Bike Shop

Don't know what everyone is whining about. I've lived here fifteen years and have always used ""The Bike Shop."" I've bought everything from cruisers to high end carbon fiber rigs from these cats. No complaints and they are always helpful and polite. Pros: They always deliver. Cons: They need to hire some fluff girls. more

moved to town about 4 months ago saw the place but didnt know anything about it just today i went over to look at it and see how the prices are and while i was there i got my bike fixed and while they were looking at it they checked out my intertube to see if there was a leak but nothing else was wrong so that saved me alot of money Pros: close to me Cons: nothing more

I love my new Haro! Its my two favorite colors black and pink with a checkered seat and handle bar grips. It has 3 speeds as well. I let them know what I was looking for exactly and they gave me the best price. SOOOO much cheaper than when i searched on their website!!!! I love cheap! :) My fiance bought his there as well! Since i got it the other day I lost 2 LBS. Hells to the yea! Pros: THE GUYS THERE ARE UNDERSTANDING OF MY NEEDS. THOSE GUYS ROCK! Cons: WISH THAT I FOUND THEM SOONER! more

when i first moved to key west, there were limited options for buying bikes. the bike shop had the best selection, but by far had the crappiest customer service. first the bike i bought was 150 dollars more than the suggested retail price (but i was desperate to get a bike) second, it was the wrong size frame for my height (and it was a boys bike and I'm a girl). what respectable bike shop sells you the wrong size bike (it's easy to check if its the right size) then when i picked up my bike it was all wrong. the front reflector was cracked, the front tire stem and handlebars were not aligned, the handlebars came loose after riding for ten minutes causing me to crash and the light that i purchased from them that i had them install was missing the batteries that came with it in the package. they then told me i could pay for new batteries,that the reflector was damaged in shipment but still worked, the handlebars came loose because i was leaning too hard on them and i could not return the bike because it was now scratched. finally they ""allowed me"" to exchange the bike for the girls model, but only if i paid a 75 dollar restockign fee which they only ""got me"" on because it was clearly written on my signed reciept from my original purchase that this was their policy for returns or exchanges. more

My husband and I recently purchased a house in Key West after many years of visiting. We were excited about this shop being so close to us and walked in one day to purchase our bikes. We purchased an excellent brand. The person who sold us the bike seemed like he just started there so we won't comment about the process and his service. The issues we faced after we took the bike home were many. The bikes were not put together the same way - one bike was missing reflectors; one bike's handlebars were not on tight enough; additional screws were loose. I called up and asked them to pick up the bikes and do a complete an adjustment on them. They said they would be over right away. They never showed up and I called two hours later to get a status. They told me they didn't vehicles which they could have told me in the initial call. I had to walk the bikes over individually to get adjusted as I would not ride them because I was concerned about the safety. I did have to ask for Jesse to fix the bikes. While the bikes did get fixed, I will not be going back to them for service. They made me feel like a bad customer for wanting my new bike to be safe. Overall the staff is very young there from a maturity stand point and need to understand that we as customers don't enjoy being a pain either but I am spending money and would like a hello and thank you. We have great experience and comments from Eaton Bikes and recommend you go there (even if they are slightly more expensive, its well worth being appreciated). I had been using The Bike SHop on Truman Ave when I first got here two years ago because they were close to my house. In the last year, they have hired on a couple of new guys as bike techs. Since then, the service has gone into the toilet. One moring in particular, I had to take my bike back to the store three times within 30 minutes because they kept replacing tubes without removing a piece of glass in the tire. Of everyone that works there, Jesse is about the only one who knows what's going on. Others leave you standing around or treat you as though you are bothering them. When asked questions, most of them stare blanked faced, or talk to you like you're an idiot. More often than not, they will tell you anything, even if it's wrong or utter nonsense, just to make it look like they know what they are talking about. The last bike I pruchased from there was put together so poorly I had to take it back in to have it refit, and then they wanted to charge me for doing it. They have lost my business forever. more
