Best

The food is awesome, and everyone knows it! So it's standing room only, waiting for a table, elbow to elbow~ eh! If you hate that kind of scene, if you're a barfly, if you'ld rat...

Worst

I've eaten there three times over the past two years. In my judgment, this food is so lousy that it seems impossible that it could be either cooked, eaten, owned or operated by my...

best deli ever!! 10/26/2004

You have to try the whitefish salad, the cheese blintzes which are even better than my grandmother's (she would absolutely kill me if she knew I thought so), the unbelievable chopped liver, and the awesome sweet-and-sour cabbage soup!! Get a bunch more for take-out. more

Very good deli- kid friendly staff. Loud and crowded, maybe not the best for infants, but pre-school age children would be goos- extensive deli menu. more

Brent's was always a great place to meet and eat back in the day. I just relocated to the area and couldn't wait to go back. This food is outstanding, the service quick and friendly. A New York Deli in the Valley 2/6/2004

If this place were placed in the middle of Manhattan, it would easily compete with New York's finest deli's. Their soups are exceptionally good especially the cabbage and matzo ball. Sandwiches are large and delicious. The fresh roasted turkey sandwich is a must get. Get it with tomato, lettuce and mayo. I was also pleasantly surprised with their pastrami, it could hold it's own in New York. Pros: soups, turkey sandwiches, efficient service more

Brent's Deli is always crowded so they have to get people in and out as quickly as possible. Therefore, it is a great place to take kids because time is of the essance. more

Best deli in San fernando Valley 8/5/2003

When I think of deli food I think of pastrami. How good can a deli be when the bread is better than the pastrami in the sandwich? If you want the best pastrami then you must go to Langer's (best deli in L.A., in the worst location). The best thing on the menu here is the cabbage soup, next is the fish platter, then the chicken stir- fry (a meal in itself). This place is over-hyped, and over-crowded, but good for a few items. Pros: cabbage soup, fish platter, chicken stir-fry Cons: difficult parking, always crowded, noisy more

OK Deli 5/19/2003

After having breakfast at Brent's we felt the food and service were OK, but nothing to write home about. Omelette was acceptable, meaning we have had better as well as worse. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were typical deli - a bit on the expensive side. We are not opposed to spending $10 per person for breakfast but feel the food as well as service should warrant the price paid. Bottom line: we might return if in the area but feel there are a number of other deli's serving up better food at the same or less cost. more

A really busy place with great deli and Jewish food. A HUGE MENU. If your little one doesn't like too much stimulation this isn't the place but otherwise the staff is very accomadating for the kids. more

Black Forest Pastrami 1/27/2003

Brent's is the best deli around, hands down. The sandwiches are massive and the meats excellent. If you're a pastrami lover try the Black Forest Pastrami. Its flavor will knock your socks off. Try it as a Reuben or just as a Pastrami sandwich. The knishes, Blintzes, mazto ball soup are all fantastic. I've been to most of the other delis in this city, and there are some very good ones, but Brents in my opinion is the best. Especially when it comes to the sandwiches. more

Best Deli in town 1/19/2003

Outstanding and consistent quality. Deli waitress and Busboys that never let your drink go empty. Food is always served hot and is of exceptional quality. Portions are gigantic and the sandwiches and omlettes are to die for. Great on a Saturday or Sunday morning but expect a consistent 20-30 minute wait....IT's WORTH IT...great food, moderate prices, great service, consistently outstanding. Pros: Consistent Quality, Great Food, Excellent Service Cons: Consistent Wait more

Best lox I've ever had 12/31/2002

I've been to Brent's multiple times - usually for breakfast. By absolute favorite is the bagels, lox, and cream cheese platter. The bagels are fresh and delicious, and the lox is hand cut - always fresh. Best I've ever had. Service is great. It does get busy early - so go early - or at off times, unless you don't mind waiting. Their food is also served in the bar next door - but the bar allows smoking which is a real turn off when you're trying to eat great deli food! Pros: lox, good parking, bagels Cons: waiting, smoking in bar more
