Excellent 2/10/2010

This place is tucked away near Huntington Ave opposite to the symphony. The food is wonderful. It's a fusion of south east asian and south american food. The place was packed with people. The inside decor is nice as well. Good customer service and good food. There is a veggie bar that you could use to customize your dish. Pros: Good food and Good customer service Cons: Could be packed for dinner more

Great place to eat and very affordable!!! 6/24/2008

I recently just visited Bettys on Huntington Avenue with my family. When we just got there the restaurant seemed very busy due to the Red Sox game. However, we did get a table quick and sat down. Pros: Good food, good customer service and good location more

Well Done Betty's and Thank you!!!l 6/23/2008

My client call me to tell me that they had so much fun at Betty's this past saturday , they were visiting Boston with their friends and decided to take me up on my suggestion . Pros: great tasting experience , amazing flavors !! Cons: you can't see the restaurant sign ! more

Rude staff, terrible management, bad experience 5/29/2008

I called ahead 2 hours to reserve a table for 5 people for my wife's birthday, but was told that they are too busy and cannot take reservations at this time. It turns out the owner was trying to make money from the symphony traffic before the show starts and seat the regular customers after he makes his quick money. We got seated at 7:45 pm, 45 minutes later than what we intended. Pros: interesting concept. nice interior Cons: average food, rude staff, moneyminded management more

Most Fun Restaurant in Boston! 3/15/2008

My brother was in town visiting and I had to take him to Betty's. We had a group of 6 and our waitress Jeannette was dancing, singing, and making us laugh the entire night. Even though we had a leisurely dinner they never pressured us and the service was excellent. In fact, the owner even came over to our table and made us feel welcome. The food was phenominal for the price (about $11-18 for huge entree portions) and the mixed drinks were served in pint glasses. The sake mojitos were awesome! We had so much fun that we stayed for hours and it totally made our night. I give Betty's my highest recommendation if you're looking for a fun, unique, and reasonably priced dining experience! Pros: Reasonably priced, fun atmosphere, great service/staff, delicious food Cons: None - Betty's is the best! more

overpriced mediocre food; inattentive slow and incompetent service 2/8/2008

My wife and I went to this place on a Friday night because we had just finished work nearby and were starving. We were promptly seated at 6:15pm and ignored for about 10 minutes even though there were at least 6 servers in the place and upwards of 15 empty tables; no water, drink order - nothing. When the server came over (""have you been helped yet?""), he took our complete order. The drinks came out fast and tasted good: the wine list was short but felt complete and the cocktails were fun and tasty. After that we waited 30 minutes during which time no one came over to check on us. We noticed people who had been seated after us had already finished their entrees. We flagged down our server and asked him what was going on, he said sorry and 5 more minutes. We ordered another round. 10 minutes later the guy comes back and tells my wife she has to pick her vegetables again because of a mistake in the kitchen, but the would comp us a dessert. The food was not great, especially for the prices. I would rather any place in Chinatown over this overcooked mess of vegetables and dry as a bone chicken. My wife's dish was cooked in a hurry so all the onions were practically raw. Since we couldn't get out of there fast enough we asked them to comp us a round rather than wait around another 30 minutes for dessert. I have been to this place once before for cocktails and it was fine- the bar staff seem to have it down, but don't bother ordering from the kitchen. Serious disappointment. I'm telling you take an extra 10 minutes to walk down to Arirang House or take the train to Chinatown. Anything is better than Betty's. Pros: Drinks are good Cons: poor service, bad food, booming Aretha Franklin music more

amazing food and great service 2/8/2008

I go to Betty's at least once a week with my friends. I absolutely recommend Betty's for anyone who wants awesome food and great service. Junior the owner is there all the time and makes sure you are having a good meal and a good time. The music is great and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. There has never been a time where I have had a bad meal. Just make sure to make a reservation if there is a symphony going on because it will get packed. more

Best Noodle Restaurant in Boston 12/14/2007

Good food and fun staff 11/20/2007

We had a group of 10 for a late evening birthday celebration. The staff was fun. The food was great. Good overall value. Pros: Fun staff and atmosphere Cons: Difficulty understanding the menu more

Terrible Customer Service 11/10/2007

Service at Betty's Wok is a disaster. I would not recommend this place if it was the last restaurant open. We showed up Saturday night around 6:45 pm. Place was busy, but certainly not crazy - there were tables open. Host (who turned out to be the manager) said there would be a little wait, and when we decided to leave, the manager persuaded us to stay saying the wait would only be 20 minutes. So, we decided to stay. Manager then left and never came back for 20 minutes. Waiters checked in on occassion, but that was it, and evenatually asked us (and 10 other parties who had been waiting just as long) to leave becasue of back-up. But, we counted 7 tables open. Finally, one waitress came up to us after 45 minutes and sat us at a table, but said we could only order from 2 items on the menu - salad or sandwich - but that was it, no noodles, nothing. We asked to speak with the manager, but waitress came back and said the manager was not coming out to talk to us. Pretty classy place. Pros: location Cons: customer service and service itself is terrible. more

a lot of fun 10/21/2007

this place is fantastic. coming from out of town, we had a lot of fun with a large group of people. the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth, which helped with the otherwise intimidating menu. portions were large, tasty and moderately priced considering the atmosphere. a lot of energy from the staff made for a great time, highly recommended. more

Great Atmosphere and Food 8/15/2007

I would highly recommend Betty's to anyone wanting good asian fusion or a good dining experience. All portions (appetizers, entrees, etc) are large--huge--but not overbearing. One could easily have leftovers, but one entree is not quite enough to split between two hungry people. more

Wild nights for large groups. 8/1/2007

As soon as my group of 20 over-worked college prep program resident counselors entered, we all felt ready to unwind and have a great, lively evening. The staff were all more than humorous, attentive, and ready to dance with all the diners. Alcohol was served before the water, and this was no good on a humid day and no sense of a/c inside the establishment. As soon as my lemonade arrived, however, the mood of my group matched the great dance/80's hits they played. As soon as we had enough food in us from our appetizers, we got up and danced (I was blocked in by too many people so I danced on the booth-style seat). The staff didn't really know which apps they had as they served them, however the chef came by when I told him I was allergic to peppers and needed to know which ones had them. The dishes were good, the dumplings were just a bit too soft for my preference, but the entrees were right on. Some were spicy, some mild, so there is something for everyone. Since I was allergic to what most of the group chose, the staff were kind enough to make sure I have enough rice to match their yummy chicken and broccoli dish. As it is just a few blocks south of Northeastern Univ., all students having b-day parties would have a great time here. Let it all hang loose and enjoy a few fun hours within walking distance. I didn't pay, so I do not know anything about prices, but nothing is as expensive as NY, so I would've said it was cheap anyway. Only go if you are willing to have a wild time with a large enough group. A dinner date, it isn't, a large family event could be great as the kids can be as obnoxiously loud as they want and no one around you would notice. I was satisfied. If you want traditional, go to Chinatown, this modern twist was right for me. Pros: Attentive and energetic staff Cons: Loud speakers in bathroom! more

Great pre-symphony - fun atmosphere, food, staff, and tunes! 4/22/2007

We come back again and again - lots of great menu options for both food and drinks. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful and really knows the menu. For an upscale-feel restaurant, the cost is reasonable. Gets crowded pre-symphony (reservations are a good idea), but we've found you can walk right in after the show starts at 8pm. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service - great for an 8pm dinner since the symphony crowd is gone Cons: Parking can be tough...try the nearby Whole Foods lot more

oodles of noodles for 20bucks and side of heartburn for free 3/22/2007

I ate at betties the other night , it was the worst, the foods overpriced and so thrown together, the seat we sat in was ripped and ductaped together there was grime in the seat and on the ceiling, the cocktails where anything but ,we figured out there saki scam when we saw the bartender filling the ""saki"" bottles with some box o wine that was on the floor when we got there. Pros: good place to dump someone Cons: better place to leave more

Resonable prices, AMAZING FOOD AND DRINKS!!!, and wicked friendly staff!!! 2/4/2007

Betty's is soooooo yummy!!! They have all these wonderful fruity fusion drinks with saki that go down so smooth! The noodle bowls are amazing! If you are not a regular like me, it can be a little intimidating so ask your waitress and they will help you make a good choice for you!! Once you get the hang of it though, you will be coming back craving your favorites. Its a great place for a date...hint hint boys...the lighting is very romantic!!! Its also awesome for a group, however make a reservation! I love coming here right before the club. Its right near two T's so its a piece of cake to get to. Also if you want to drive, there is a lot of parking usually around unless Northeastern or the Symphony is having an event. The atmosphere is so low key and its just a great place to come and eat some wicked good food, resonably priced, and to have a good time. Also dont be surprised to see the staff having mini dance parties! The music is oldies and retro (but not annoying) so you might end up dancing with them!!! Pros: yummy interesting food and drinks that no one else has, resonable price, friendly staff Cons: if its a date, make a reservation so you are garaunteed to get in!!! more

Passionate people, great music mix, the most fun you'll have at a noodle shop ever 12/1/2006

My friend and I were wandering around Boston one rainy night and found this place. It was above and beyond what we expected for a noodle shop. The employees were dancing and singing and having fun and that made us feel great! We had some food and a bottle of wine, and then the manager joked with us and we ended up getting complimentary sangrias-- and they were awesome! This place is a great place because the people working there make you feel welcome and they make it a one of a kind noodle shop experience. Though we're visiting from Buffalo, we won't soon forget Betty's in Boston. Plus, the blonde waitress was real enjoyable. Pros: Music, servers, wild manager (in a good way) Cons: None that we can think of more

Betty's consistently serves up superb food & service 11/29/2006

One of my favorite places to eat out in Boston! Great atmosphere?retro, 50's architecture, classic tunes and laid-back (in the best way possible). It is a classy, chic place to grab a bite with friends or to have a romantic dinner by candlelight. The staff is always dancing around with big smiles, but on top of their game at the same time. I can't say enough good things. I always have a top notch experience. Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Food more

Most fun with clothes. 11/11/2006

We laughed... we cried... but mostly we danced! My group of friends and I had an incredible time. Great food, good drinks. The waitresses and cooks were dancing with us!!! Go here if you want to have a good time!! more
