This gym is the worse gym ever! I have so waster my money and was told I could not cancel - should I file with the Better Business Bureau? I guess it couldn't hurt.
1. I made the mistake of joining for a life time membership close to 3 years ago and have 3 more months of making payments of $25 a mo. = $75.00. I have not been to this gym since Sept 2010 or almost a year now. I joined Retro Fitness in September for $20 a month. Even as my year membership is ending with them I can't get the nerve to go back to Body Visions because of how gloomy, dirty and broken it was/is even though it would only be $100 a year. Just can't do it!
2. My biggest complaint is how they use dirty sweaty towels in a bucket to clean the machines. Which are only changed 4x a day (I've confirmed several times with the staff) or say every 4 hours at the most if they open at 5am and close at 10pm - that's 15 hours/4 changes equals about every 4 hours - disgusting! I've written complaints about this on several occasions - still nothing changed. At Retro you use fresh paper towels and discard when finished, yay!
3. Several of their machines were ALWAYS broken and even though we/I complained they were never fixed. Also several of the benches were torn from being so old!
4. There is also water leaking from the ceiling with a bucket to catch the water, clever. If you on the wrong machine it can also hit you in the head - yuck!
5. The shower area was always dark, dirty and gritty looking and very small. I actually never took a shower there but have heard the water isn't hot. I just never felt comfortable getting clean there. Yet I always use Retro Fitness showers, which are clean, big and have very hot water.
6. The staff is not very motivating. They tend to sit at the desk and most (if not all) could stand to use a few cardio work outs! One time a very large guy was sleeping. Not really sure why they would even pay someone to sit there and sleep?
7. Oh and how could I forget - they have 2 very old metal water fountains. I think they were even starting to rust a little and the water was not that cold, came out very slow and had a nasty taste. Oh and only 1 of them worked.
I think that's about it for now. I wonder when they will actually be closed all together - I say in the next year.
