburger, atmosphere Cons: wait more

Great Burgers, Great Bartender 1/23/2007

We always go to Buger Bar for a great burger and drinks before a long night at the clubs. I highly recommend any of the burgers (angus, kobe and even the turkey which is suprisingly moist and delicious). The bartender we had last weekend was one of the best we had all weekend. A great buy in a city filled with over-rated restraurants owned by marginally talented big-name celebrity chefs. Pros: Great Food, Simple Delicious Flavors, Good Value, Great Service more

Best Burger Ever!!! 1/9/2007

We spent a week in Vegas during New Year's Eve 2006 and was fortunate to find Burger Bar the 2nd day there. We ate there 3 times during our stay. The burgers are awesome - you have sooo many options on buns & toppings. The Zuccini Fries and Sweet Potato Fries are incredible!! We will definately be going back on our next visit! With TV's in every booth, we were able to watch football games while enjoying our meals. It was such a fun experience. Service was outstanding as well!! Our entire group loved it and will recommend it to everyone!! Pros: Fast & Friendly Service, Best Burger I've ever had! Cons: Sometimes crowded - but well worth the wait!!! more

Good for comfort food 11/22/2006

Burger Bar is a refreshing break from the expensive, rather pretentious meals to be found in Vegas. I went there for dinner with a big group of people and the diner-style surroundings and inventive burgers were great! I highly recommend the Kobe beef burger and the chocolate burger dessert! Pros: Cheap, laid-back, great for groups Cons: Burgers were slightly over-rated more

Great for single diners ... 11/16/2006

I've been to this burger place at least once a year during my annual PPAI Convention at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. This is a quality place for a filling meal, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. The counter is very comfortable, the service is efficient, and the burgers are outstanding, and filling. I have had a different combo burger on every trip, so I can't vouch for the rest of the menu. But the food was first rate, the buns and accompaniments were delicious and well prepared, and the prices, for Las Vegas, esp. considering that you are dining in a super upscale shopping mall that is located between a huge casino and a convention center ... are reasonable. Pros: Clean, well lit, TVs at the bar if you're dining alone, and tall soft drinks ... Cons: A little noisy, always crowded, and a bit pricey for a burger ... but good value for the money. more

Yum! 11/7/2006

Came here with my coworkers while we were at a convention at Mandalay. I was skeptical at first considering I'm a vegetarian, but I work with all guys and they were sold on eating here. They had a pretty wide variety of choices, and they had more than 3 vegetarian choices, which I found somewhat surprising. You customize your burger - choose the meat, bread, then the toppings. Toppings are what make the burger - everything from avacado, truffles, the basics, to foie gras and some other wierd things. Ordered a side of sweet potato fries too, which were delicious. Dessert burgers were amazing, too! Very pricey though. Pros: Delicious, even for a vegetarian! Cons: Pricey for a burger more

Over priced 11/2/2006

If you like to pay more than $20 for a drink and a burger here's the place. The burger is ok and you get a wide selection of meats and toppings for your burger but each topping cost you around $1.00 or more. They are surely making money off the customers. Beer is expensive and service needs work. Cons: expenisve, service more

Fantastic burgers 10/27/2006

After sampling both, my money's on the Angus burger over the pricier Kobe beef burger. It's so great to order medium rare and get it! The quality of the ingredients is excellent, the staff The pricey Kobe beef burger isn't worth the extra money -is friendly, and the prices - for Vegas, mind you - are pretty good. One downside: it's definitely loud, with TVs in every booth on top of music and lots of people, but again, it's Vegas. more

Second Dinner in two trips, great stuff, but slightly pricey 10/22/2006

Had Dinner with a friend, both had kobe burgers. Mine was on ciabatta bread with mozzerella cheese, and I had 4 Kronenburg drafts to go along. Ordered it very rare, and was cooked perfectly. Both the hostess and the server were fantastic and very beautiful. Pros: Selection, Staff, Beer Selection Cons: A bit pricey for premium offerings. more

Great burgers fast service! 9/21/2006

We stopped here after having checked out of Mandalay Bay.. Yeah your going to pay about 13 bucks for a buger and fries but it's very yummy and worth it. The service was quick and friendly. Our cups were never empty.. I would definetly go back. Pros: Quick Service and Yummy burgers! Cons: Kinda expensive... but worth it. more

Great after concert eats 8/19/2006

We were starving after a concert and stumbled upon the Burger Bar. We were plesantly suprised. I had a turkey burger that was great along with sweet potato fries. The other 3 people I was with had burgers on different types of bread with different types of cheese and toppings. All were cooked exactly how they ordered them. When you order a burger you get just that anything else is extra. Someone had mentioned not to order water except for bottled. The tap water is pretty bad but just add lemon and it is ok. I never once had to ask for water the waiter was fantastic. We also got to watch the tv in our booth which was fun and gave us more to talk about. I would definately eat there again. Pros: Great service/food Cons: everything a la carte more

Overrated 7/14/2006

This place is overrated and overpriced. In and Out is better and you can eat there 10 times for the price of one visit to the Burger Bar. In addition, there is no vibe in the place. It's a great idea, but overrated. Pros: N/A Cons: Price, Ambiance, food more

Best Burger. Period. 7/11/2006

I'm from NYC and go to Vegas at least once a year. It is always a must to stop by at least once, but usually twice, on every visit I make to vegas. And, I always get the same. The American Kobe Beef burger on an onion bun with jalapeño bacon and whatever cheese the occassion calls for. But of course, get it medium rare. I've had the rare, and it is still good, but it's a bit cold and has a bit less flavor. If you get this, you won't be dissappionted. Stay away from ordering soda as it's always flat and do NOT under any circumstances order water - unless it's bottled. Vegas tap water is horrible. Pros: amazing burger Cons: soda is always flat more

yes and no 6/5/2006

Friday night, 30 min wait. Beautiful hostess suggested the bar, and found us 25 min. later. Brought us to a booth she said she thought we would like to watch the game. Waiter was excellent. Didn't hover, but was there when we needed him. Waiter and hostess suggested building our own, ""can't go wrong"". I agree. My buddy ordered a pre-assembled burger. We both raved. A group nearby complained of food taking too long and manager tone and attitude towards employees. They also were unhappy about that manager immediately seating a group that arrived and simply complained about the 30 min. wait, pushing everybody in front of them back. They though it was inappropriate and unfair. We agreed. Left extra tip to waiter and hostess for out of their way suggestions and accomodations. They were gracious and friendly. We will be back. Pros: attractive staff, great atmosphere, inexpensive Cons: crowded, loud more

Coolest Lunch Place in Vegas 1/21/2006

I had heard of Burger Bar a few months back, when my boyfriend and i decided to go to Vegas, we made sure this will fit in our schedule. It was better then we expected. Best Burgers we ever had, and a great atmosphere and feel in the restaurant, from the moment we walked in everyone was friendly and you can tell the entire staff is enjoying themselves. We sat at the Bar the first day we went, they were so busy there was no room for us to sit unless you want to wait 25 minutes. All the other days we went we waited at the bar, with some drinks waiting for our table. We stayed in Vegas 5 days and ate there 4 times for lunch. The second day we went the hostess recognized us as well as the Bartender. Not a place to be MISSED more

Underwhelming 11/27/2005

The decor of this restaurant was uninspiring and bland - definitely more suited to a chain restaurant than an overhyped hot spot. If they were going for the look of Hamburger Hamlet, they suceeded. Our service was probably the slowest I've ever experienced, and the veggie burger was a Gardenburger, which I could get from Wal-mart down the street. I'm still scratching my head as to why this place is consistently given glowing reviews in many Vegas guidebooks. Cons: Slow service, Bland decor, Bland food more

Rude Hostess taints the taste 9/27/2005

Based on the reviews and my love of burgers, I anticipated eating here daily. On September 22nd, we had the first meal of our mini-family reunion here. The hostess was distracted with a young man when we arrived. She asked how many, and I said ""five."" She mumbled something that sounded like ""...bussing tables..."" and walked off. I turned to my family and started talking about the Kobe burger. The hostess returned and started to seat us in front of the entrance. Since they weren't busy I asked if we could sit somewhere out of the main traffic. ""If that's what you wanted you should have said something before I pushed the tables together."" She snatched the menus up, strode to a booth and tossed the menus down. My sister said she rolled her eyes as she passed her and my parents. We never went back. more

Must Visit Restaurant 9/12/2005

I was in Vegas this past wekend for an annual pilgramage with some friends. We ate in very ""expensive"" big name restaraunts each night but by far the Burger Bar was our favorite place. We had lunch there all 3 days! The staff is great, the Kobe burger, is fantastic, and it really hits the spot for lunch or dinner. We actually phoned our orders in on Sunday and picked up the food to eat at the Mandaly sports book while watching the games. This place is a find in a city that I think has a lot of very overpriced and overrated restaurants. Enjoy. Pros: Food , Price , Atmosphere more

Best burger ever! 8/28/2005

I had a classic bacon cheeseburger with the regular beef (named Richfield, or something like that)and a sesame bun. It was so good I couldn't eat it fast enough. The beef was so flavorful. It was obviously hand pattied, and was tender and juicy, not dense. The bun was great. My husband got the burger topped with proscuitto, and while very tasty, he said next time he'd go for a non-gourmet type. Pros: Great burgers Cons: A bit pricy more

More Like Burger Blah 6/19/2005

With great sounding items like kobe beef, truffles, and sweet potato fries, I was expecting to really be wowed by this uber-burger joint. Sadly, I've had better burgers at fast food joints. The supposed ultra premium meat they use is perhaps wasted in something as rudimentary as a burger. The flavors were very subtle and not that exciting. Subtle is fine for foie gras, but not burgers! (and you can get foie gras on your burger if you like). 1 burger, side of fries, and 1 soft drink set me back $19 before tip. Pretty pricey for an average-tasting burger. Bottom Line: save $15 and go to your local drive-thru. more
