Brevard Shutters

Gee is it possible that the people that write nasty reviews are just nasty people? Brevard Shutters has been in buisness for over 10 years and have put shutters on hundreds and thousands of homes in Brevard County. I went to Brevard Shutters and visited their showroom. I was very impressed with the product, the people and the prices! I think if you put as many shutters on homes as they have and have 3-4 nasty people write nasty things your still way ahead of the rest. Id like to know who the realtor was because I want to know who not to buy a house from. Although I would recomend Brevard Shutters and their entire staff to everyone. Thank you for a Job well done! Beautiful job. I have been out of town for 6 months. Everything was coordinated over the phone including payment. It took a little longer than any of us had anticipated but I knew the entire time because of the communication. I had interviewed 4 different shutter companies. They were not the least but not the most. They offered to clean my existing shutters in 6 months and assured me they will be around. They are great. Pros: quality more

This was so much easier than I had ever anticipated! The prices were great the sales person, Marianne came to my home was very helpful and knew what would work best for us. They followed up with calls and kept us in the loop all the way through. Its funny how easy it is to write something good when you are so happy with sales and customer service. Some of the past notes on this site are not so nice and Im sure the people writing them are not so nice either. I guess they are perfect and never make mistakes! I don't think this company would have been around for as many years as it has if they had incompetent workers there. EVERYONE from sales (Marianne) to installation (Tony) to service (Boyd) was wonderful! The owners Boyd and Maria are great and took care of all the details. Thank you again for your professionalism. First let me say that I'm a local Realtor. Secondly, another local Realtor, the listing agent of the property to which I refer, recommended Brevard Shutters (BS). The listing agent had called Brevard Shutters & received a return call on 10/24 from their sales person Mary Ann who informed her they were unable to make it out due to they were booked but could come out next Friday at the earliest. Due to the property changing owners on 10/27 I called on 10/27 in the morning to confirm the appointment for Friday. Maria answered the phone and said that they easily could have come out 10/24 but couldn't find any appt. Apparently Mary Ann placed a sticky note on the books but never actually wrote in the book to confirm the time. Either way, we ended up scheduling 10/30 at 9:30am. On 10/27 at 2:20pm I received a VM from BS stating they'd like to reschedule for 10/28. I called back and got Mary Ann who didn't know anything about the call and refused to let me speak with anyone else. We scheduled for 10/28 between 12-1pm with BS to call me w/1 hr notice. On 10/28 at 12noon I called. Maria stated she didn't know anything about it. Upon checking Mary Ann wrote the new scheduled time for Wednesday, not Tuesday. I stated that if Mary Ann is this incompetant at scheduling maybe they should hire in one of the hundereds of Brevard County residents who would love to have a job. We went back to our original scheduled time of 10/30 at 9:30am. On 10/30 at 8:55am I received a call from the workers stating they arrived for their 9am appoiment. I got to the property at 9:20am, 10 minutes before scheduled time. After repairs, the written bill noted charges began at 9am not 9:30. On 10/28 I received a call from BS accounting wanting to verify the billing address, I noted the overcharge of time. He said 'oh well'. On 11/7 Maria called back to see if repairs were satisfactory. I explained the overcharge of time. Maria's reply was "then use someone else."My clients & I will. Not a nicer bunch of people to do business with. I highly recommend this company. They are not only a reliable company but did everything they promised. more

Brevard Shutters has been wonderful! I am going on vacation in Oct. for 4 months and needed shutters put up asap that way I knew my house would be secure if any storms came through. They were out their to give me an estimate the same day I called and had my shutters up within 8 weeks!!! Pros: They were fast more

I have had the absolute worst home improvement experience of my life. The sales person who was sent to my home had little or no actual knowledge about the product. The owner does the design, but doesn't coordinate with the homeowner as to specifics about the design - and for someone who has been in business since 1999, he makes sophomore mistakes, i.e. unable to open windows in their normal operating manner. The installation was "messy", the installers were not neat and left several holes in the stucco where they made mistakes and had to remove/reinstall. Beware, do not give them a credit card number for the deposit - they will put unauthorized charges on it after they have it. First impressions, they are nice - but beware as they are extremely unethical, unreliable, inefficient, and very poor managers of their business. I have never received a final receipt or certificate to show my insurance company - have been asking for over a month. And, I am now going thru a legal process to collect unauthorized charges they placed on my credit card - please do yourself a favor and use another company. more

Wow!! I wasnt sure what to expect because so many shutter companies have gone out of buisness but they were great. The owner took care of us and treated me and my husband like we knew him for years. They have been in buisness since 1999, that says something for the company. We would HIGHLY recomend this company to everyone (and actually have). Our friends were also very pleased. I'm not sure why all these bad reviews. We had Brevard Shutters install hurricane shutters at our home last year and we had no problem whatsoever. They were priced right, on time, courteous and professional. The work was top notch and we would recommend them in a heart beat. A+ more

I wouldn't do business with this company. They cannot keep appointments. Their installers do not care about your property. Takes too long to complete the job. Pros: Office staff tries to be helpful. Cons: Unreliable. more

I had the same problem with wait times and run around. I ended up going with a company called Legacy Soffit for my storm shutters and a small soffit repair i needed. If you're needing work done go to www.legacysoffitcom or get ahold of somebody over there....they're good people Pros: I found another company - legacy soffit Cons: Had to wait a long time to get my work done. more

I ordered shutters from them, and for the longest time i could not get a hold of them. I had to write a formal letter so i could get a call back. Took 8 months and still no shutters!! i gave up left the deposit and went with a different company who installed them in 9 days, yes 9 days not working days just 9 days. 8 months was wwwaaayyyy tttttoooo long! It is painfully obvious that the review below was written by a discgruntled employee of Brevard Shutters. Boyd and Maria Rowe have, like so many other companies in this business, dealt with a lot of underqualified installation teams. These teams have sold themselves as well skilled in this field. Only later after review of their work is it discovered that they had no idea how to install the protection products in the proper manner. In the past month Boyd has let a certain employee go whom I believe would be the perpetrator of this review. I find this review highly slanderous and completly unjustified. My ten years in this business have brought me to conclusion that everyone in this business has dealt with material shortagess and unqualified install teams. Call any random company out of the phonebook and see how long the wait is for a rolling shutter system. Everyone in this field was assured by their suppliers that they would be able to handle the influx of work created by the 2004 storm season, only to be let down. It is a trickle down effect, when we are told a certain date, we pass it onto our customers. When our suppliers do not meet the dates promised we in turn have to trickle it down to the customer. I can assure you that the companies want to keep the installation dates given, and that in no way is Brevard Shutters taking the money and running, or running a "ponzi" scheme The statement that a ponzi scheme is being ran is completly slanderous and unjustifed. Brevard Shutters is a financially sound company that has been in business for many, many years, and will continue operating for years to come. The statement that they are fraudulantly handing out insurance certifacation is untrue also. If all required openings are covered with approved products a certifacate is issued. All products installed by Brevard Shutters meet the codes for the area. I challenge anyone to find an installation of any products by Brevard Shutters that doesn't Pros: good company Cons: wait is a little long, but this is true for all shutter companies at this time more

Buyers beware.....A warning from someone who has lost a lot of money with Brevard Shutters. 50% deposit is ridiculous. There are good shutter companies out there. Think long and hard its a lot of money to risk, they will cause you a heap of worry. Pros: none what so ever Cons: professional liars and thieves hunderds of thousands in deposits misused more

Company staff not helpful on the phone, often received uncooperative employees. After 5 months of waiting for shutters, my supplies we "found" from stock items in the warehouse. Beware that manufacturer used is in Miami, and is at risk of being hit by a hurricane (as was the case this year) and will postpone orders even further. When installers came out, office did not communicate with them and so they did not have the equipment needed to install. Office would not provide paperwork for the shutters (warrently, etc) until bill was paid in full! Unproffessional business, beware before using!!!!! more
