Great office, great staff, GREAT experience! 3/19/2013

Fantastic Office! \r \r My children love coming to the dentist because of the wonderful atmosphere Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry offers. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by one of their receptionist who makes sure all of your paperwork and insurance questions are taken care of. With insurance these days it is great to have someone so knowledgeable to help you right as soon as you walk in if you have questions! While we waited for our appointment we took advantage of their ISPY that is painted on the walls. It is a great distraction for little ones! When we got called back the assistant was so nice and made sure she knew if we had any questions or concerns. I was able to go back with my 1 year old but my older child was to get her teeth cleaned out in their hygiene area. I was completely fine by that because we all know the majority of times children do better without their parent around. Plus, I knew she could focus on what the hygienist was asking of her instead of worr more

**DO NOT USE!** Horrible and unprofessional!!! 6/18/2012

This has to be one of the worst places to go, if you love your child, DO NOT take them here!\r 1: They DO NOT allow parents to be with the child while the work is being done.\r 2: They dont read the notes and previous information THAT IS IMPORTANT to the work being done.\r *****3: THEY GAVE SEDATIVE WITHOUT CONSENT TO MY CHILD ... NO CHECKS FOR ALLERGIES OR INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSES ... ***\r 4: They did not finish the job properly and the work that was done now has to be re-done and yes, more $$$ to fix their problems!\r DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD to this place!\r Terrible, disrespectful and should not be operating!!!!!!! more

expensive treatment plan, did not help our child's dentist phobia 7/19/2011

We were referred to this office because our preK daughter was extremely anxious when she had to get two cavities filled. When I arrived there for the appointment, I spoke with front desk about her anxiety and they were clueless as to why we were referred there, but she said she would let the staff in the back know. When we went back, I had no idea there was a no parent policy and just walked back with my daughter. I was not asked to leave at any point during the initial exam (a follow up appointment was to be made for the actual work) but I was informed that I WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO COME WITH HER for the next appointmet... I asked what the recommendation would be for a child who was uncomfortable with this would be and I was told, she would be fine if I told her I was fine with it... there was no other option. Our daughter is not ok with this, and I am not either.\r \r While the exam went smoothly, and the staff seemed nice, we won't be back. I do not allow my child to be anywhere tha more

Unprofessional employees 2/24/2011

I job shadowed for dental assisting school in Dr. Taylor's office. Knowing that there was an opening, I took my resume with me. The first day was great! Thank God, I went back a second day! All the hygeinists were great... Dr. Taylor & his two assistants, on the other hand, were not!\r Never in my life would I have thought I'd ever see a "click" in a dental office! But Dr. Taylor himself & his tow chairside assistants were making fun of a parent! They were talking about how ugly & dirty she was. They even went so far as to have one of the office girls take to me to the front desk, to have a look at her! I didn't know what to do. It was extremely ackward! When I cam back to the exam room, his asst. says " Oh, you can go in the other room now". Needless to say, I took the hint! It was totally unprofessional & incredibly rude. \r As I walked out the door, Dr. Taylor said Good Luck w/ school & just kept walking... As I was going out the door I was wondering what they were saying about ME!\r I more

Friendly and courteous 2/4/2011

I would def. recommend them to a parent. I WAS allowed to go back with my son and the assistants and dentist were great, friendly, and courteous. I was a little shocked to see some of the bad reviews. I have never had a problem with them. As for some of the parents who complained about not going back, you will see at most dentists offices they do not allow the parents to go back. All I had to do was simply ask, they allowed it. more

I do not recommend 5/27/2010

I was recommended to take my 2.5 year old to Dr. Taylor. I made the appt, when I got there, they had us see one of his associates, female. They did not tell me I was not going to see Dr. Taylor, the female associate just walked into the room. \r \r Second visit, I walked out with my son after 15 minutes and told them I would find a more professional dental team with better bedside manners with children and parents. I will also find a dentist who allows parents to be in the room with their toddlers. Why are we not allowed in the rooms? They wouldn't let me peak into the room, they wouldn't even let me stand in the hallway. And my child was screaming the entire time, I heard no words to console or calm him down.\r \r If you are going to take young children away from their parents, you better make sure the dentist, assistant and receptionist all establish confidence in the parents. This office is unprofessional, rude, and really don't seem to like children at all. \r \r And from the list I s more

Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry 6/16/2009

My first experience with the hygienists was all right, nothing stellar but certainly friendly and fine. Dr. Taylor was friendly and kind to my boys. The next visit required actual dental work. I was furious when I left. I had been treated rudely by the dental assistant who worked with one of my sons, and he was in tears and not being treated compassionately by the same assistant. I just about packed us up to see someone else for the remainder of my boys' dental work. However, my other son came out smiling and happy as can be, and Dr. Gierke was very compassionate and caring. So I wrote a letter. It was received by Dr. Gierke with great concern. I decided to continue with my sons' care at this office given the response I received. I couldn't be more pleased. I have been assured the dental assistant with whom I had issues would not have any future contact with my children and that the issue had been addressed with her, and each visit since the initial problem visit has been very positive more

seriously ridiculous 7/28/2008

Plain and simple! This office needs to spend time investing in either hiring more professional office staff(excluding dental hygienists) or invest in some interpersonal relations training for those they feel they have "carefully" selected. For the life of me I cannot imagine why anyone would act in a snooty manner and of all places Bloomington,IN!!!! but they seem to have that down pat. What they do not have down pat is the simple basics of data entry. When you write on a card someone's next appointment and do not input it into the computer that way, there tends to be a problem!. But rather than admit the mistake one particular "sweetie" acts as if it is your mistake. And as far as getting to go back with your child? I have an autistic child and was met with all sorts of rude treatment about going back with my child. All it would have taken was one initial visit with mom there and my child would have been fine but I was Forced to stay in the waiting area.. I am not certain what clout more

Great place to take your children..... 4/30/2008

This is the best pediatric dental office I have ever seen. Dr Taylor and his staff were so great with my family. The office is decorated so neat with murals from local artists and the toy machine at the end is a great incentive. I have never had one negative experience at this office and I've been taking my kids there since 2002. Don't form your own opinion until you have taken your kids to this office and judged for yourself! Such a fun place!!!! more

I would not recommend. 2/4/2008

I am surprised with the review given by one Mr.Stephen here below. \r Apparently, it seems like Dr.Kyle Tyler likes some kids and doesn't some others. \r \r We went to see Dr.Kyler since a friend of ours recommended him. \r \r Our child just started Pre-School. It was our second visit to this dentist. My child was nervous and crying. All he had to offer my child towards making my child more comfortable towards him was a "threat" by telling my child that we'll send your parents out and handle you by ourselves !, and telling my child that you are grown up enough not to be crying ! And he became visibly irritated and angry very soon, and that made my child even more nervous.\r \r For cryin' out loud, I was nervous and crying till I was 8 years !\r \r If the doctor was any more professional, he would defer his "threats" to us parents and present it as an option, and stop threatening my child directly. \r \r Even if he is not professional in handling my child's nervousness, I would always put that as more

Wouldn't Recommend 9/18/2007

They don't really like the parents to know what is going on. They took my child back and done services on her without consulting me first and then expected me to pay for them. They also charged way more than what I was told that I was going to be paying. They are a lot more worried about how much money they are going to make than the kids. The staff could be more friendly too, they are kind of rude will answer if you have a question but very direct and not nice. more

Very kid and family friendly, recommended 11/2/2005

I was very impressed. They DID let me go back with my 2 year old daughter, and although she was nervous, the doctor's great manner put her at ease. The other kids seemed to be doing fine, too. Two friends of ours recommended Dr. Taylor, and we can see why. PROS: Very good with kids, had helpful advice CONS: Could maybe use more toys in the waiting room more

just ok 10/2/2005

they should be a little more kid friendly and less money hungry. didn't take long to not like this very well they don't want the parents to see or know whats going on. The surrounding area is very kid oriented but the staff need to be friendly and more kid friendly. The parking is great and the office is very clean. more
