Black Woods Grill & Bar

We had a party there for my Grandmother's birthday during the Easter Sunday brunch buffet. The service was absolutely terrible. We sat and had no server for about a half hour. So we started just eating from the buffet (so we could get some food!). We asked a passing by server if we could get menus and she said it was buffet only. Of course 2 large parties across from us all had menus in their hands....After speaking to a bartender (who said she was a manager as well) about this they sent out menus finally. We then flagged down a girl passing by who said she wasn't our server but she'd take our drink order. When I asked for a tap beer she said there was no tap beer for the banquet center because she'd have to run ""all the way to the bar"" for them. Of course...the table across from us had a steady flow of tap beers being served to them!!! She took our drink order and never returned. We finally (after 45 minutes or more) got a server afterwards that took 3 people menu orders and dissapeared. I went ""all the way to the bar"" and got my wife and I two tap beers. My cousin ordered two sodas that finally came after 10 or 15 minutes. They where flat...so the server came back with two cans of coke, set them down and said we're all out of glassware and walked away. The cokes were warm! So my cousin had to go to the bar where they were fully stocked with glasses and got a glass of ice. After all of this we had to bus our own table to make space for my Grandmother's cake. Then I get charged 16.00 per buffet which is pretty pricey considering the small selection of food and they they where out of multiple things on both of my visits to the buffet. Saw a manager that walked by us several times and seemed oblivious to what was going on around her (I was in contact with several different employees to get any service and it was obvious there was no communication between any of them). Overall it was probably one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. And whats more sad is their website doesn't even have any sort of email to contact them regarding issues. Guess I'm going to have to call and speak with a manager! more

Well, as we made our way to a table the noise of the crowd was very annoying, come to see that everyone around us were local friends of the bartender, yelling right around us the whole time. We did not realize we were going to a local dominated sports bar. But, since we were staying at the Americinn and not local we had little choice. But, as they shared jokes and laughed and paid no attention to two quite hungry people we frantically ordered a couple of the wild rice burgers which were not bad, and only reason I give this place a single star. We did not like the environment at all, and dont think anyone would in this situation, we again frantically wanted to pay bill and leave, but girlfriend left a jacket there, and instead of going back we decide to retrieve in morning, only to be told the 'friends' helped themselves to the jacket and the bartender knew and then lied and said she would mail it, 2 months and many phone calls, still no jacket or apology. YES we forgot the jacket, but any restaurant has a lost and found and considering we were one out of 3 others that weren't local, and guests at hotel (that the bartender knew) and spent a few hundred you'd think the bartender or manager would give a little crap about us. Nope. local rude drunks, we'll never go back, and stay on canal park where out of towners are welcomed from here on out.... more

We were surprised to get last minute reservations for an Easter Brunch. Now we know why, the cook should be fired for serving that abomination of food. I say cook, because no chef with any type of training would have served that pile of crap. low quality food, tasted like crock pot crap. Not much effort by the kitchen staff in putting forth a meal worth the price. I was wondering why there were empty tables at 1200 on Easter Sunday. Now we know. No complaints about the Wait Staff. they were hard to find, or non- existent. When asked for silverware to eat with, got the eye roll. How dare we ask for silverware at a restaurant. $79 for 3 people. You had your chance we will never be back. more

We frequent the three Blackwood's Resturants in the area and normally they are pretty good. The food is good, but high priced.... Pros: Normally good food Cons: Awful service, cant mix drinks to save their resturant, high prices for average quality more
