Beware of Best Las Vegas Tours 3/10/2011

Beware of BestLasVegasTours which is a booking company for tours around Las Vegas and the GrandCanyon. (One of its other names is Booking Interactive, LLC) My wife and I had scheduled a flight over the Grand Canyon through them for April 28, 2010 but the flight was canceled because of high winds. Papillon Helicopters refunded part of my money but not the $71.88 deposit. I've emailed BestLasVegasTours a number of times but never received a response. I've been calling them frequently since May at 866-688-2378 ext. 2 and have spoken to Mike, Matthew, Jay, Craig and others. At one point Matthew even provided me with his direct number at 801-823-2027 but then he suddenly left on an extended leave so I have had to speak to others since. They are always apologetic and admit that they owe me the money and say they will send a check, but I never received one. Including the times I have called and got their voice mail or a full voice mailbox (even on weekdays), I've probably called around 50 times. In November they finally transferred my phone call to a fellow named Craig whom they said was the owner. He was very apologetic and assured me that he would personally send me a check within about ten days. I never received the check but have made subsequent calls asking for Craig. I have not been able to reach him and have left messages for him but never received a return call. I know it is not much money but I'm retired and have a small fixed income. In December I finally contacted a San Francisco television station channel 7 KGO “7 On Your Side” out of desperation. Their representative informed me that he spoke with “Craig” (E. Craig Fletcher) several times and also emailed him, but they have still not returned my money. I was informed that the matter has now been referred to one of the KGO sponsors for consideration of an investigative news report regarding this company. I recently noticed BestLasVegasTours has an F rating by the Better Business Bureau and that there are many consumer complaints on the Internet. I wish I had known that before. All I am asking is that they return the deposit they admit they owe me because the tour company canceled our tour. It has been almost a year now since the flight was canceled and I have not received the refund they readily admit they owe me. more

Rip-off 8/31/2009

Matthew Clarke & Craig Fletcher are two of a kind. They con senior to give up a $99.62 deposit and even with a 32 days notice that we can't make it ,They want a pair of senior ( 66&65) to give them a NOTE. Of why we cancel.We found the price doesn't add up to there website price. And they will not give back our deposit of $99.62. This is a rip-off of SENIOR & credit card company. Do not use bestlasvegastours 10/12/2008

Avoid bestlasvegastours at all costs. Do not make the same mistake I made.\r \r They claim to be the best, premier, award winning. Maybe if you do not mind being ripped off.\r \r First of all, the price you will find on the website, is not the correct price. The price you will see when you click ""Pay"" will not be the price you pay.\r \r On their main page they say ""* Taxes, Fees & Insurance included in all of our Tours""\r Their company info says: ""Be assured that we don't promote tours with hidden charges, taxes, and fees because we truly believe you should enjoy your tour with ABSOLUTELY NO CATCHES OR FINE PRINT!""\r \r ""ONE LOW PRICE - no hidden extras!""\r \r Do not believe this like I did. They overcharged me $37.88 then the original price I clicked ""pay"" on.\r When I queried them, they said, oh no, that is the extra fuel charge. Also, I went by myself, so the fuel charge is extra.\r \r Nowhere on their website do they mention that. A certain hidden cost!!!\r \r Don't get yourself into an unpleasant situation like this one. There are quite a few tour operators you will find recommended by Frommer's , Fodor's, etc. Next time, I would use one of them instead. Do not fall for their pretty words, since they mean nothing.\r \r If you are still not convinced, a few extra things:\r -On the payment page, they say that """"** Deposit total will be deducted from the total price of your tour reservation."" They do not deduct it.\r -They do not reply very easily to queries on email either.\r -When I explained this situation to them, I was simply told ""sorry that you don't understand the billing process"". Well, maybe if they gave me a total breakdown of the price on their website; \r maybe if they gave me a total breakdown of the price on the invoice; maybe if they included all costs as the say they do; maybe then I will understand.\r \r Final words: stay away from bestlasvegastours Pros: The tour itself is great - The Grand Canyon is a special place Cons: Ver bad tour operator - use another more recognised one more
