Big Dan's Car Wash

On March 17th 2012 I visited Pronto Car Wash on 2nd Avenue and 34th street in St. Petersburg. When I arrived I had a .45 pistol in my center console when I left the pistol was missing. After over five weeks and numerous calls asking the owner to call me I was contacted by the manager today (04/24/2012) letting me know that the owner left me an envelope. I drove down there and picked up the envelope to find out that they are completely denying any liability and they are unwilling to do anything. I have been a loyal customer for 12 years and the owner did not even have the courtesy to talk to me. I cannot believe how this was handled and believe that everyone should be aware of how they are conducting business. more

The car wash was great, all except the BODY DAMAGE!!! They let me leave and I didn t notice that by rear bumper was starting to come off until I stopped for gas later that day. The damage was on the passenger side, which wasn t visible when they handed me back the keys. I called to complain (spending 10+ min on hold) and they asked me to come back down. After waiting again to speak to someone, the manager said that the damage THEY DID was a result of someone lightly tapping my bumper 3 years ago. What?! I called the human resources department and again explained that I went into their establishment with no damage and left with damage. It has been three days and they still haven t gotten back to me. Their car washes are great, but is it worth the risk of potentially have hundreds of dollars of damage.... Not for me. more

I had my car washed (The Works) at Pronto on 12/14/09 around 5:30pm. Went home and parked my car in my garage. The next morning, while outside of my garage, I noticed soap streaks down the passenger side of my car and unclean areas. I contacted Pronto and spoke to the manager Wayne and explained my problem. He told me it would be no problem and I could come in for another wash. On arrival he told me that I would have to PAY for a new exterior wash and that my car needed to be waxed. I told him my car was waxed previously by my husband and was not needed. I also told him that if waxing was the problem, why is it only on ONE SIDE. I have been to Pronto twice to have my car washed & waxed. Both times they did a terrible job of washing the bottom half of the car and then waxed over the dirt, grease and tar. I tried to wash the parts they missed when I got home. I couldn't wash the dirt & tar off because of the wax on top. They also leave something noticeable for you to point out; they will fix it in front of you in the hopes that you will be inclined to give a bigger tip. I should have washed it myself, I would be $28 to the good ($20 for the wash $8 for the tip) and the whole car would be clean. Pronto will no longer be seeing any of my business! Pros: Someone else washes your car. Cons: Someone else washes you car. more
