Best lox I've ever had 12/31/2002

I've been to Brent's multiple times - usually for breakfast. By absolute favorite is the bagels, lox, and cream cheese platter. The bagels are fresh and delicious, and the lox is hand cut - always fresh. Best I've ever had. Service is great. It does get busy early - so go early - or at off times, unless you don't mind waiting. Their food is also served in the bar next door - but the bar allows smoking which is a real turn off when you're trying to eat great deli food! I have been going to Brent's since I was a teenager! Their food portions are generous and the wait is worth it. Their sandwiches are enourmous. Ambience? Come on, it's a Deli!!! With it's popularity, you could have a long wait, even at lunch. Pros: Good food, Large portions Cons: Loud, Long wait more

A experience that could be New York. Always crowded. Close quarters. Great service. I have never been disapointed there. The price on the menu may seem high, however when they bring the food to your table, all is good with the world. Have been here before for lunches and dinner but never tried their breakfast. First of all, if you don't like waiting, you have to get here early - we arrived at 7:30 AM this past Saturday and were seated immediately, by 8:00 the place was just about filled up and a waiting line formed, by the time we left, there was a considerable line waiting to be seated. I had the deli omelette, which was pretty good and plentiful - I'm not sure the food served here deserves the praise I've seen posted by other readers, as I felt the food is good, but not knock-your-socks-off great. The service was fine, not stellar, but not bad either - just OK. If you are in the area, this might be a good pick, but I am not sure I'd go that far out of my way for Brent's.
