Best

I LOVE THIS RESTRAUNT!! WE FIRST ATE THERE WHEN WE WERE IN INDY. THE PIZZA IS GOOD, THE RAVIOLI IS AWSOME AND THE GARLIC BREAD AND SALAD ARE REALLY GOOD! I WOULD EAT THIS FOOD ...

Worst

The setting is unique and certainly explains the restaurant's popularity. That being said, please don't go there for the food. Ragu makes better pasta. Pros: seat large groups...

Taste and portions are gone, never again. 1/9/2011

Their portions have gone away but the prices went up. Dont waist your time with this Itilian chain. I loved it in the past but believe me I will never be back again. Spend your money elsewhere and read all the other reviews. We went here to celebrtate my sons 18th birthday so we did not make an ordeal at the resturant but the 12 dollar loaf of what you call garlic bread was hard to swallow both price wise and taste. I never review places but felt compeled to let fellow consumers know about this. They will not be in buisness long like this. Good ridence to what was a great resturant. more

A disappointing valentines dinner 2/14/2009

We just returned from Buca and we were very disappointed. We normally order the mozzarella garlic bread appetizer, and discovered it had changed. It was cut up toasted piece of french bread with a few mozzarella sprinkles on it. Worth about $1.50 - it cost 9 bucks. We asked the waiter and he said it changed from the former flat bread version about a month ago. It was terrible. In addition, because we ordered this item, we did not get the usual bread and oil at the table. What a rip. I then received my Chicken stratewhatever and the chicken had obviously been cooked hours before. It was rubberized with little texture left. My wife indicated her Lasagna was dry, and 90% noodle. We eat at the Columbus Buca more often - and have not been disappointed like this. The food was not good at all. What happened to Buca? more

May have been the worst wait service I have ever had in a restaurant. 1/8/2009

Yes, it was Christmas Eve. Yes, it was busy. But there is no excuse for a restaurant of Buca di Beppo's rating to treat customers with poor service. From 5:30 to 9:30 with 11 customers seated in our group, we received a total of 2 loaves of bread. It took 40 minutes to get a bottle of wine, 30 minutes for a bar drink. I finally got up and found a hostess to ask if she could find our wait person as we were ready to order. Another person in our party also asked to track down our server later to freshen drinks. The food was average, not special in any way. The manager was very sympathetic and agreed from our conversation with him that there was no excuse for the service. The bill was paid. The person in our party who made the reservation may have been given gift certs for the next visit...after that I doubt we will go back. We use a 3 strike rule and they struck out in one visit. more

Itialian Food that is OK, but picturess are pretty neat 10/24/2008

Food is large, and prices are not to bad. The salads at the beginning of the meal are VERY yummy!! I do find it somewhat average, but not bad for the price and the staff is really quiet nice!! Pros: Have a party ther, it is worth it!! Cons: Not really a con, some food bland, but other food was GREAT more

Ok for a chain restaurant 7/15/2008

This is an ok restaurant for a chain... their cocktails and beer prices are very high. The food is good and kids have fun here. I would go back, but maybe not drink $6 beers. Pros: Good food, great for kids Cons: Beer cost too much - can buy a six pack for $6! more

THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD EVER!!! 7/11/2008

I LOVE THIS RESTRAUNT!! WE FIRST ATE THERE WHEN WE WERE IN INDY. THE PIZZA IS GOOD, THE RAVIOLI IS AWSOME AND THE GARLIC BREAD AND SALAD ARE REALLY GOOD! I WOULD EAT THIS FOOD EVERY DAY IF I COULD! WE HAVE NEVER GONE TO BUCCA'S AND HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE. WE HAVE GONE WITH AS FEW AS 2 PEOPLE AND AS MANY AS 18 AND THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS ALWAYS GREAT! Pros: FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT AND FRESH!! Cons: IS A LITTLE PRICY more

There's a reason there is never a line... 6/7/2007

I had heard lots of good things about this restaurant, so I gave it a try - needless to say I was disappointed, but, hey, everyone can have a bad night, so when my Mother and Sister were in town to meet my boyfriend, I thought I'd give it another shot...BIG mistake. The food is incredibly overpriced, salty, and just generally NOT good. Pros: I didn't have to worry about anyone seeing us eating there more

POOR Customer Service 6/13/2005

Buca di Beppo mailed $10 gift cards to my neighborhood. After reading the fine print, several times, there was no mention of using several cards together. My family and I went there, ate great food. When we presented our cards to pay for the meal, The snotty waitress let out a big sigh and went to get the manager. The manager said we couldn't use all of the cards together. We asked him to show us this rule on the cards or the packing it came in. He could not and proceeded to treat us like 4th class citizens. Horrible Customer Service...DO NOT EAT there. Pros: Good Food, Nice portion size Cons: Customer Service, Wait Time more

Not recommended for large event 7/16/2004

Our event was a wedding rehearsal dinner. First, they switched us from the room we had originally reserved---without letting us know in advance...guess they thought we wouldnt notice once we were in there. We had chosen a versatile menu with many choices for our guests. They served us a completely different menu. I think when they switched us to another room, they didnt switch our menu. Manager and owner werent very helpful. Their only concern was in letting us know that we wouldnt have to pay for the extra food (meaning wrong menu) they served to us. Never did get the entire menu we ordered. Unimpressed with managerial attitudes and overall service. Cons: , Misguided concern more

This is not true italian 3/30/2004

I was really intrigued by the mass crowds awaiting outside for this italian meal. Once I got in I highly enjoyed the atmosphere, but the food and service was horrible. First someone should teach the chef or company what Italian food really tastes like. For starters DONT ORDER the CHICKEN SALTIMBOCA they dont make it right. It is one of my favorite dishes and it sucks here. It is made with madeira wine and not lemon butter sauce. Olive Garden does a much better job with italian than this place. Pasta sauces are tasteless. Pros: atmosphere Cons: , over priced, prepared wrong more

Superb 1/24/2004

I was in a large group. The interior decor was unique. The service was excellent. The food portions were large enough for 2 or 3 people. Some ratings suggested poor parking. I found the restaurant to be surrounded by very large parking lots. This restaurant's popularity suggests that parking next to the entrance may not always be available. Pros: Good parking, Unique decor, Large groups Cons: Smoky bar more

Poor Choice 8/5/2003

Everything (even the salad) was drenched in tasteless cooking oil. Nasty. Eat at a locally-owned Italian restaurant like Germanos or Ferrari's, not this mass-produced corporate cookie-cutter disaster. Cons: greasy, disgusting more

Italian Family Style 10/8/2002

Buca di Beppo has a great style - family style. The portions are tremendous and are meant to be shared. One dish can easily serve 2-3 people. The atmosphere is very cool with lots of pictures all over the wall, Italian music playing, and lots of people having a great time. The food is good - especially the garlic bread and the green beans. It is rather expensive - $40 or so for two people, but it's a lot of fun. Pros: Family Style, Great Atmosphere, Appetizers are good Cons: Expensive, Pasta is Weak, Crowded on weekends more

buca di great-o! 8/27/2002

i first tried bucca when it first opened and the waits were two hours or more on a weekend night. however, the wait was worth every minute. the staff brought out their pizza to serve to us hungry 'waiters.' i thought that this was great customer service and i didn't hear any complaints from the other patrons. if it's your first time there, you get the grand tour which starts right in the kitchen, the most important place in the restaurant. the staff is so sure that it is offering the best food that they have put a 'kitchen table' right across from the chefs so you can see everything. as for large parties, this place is built for it. i've attended birthdays with parties of at least eight and bucca makes sure that no one is left out and that there is plenty of space for everyone. Pros: a lot of great food, fun atmosphere, great for big parties Cons: extra smoky bar more

No, thank you! 8/23/2002

The setting is unique and certainly explains the restaurant's popularity. That being said, please don't go there for the food. Ragu makes better pasta. Pros: seat large groups Cons: horrible parking, food more

Tremendous 8/8/2002
