You WILL be disappointed -- Don't Waste Your Money 11/20/2010

Food is good - unfortunately, cold burgers etc. suck. Service, bad bad bad bad and more bad. Live music used to be so good. Now it's horrible. Boring bands, playing boring music. The old bands were great. I have no idea why they aren't around anymore. I would travel to see Bugs Beddow or Silver Hammer. For some reason, neither of those have been at Big Beaver lately. I used to like this place and I live close by. But I won't waste my time here anymore until they get things under control. I give this place a D- - - - more

BEST KEPT SECRET IN TROY!!!!!!!!! 7/16/2008

My coworker and I work in a nearby building and were curious about what Larco's Happy Hour was all about. What a great surprise!!! The menu was amazing! We enjoyed calamari, scallops, and tenderloin tips for under $20. Then there were the drinks. The bartenders found out we were first time guests and treated us to trying a variety of delicious martinis, also very inexpensive. I was so impressed with the food and the service that I made a dinner reservation for my wedding anniversary next week! I can't wait to tell everyone in the office about this hidden gem! Pros: attentive and frindly staff more

Lack of Customer Focus 5/24/2008

Larco's has been a really good restaurant we have enjoyed for years. However, my latest experience I found offensive. I have become quite impatient with a lack of customer focus and this experience is just another example. The ""management"" has decided not to put salt and pepper on the table. I mentioned to the server I thought this was a bad thing and to please pass this on to the decision maker -- he said he wants to keep his job so he's not going to say anything. CRAZY!! -- And how could an employee be afraid to tell management what a customer thinks??? SCARY! What is going on ??? After asking, we did eventually get 1 salt shaker for a large party. It's like I was asking for illegal contraband! Do they get offended when a customer wants salt?? The way I see it, they have lost the important focus, it's suppose to be what the CUSTOMER wants --not what they think the customer should have. With all the great chop houses in this area, I am boycotting this restaurant- they need to change this STUPID little policy. more

Excellent food, outstanding service and staff, can't wait to go back 5/6/2008

I took some very important clients to Larcos a few weeks back and had the best time.We started off at the bar for a cocktail and realized they have an outstanding Happy Hour, probably the best in town. Then we went to our table and enjoyed one of the best dinners. My filet with zip sauce was the best I ever had and I eat at a lot of fine restaurants. And to top off our wonderful food the service from Badrual was exceptional. My clients cannot wait to come back into town and experience another outstanding dinner at Larcos. Pros: Food, Service, great place for casual bussiness dinners more

Best Food In Town 4/17/2008

We went to Larco's in Troy and the new manager Laura was delightful. When we asked what happed to the rude manager, she informed us he was fired for being rude to customers. We had a great meal and the server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. His name was Douglas and he was the best....I would definitely recommend he wait on you. We are looking forward to our next visit! Pros: Romantic, good value, great service, excellent food Cons: No cons more

great food, excellent waitstaff, but where did they find this manager? 9/10/2007

My husband and I have been diners of Larcos for quite some time now. However, the last few times we went in, things seemed more than disorganized. on one occasion, we started off with a very nice waiter. after we had ordered some wine and appetizers, the manager, maritzo, came over in front of our table and seemed to get in a fight with our waiter and said that we were being given another waiter. we werent sure why, but whatever the reason, seemed to cause quite a stir between the manager and a few of the waitstaff. a verbal fight broke out right in the middle of the dining room floor. on another occasion i was in with a group of people, and again, the same manager came over and reprimanded our server in front of the whole table. it turns out, our waiter served our parmesan cheese to the wrong side of me. something which neither I, nor my whole group would have noticed and felt that it was very unneccesary for our waiter to be reprimand. after talking to many of my friends, i found out that this is not uncommom behavior from this manager maritzo. almost every person which I have talked to has seen him yelling at the waitstaff on the dining room floor. most of my friends say they will no longer dine there because of how uncomfortable it makes them. I have met the Larco family on numerous occasions and I just do not understand this. Mark Larco, I ask you personally, You have amazing food, wonderful experienced waitstaff, why would you ruin your business with an unprofessional, ill-mannered, manager? Unfortunatly, I will no longer be a patron as long as he is there. more

Disappointing 6/9/2007

Review begins below...\r \r The waiter then on his own looked at my wife?s meat and said, ?that?s too well done, we?ll send another.? The same was said to another member of our party. Her?s quickly came out, my wife?s did not. The next time we saw our waiter, he informed us that his manager said we said everything was ?ok.? This was certainly not the case. As everyone else was done with their meal by this point, the waiter offered to package the replacement steak. \r \r We again confronted the manager about this and were told that it was a miscommunication and he walked away. \r \r When the bill came the manager informed us that the cost for my wife?s meal would be removed. (Total bill still being over $400.) We then had three Entertainment Book coupons for $10 off each. The fine print on the coupons states that one coupon can be used per couple for a maximum of 3 coupons, so long as the bill total is over $120. The manager quickly took the coupons and told us that ?we can take two of them and you can have back all three to use again.? I questioned why only two. ?That is what we can do.? I insisted that all three be taken, and ultimately three were taken off the bill. \r \r With so many other choices for fine dining in our area, I can not see any reason to return to Larcos.\r Pros: Friendly wait-staff. Cons: Rude management. Disappointing meal. more

Great place for a romantic night or group dinner 2/4/2007

Beautifully decorated, warm atmosphere, white tableclothes and candlelight. The complimentary valet and coat check were a wonderful addition. And of course the food is amazing. We enjoyed the calamari and bruscetta for appitizers. I had a deliciously moist chicken parmigana and shared the cheesecake (the sauce is heated table side by a wait staff - big flames are always attention getting!) with two other friends. The tiramisu is also amazing some of my other party ordered that. We had large party of 10 people, which lengthen our meal considerably. It did take a little long to recieve our entrees; it was an hour from the time we ordered until we recieved them... And we weren't there at the dinner rush. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, but we were definately ready for our dinner by then!\r Other than that we truly had a very enjoyable evening. I would definately recommend Larco's for a romantic night out or dinner for a group of any size. Pros: Ambience, Food and Service Cons: Maybe a little pricey, but worth it more

Best All round 7/29/2002

Larcos is by far the best in the area. The shrimp larco is my favorite. I crave it and the palemino sauce on their pasta all the time. Great value also! You get alot of food that is always perfect. I have never left Larcos disappointed. We go there at least once a month for dinner. Pros: everything! more
