This gym is the worse gym ever! I have so waster my money and was told I could not cancel - should I file with the Better Business Bureau? I guess it couldn't hurt. 1. I made the mistake of joining for a life time membership close to 3 years ago and have 3 more months of making payments of $25 a mo. = $75.00. I have not been to this gym since Sept 2010 or almost a year now. I joined Retro Fitness in September for $20 a month. Even as my year membership is ending with them I can't get the nerve to go back to Body Visions because of how gloomy, dirty and broken it was/is even though it would only be $100 a year. Just can't do it! 2. My biggest complaint is how they use dirty sweaty towels in a bucket to clean the machines. Which are only changed 4x a day (I've confirmed several times with the staff) or say every 4 hours at the most if they open at 5am and close at 10pm - that's 15 hours/4 changes equals about every 4 hours - disgusting! I've written complaints about this on several occasions - still nothing changed. At Retro you use fresh paper towels and discard when finished, yay! 3. Several of their machines were ALWAYS broken and even though we/I complained they were never fixed. Also several of the benches were torn from being so old! 4. There is also water leaking from the ceiling with a bucket to catch the water, clever. If you on the wrong machine it can also hit you in the head - yuck! 5. The shower area was always dark, dirty and gritty looking and very small. I actually never took a shower there but have heard the water isn't hot. I just never felt comfortable getting clean there. Yet I always use Retro Fitness showers, which are clean, big and have very hot water. 6. The staff is not very motivating. They tend to sit at the desk and most (if not all) could stand to use a few cardio work outs! One time a very large guy was sleeping. Not really sure why they would even pay someone to sit there and sleep? 7. Oh and how could I forget - they have 2 very old metal water fountains. I think they were even starting to rust a little and the water was not that cold, came out very slow and had a nasty taste. Oh and only 1 of them worked. I think that's about it for now. I wonder when they will actually be closed all together - I say in the next year. more

I have been a member for a few years and I like the place. In late 2008 to mid 2009 the place did take a turn and was a little neglected. Over the last six months it appears that the owners have began to make an effort to restore the facility back to the high standards that it once had. There is still much to do but it is getting better every day. more

body visions fitness centre is the biggest joke here in the fitness industry of Delaware. they have 2 STUPID AND INCOMPETENT men running the gym. One is old and is on his last leg, the other is a compulsive liar and can't keep a job. Matter of fact, both of the mangers (dummies) were fired from this gym before. why are they back, i don't know. this gym lost so many gym members to the ymca in bear, retro fitness, 1614, the zone, and many other gyms in that area. body visions need to shut down. this place don't even have running hot water. what's that all about. leaks from the roof when it rains, several gym equipment doesn't work right, they have no certified trainers at all. take a look at their website. when i see that website, i see nothing but lies. this gym use to be the bomb when they were the dominant gym in bear. i use to be a member here for a long time but what took place here during the last 2 months it was time to leave this piece of dump gym. who want to pay for a membership a gym that doesn't offer alot. a staff person their recently told me that this place is up for sale. i didn't believe it at first but when i looked it up on the internet to confirm it, i was shocked. how can this place be up for sale and they (the owners or so called managers can't even managed it. more

I have report to the front desk the filthy conditions on several occasions. I continue to be told the same thing; I will let someone know. The mens locker room, specifically the showers are full of mold and mildew. The shower doors are so dirty that they have started to stain. Matter of fact, I took a shower and noticed that they didn't have any hot water. Isn't that pathetic. Who's paying the bills at this INCOMPETENT gym. The only thing they have done was refill the toilet paper (which at times they don't have). I have had to make a point of going home after my work out as I'm afraid that any contact could cause either an air born illness or a flesh one. I joined for a 1 yr membership in nov 08. after 3 months, the restrooms were stinking, urinals had no water to flush, there is a sign that tells there is no hot water in the shower. i asked the manager to cancel the membership, and instead of finding out what the reasons were, he started yelling at me and asked to contact a lawyer. never did they take time to understand what your problems are and were really harsh to you Cons: Do not join this gym, I am trying to help you more

When I signed up the sales rep promised I would get one free hr with a personal trainer to answer any of my questions and teach me how to use the equipment. Well I had to stay on them for three weeks before they finally sign me up with an old man for only a 15 min walk through. Bad start, not to mention the gym was always nasty, dusty, several mirrors around the gym are broken and bench seats are ripped. There were so many times they had no tissue or papertowel in the ladies dressing room. 30% of the equipment was always out of order. Daycare closed during operating hours Pros: DON'T HAVE ONE.. I wanted to cancel my gym membership with this gym because i was getting a new membership at another gym. I tried calling them over the phone and they said i was gonna have to go in and talk to a sales rep. i went in as they requested and when i got there they ask me how they could help me. That place is a dump. The ladies locker room is a joke and usually full of old and broken benches with taped on it. Throughout the gym there several malfunctioning radio headphones for the tv's on the cardio machines. Their isn't any personal trainers at all. The sales people are like high pressure selling anyone who would listen. Pros: BIG GYM Cons: NO TRAINERS, ETC more

I heard many things about this gym. It's going to be sold. Several members are still handing out flyers that show Body Visions is up for sale. I already have a 1 yr membership. What the hell happen to the 30 miniute workouts upstairs. I missed the old staff they use to have. The were alot knowledgeable than these people they currenttly have. Myself and many other people are going to leave this gym and join the YMCA in Bear. I ran into a friend who use to go to Body Visions and he stated that he joined a recently new gym caled Retro Fitness. He told me about it,so I look it up on the internet and it's awsome. My friend also told me that many members left Body Visions and joined this gym. I really don't know what happen to Body Visions but I'm leaving it and will be joining a new gym.
