Best Buy

If you are looking for help this is not the store for you. They do have some good deals but do your research before going to Best Buy. Most of there help are clueless about the products they sell. Rater then tell you they don’t know about the product they will make up lies to make a sale (if you can even get someone to help you at all). They lie about there so called price matching and do not even honor there own price drops within there specified time period. We just bought a large screen Plasma HDTV from there Magnolia room and when we got home we had 12% off discount coupon in the mail. I went back to the store the next day to get a few hundred dollars back and got nothing but the run around. I offered to just take a store credit and they still would not honor there price guarantee. This was not the first time from that store. If they have the same exact product at Circuit City take your business there as they will always price match and would definitely honor there own price if it drops within there time frame. more

Last year I purchased virtually all of my Christmas gifts at Best Buy. The customer service was slow but I got a good deal. This year I tried to purchase a plasma TV where I was NOT helped by the staff. I went to leave and was asked if I found what I was looking for to which I responded "no". Even after the manager was called, the staff could not answer basic questions without leaving me standing there for a half an hour at a time. After wasting a couple of hours, I left. I could have purchased a new car in less time. Shortly after this I went in to try to get the DVD player (purchased the year before) serviced. I was referred to the Geek Squad and a middle aged man who was completely disinterested in helping me. Needless to say, I threw away the DVD player and stormed out of Best Buy cursing. I will never return. As an aside, this year I bought all of my Christmas gifts at EB Games and I wholeheartedly recommend them. I also bought a great plasma TV online thank you. more

For electronics, I like to go to Best Buy. As soon as we walk through the door, we are greeted by their employees. At the Customer Service, there's always plenty of help. There were a couple of times where I forgot my credit card at home and the customer representatives were able to help me out. The line does get backed-up from time to time, but their response time is decent. It is the checkout lines that get backed up and requires extra assistance. The store is well stocked with my son and I's favorite games. It's also great that they have demos so we could both preview and play the games. The home electronics is also great. The JBL and Bose selection rocks! The car audio also has the latest selection. I like the fact that they can install the speakers within days from buying them. I've learned to DIY, but they were there to install the radio and speakers in my younger years. They also have great selection on computers, but you're better off buying that from the internet which offers better savings. more
