I recently moved to the Burbank area and was very excited to drive by what looked like a cozy local "Spa & Garden." While the Burbank Spa & Garden is charming and has a good selec...

Wow, reminds me of a true Finnish Spa 4/15/2007

I was in Finland some years ago. This place is setup just like the Finnish spa I was at. Beautiful entry garden. Well decorated lobby and massage area's. My masseuse was trained by the owner who is from Finland. I really enjoyed the service and the reminders of a wonderful culture. I highly recommend you try this place out. more

Longtime fan, Great service, Wonderful facials and massage 4/11/2007

I have been going here forever. I was looking through the Citysearch pages and decided give credit to a wonderful spa. The owner is from Finland and he believes in the old values of customer service. He also knows some wonderful massage techniques. The staff is always so happy and cheerful. This is a fantastic spa. You would really enjoy yourself here. Pros: Excellent service and massage more

Great service and massage 4/6/2007

Nice place, clean, friendly people. I really enjoyed it. Garden is nice. Lobby is beautiful. Massage was enjoyable. Pros: Nice and clean more

TERRIBLE SERVICE & CRUMMY MASSAGE!!!! 4/1/2007

I tried this place for waxing and facial early last year. That was a bad experience. This year, someone gave me a gift certificate and I was not that interested in going, but I went in thinking maybe the massage would be a better experience. WRONG. First of all, the customer service in this place is horrendous, and that was an indicator of how the rest of my experience went. Grungy, old facilities (once you get past the done-up lobby), zero privacy, loud, and below-average massage. I will never go back and would not recommend this place, ever. Stay away!! more

Pleasurable and uplifting 3/27/2007

Wow, I finally used the gift certificate I got at Xmas. Nice hot sauna, Great massage, very relaxing. The satff was nice and was really helpful. Thinking bout getting some gift certificates for my friends. Really enjoyed it. A+ Pros: Nice staff, great massage Cons: Didn't really find any more

Wonderful experience! 3/20/2007

I just came off a bad experience at another spa and was looking for something new. I walked into Burbank Spa and was immediately impressed with their ambience and professionalism. The manager, Sari, treated me like a VIP. She setup my facial and manicure for the next day. When I came back, the staff recognized me and called me by name, wow. I was escorted to a dressing room and my facial and manicure were both on time, no wait, I went from one right o the other with no delay. After I was through I relaxed in the sauna. I truly had a wonderful experience and suggest you treat yourself to this. Pros: Cheery staff, professional, well managed Cons: None more

Magical!! Great Service 3/12/2007

I bought a Valentines Day package from Burbank Spa and Garden. I was at first impressed by the beautiful garden you walk through to get to reception. Once inside I was warmly greeted by the staff who helped me to pick a wonderful day for my Wife which included a massage, facial and manicure. The gift certificate is a beautiful paper parchment, not that cold plastic credit card, it is very romatic looking. After my Wife spent her day she couldn't stop extolling on the wonderful treatment she was given, they made her feel like a Queen. I am ecstatic with the staff and management for such a beautiful facility and enjoyable experience for my Wife. I am planning a little spa vacation for myself, don't want to wait til Fathers Day. Pros: Professional staff, Customer comes first, beautiful facility Cons: Parking gets a little crowded, but there are side streets more

Money better spent elsewhere 2/26/2007

I got a hot stone massage here, and the guy talked to me the ENTIRE time. I even tried not responding to him, to see if he would shut up, but no luck. Way to pricy for what you get. I got a facial too. The lady wasn't very friendly. Pros: Very nice atmosphere. Cons: chatty massage sessions more

Run like the wind!! 2/19/2007

When I first arrived at Burbank Spa, I was pleasantly surprised at the great aroma in the garden. Although the front desk staff were a little on the unhelpful side, the spa seemed great. From there, everything went downhill. The dressing rooms were very small and had no doors for privacy. My Swedish massage was mediocre at best and the masseuse was not very talkative. I was actually surprised when the massage was over because she left the room and never came back!!! We ended up spending almost $600 there and I really felt like I had better experiences at other spas. The management was careless to detail and unhelpful. We felt that the service on one item was not that great and wanted some kind of reimbursement made. They never cared to call us back, despite the fact that they said they would. I would never give them my money if I were you. Run like the wind!!! Pros: none Cons: everything!!! more

WORST WAX I ever had.. 12/2/2005

This was the worst wax I ever had. And the facialist did not know what they were doing. It was very rushed and I did not feel it was worth the money. Cons: inexperienced, rushed, expensive more

Dirty and Old! 12/2/2005

The men's side is separate as they say, but it is very old and dirty. It looks like something out of a 1960's movie...the carpet is brown and grungy and the bathroom and changing areas are really musty. The sauna was super crowded and too small for all of the people that were in there. Also, the massage was just average. I was not happy with the overall experience. Pros: walk-ins available Cons: dirty, average massage, too crowded more

AVOID THE FACIALS/WAXING 11/30/2005

This was the worst wax I ever had. And the facialist did not know what they were doing. It was very rushed and I did not feel it was worth the money. Pros: nice decor Cons: bad waxing, sloppy esthetician more

Do not recommend!! 11/28/2005

My friend and I went in for massage sessions. We were greeted by a very rude receptionist, who showed us to a tiny dressing area that we had to share with about six other women. There was only one bathroom and it was small and dingy. Then, during my massage session it was very noisy and someone accidentally walked in. No privacy! the booths are miniscule and separated only by a thin curtain. Also, there was no parking. We will not recommend and were very disappointed. Cons: Noisy, Rude staff, Not worth the money more

  • The Scene
Separate facilities for men and women are provided for the comfort of customers and both areas are kept clean and aromatically pleasing. Most importantly, though, is that this is a truly relaxing experience. Complimentary fresh fruit is furnished to all clients. Guests aren't rushed out after they've paid. Gratuity envelopes are available for discreet tipping.

    The Services
After nearly four decades, these folks have R&R down to a science. Clients are encouraged to arrive early to use the sauna--with or without eucalyptus--both before and after massage appointments. The most popular services are the one-hour Swedish massage and the deep-tissue body work. Guests also savor European spa facials. Another room is dedicated to manicures and pedicures. A gift shop houses a wide array of candles, sea salts and Epicurean discovery kits.
