Worst

They don't even deserve 1 star, except the drivers helpers were very good at moving the items. As the previous reviewer stated, all the bad reviews are true. I was given a quote...

I HATE MOVING! But these guys were good 9/12/2009

I despise moving and everything about it. But Boston Flat Rate made it a lot better than usual. I was actually surprised, for once, that they arrived at the agreed upon time. From an experienced mover, I assure you that is rare. Everything went off without a hitch. The quote was fair and there were no hidden fees or anything like that. more

Saved My Butt During a Busy Moving Time! 9/1/2009

I can't really say enough about boston flat rate since they saved my butt last week. I was forced out of my apartment on short notice and needed a moving service FAST! With all of the college students moving in this week, I tried several services only to be told the wait would be over a week! Makes Moving Easy 9/1/2009

Moving may be the worst thing a student must do. Being poor, I picked this service with low expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quick service and the friendly staff. I will definitely use them again and again, as I will likely be moving for both my residencies. Pros: easy to use more

No complaints -- will use again 9/1/2009

I used Boston Flat Rate to move from Jamaica Plain to New Haven Conn. I was nervous at first as they were about 10-15 minutes later than scheduled, however, they soon made up for the lost time and everything went smoothly. Liked Them... I'll Use Again 8/14/2009

I personally really liked boston flat rate. They were quick, fair priced, no hassles or hidden fees. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I moved from a pretty small apartment, so they weren't exactly put to the test, but they did maneuver a queen-sized bed around a stairwell really well. I'll definitely use them next time I move... which I hope isn't too soon Pros: price more

Boston Flat Rate was fantastic -- period. Moved from t Waltham out to Maryland and needed a service that fit by super-tight budget, but still smooth. No problem for BFR! I spoke with someone named Eli on the phone, who assured me of everything. He was very open and honest about all the details with the move, and I knew right away that it would be a good experience. What a great moving experience! I may be biased as I have has so many bad experiences with moving, but this was fantastic! All my stuff was delivered one time, well cared for, and at a great price! I can't believe how many services I've used for more money and received terrible results. Boston Flat Rate was excellent. I moved from Boston to Detroit and could not have been more happy.... Hire these guys! I'm never moving by myself again 2/20/2009

My wife and I used Boston Flat Rate cuz we were on a budget. I've heard horror stories about using ""budget"" movers, but we really had no choice. Boston Flat Rate treated us so well and took great care of us...all of our stuff remained in tact and they didn't scuff or break anything (which we always seem to do when we move). I don't really consider them a ""budget"" moving company as the trucks they used were nice, the people were very professional and they were timely. it's just an affordable little gem. affordable moving company perfect for students 2/18/2009

used these guys with my bros to move from somerville to the big city. good stuff all around. didn't have to use up my life savings and they were real professional. not gonna say they were perfect, cuz nobody is, but they certainly did what i needed from them : move my stuff out without busting my wallet. i'll use them again when i can no longer afford to live in the city. more

Came when they said they would. Were true to their ""Flat Rate"" policy. Never broke anything. Efficient. Friendly. Scheduling was really easy. No real problems. Maybe not the ""luxury"" type of moving company. But they didn't cost much either. Really good value to be sure. Pros: value more

just what I expect from a moving company 2/18/2009

I was moving from Boston to New York this past January and needed something affordable. I found these guys on citysearch and saw all the good reviews and thought I would give it a try. They arrive at my place on time, as we scheduled it, despite being during the holiday season. All of my stuff was packed within an hour and we were on the road. Everyone was very nice and professional and moved quickly--unlike some moving companies I've used that do everything at a snail's pace. I think the best part was the price...that's something that really set them apart. Pros: Price, Price, Price! Cons: None really more

Don't use these movers 2/5/2009

Even though the price may be right, it's not worth it. They promised my things in California from Boston on the 7th but didn't even leave MA until the 5th. Something about having 21 days to move it though they picked it all up on December 17th, more than enough time for them to move it. When they finally got here to CA, they made an appointment for between 7 and 8 am but didn't get there until 10:30. After arriving, they said that they had to assess an additional $100 because of ""extra stairs"". So after waiting 2 and a half weeks for my stuff, missing hours of work because of missed appointments, I had to pay more than agreed upon so they would give me my things. It's not worth it to save a few bucks when you already have to deal with moving to a new place. Pros: The pick up was fine. Cons: Everything after the pick up was horrible. Communication, service, timing, courtesy, etc. Esp. actually getting me my stuff. more

considering the low rates, I wasn't expecting a miracle. but they actually were pretty good. I really have not complaints. the one mover didn't talk much, but whatever...they're just movers. they were on time, quick, and best of all a good price. i'd recommend them to anyone. Good stuff all around 2/3/2009

Couldn't be happier with the way these guys handled my move. I'm a student and needed something cheap, but still reliable....these guys were it. I almost blew the whole thing giving them the wrong address that we needed to move to. They were really understanding and we ended up at the same place eventually. they didn't charge me more and greeted me with a smile and a laugh. I was really impressed. It was totally my fault. the price was right, the service was over and above what I would expect from a moving company. more

Good price and service makes moving easy! 2/2/2009

I can't believe I ever tried to move by my self. I heard of BFM from a friend who used them last year. He said they were inexpensive and effecient, so I gave them a try. WOW! What a pleasant surprise! No hassles, no delays, no empty wallet. I was able to move all my stuff in one day (which included several couches, an entertainment center, a deep freeze, etc.). I was very pleased...and the one service man even complimented on my clothes (nice touch guys!). I felt very respected the whole move, and the crew was so friendly to me and my kids. I will definitely use them again in the future...if I ever have to move. Pros: Fast, friendly, affordable Cons: NONE! more

This was my first time moving, and I had no issues. Very easy with Boston Flat Rate Movers. As a college student, I really appreciated the low rates. Still, the service was also excellent.
